You panic too easy..And you wonder why you get accused of being a pink hat?

that's partly because when the braves get into these situations in the playoffs, it's closing time, but i have to remember...this is not the braves we're talking about. the rays i think are a better team than that...but nothing's a given in the next two games because the rays could have been demoralized and the red sox have a history of coming back, but the rays are at home for the next two games, and just have to win one. but i was so mad last night that the rays blew that game...i would have taken the 10-0 beatdown instead. but this could be like the astros in 2005 after that demoralizing loss; i don't see the rays as a team of quitters. btw, i'm avoiding espn (or at for baseball) until after saturday's game because i know espn will talk about how the sox just won this series pretty much...

Do yourself a favor, avoid ESPN..For the most part, they're a bunch of talking heads that like to ride the wave. I don't think anybody should be proclaiming the Sox as ALCS champs just yet. They still have to win 2,on the road.Big test for the Rays in terms of how they respond to that loss..The big talk around here is whether or not Francona flips Beckett and Lester and has Lester start game 6 instead. Going to be an interesting decision.

i just read this thread for the first time today, and a lot of comments were mind boggling. specifically the one saying who cares about these two teams (phillies and rays). Now see that's messed up cuz the only reason anyone gives 2 *****s about the dodgers is because of Manny. The only reason people care about the Sox is because they've been good for so long that so many people have hopped on the bandwagon. To state my case here for Philly, I and countless others have been Phillies fans for years even through the loads of disappointment, so if there's one team + their fans that deserve to be in the world series and get that attention, its us.

Anyway, I was at a center city bar for game 5 of the phils series. When they won, it was RIDICULOUS!!!!! Everybody was best friends with everybody. On the streets its was mayhem with people yelling and cars honking their horns. Brotherly love at its best right there, no better place to be right now than the Illadelph

Yeah, well, some people here don't know what they're talking about.

I'm glad that the Phillies have a chance, even if I wish it was at another team's expense. There ARE quite a few Red Sox and Dodgers fans out there, you know.

Funny how many people believe that the way fans root for their hometown team is somehow unique. The Dodgers have been selling over three million tickets a year nearly every year for the past 30 years. How many teams can say that?

I'm been a Phils fan all my life, born and raised. I was at the parade in '80,Now its my two teenage sons turn to carry on the tradition. Some people just don't get it

RED OCTOBER BABY...

Aw, man, I can't believe the Rays blew a 7-0 lead and lost!

Ughhhhhh

Yes that is it...it isn't since 'anyone' was around during the Kirk Gibson home run, or fernando mania. No that couldn't be it. Or when Steve Sax was one of the most error prone 2nd basemen in the league, or the bulldog setting a new scoreless record. No that couldn't be it. We are all just jumping on the Manny band wagon. Next time instead of making a broad stroking statement, maybe some of us have been around longer then manny has been in the freaking league. Good freaking lord.

TBS is really on the ball.

Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta had a power outage is the report from the radio.

A power outage? You've got to be kidding. Don't see anything on the news wires about this. Damn it.
What I heard from the local Boston broadcast was an outage at TBS.
TBS problems keep start of ALCS Game 6 off air

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — TBS had technical difficulties and was not able to televise the start of Game 6 of the American League championship series between Boston and Tampa Bay.
TBS spokesman Jeff Pomeroy did not immediately return a telephone call from The Associated Press seeking comment.
