Sox farm system is stacked. Thanks to Theo on that one..Duquette didn't do that much with it and when he left, there wasn't much there.
I caught quite a few games at Lowell this past season. Even at that level, there's some good talent...

Had a busy summer with my Mom being sick, but last summer I went to a couple of SeaDogs games in Portland.

Planning on going to a bunch this summer and making sure my 2 year old becomes a lifelong sox fan in the process ;)

Bucholz, Ellsbury, Youklis and many more have been coming up strong for Boston this year!

As to tonights game, Lowell and Papi are known as fastball hitters, so they should be ok. Manny chases too much high heat, and it sure sounds like Jiminez has plenty of that.

As long as the last encounter between the Rockies and Sox with Schilling really was because he was hurt, I think Sox should win it, 3-2.

GO SOX!

Just heard the guys on ESPN refer to last night as the "Rockies Pitchers' Horror Show" made me laugh!

TACOOOOOOOOS

wooooo

oct 30th 2-5pm get a free taco at taco bell courtesy of jacoby ellsbury's stolen base last inning

awesome.

Regardless of tonight's outcome, if a DH takes a called third strike with 2 out and a man on in a close game, I SIT HIM. Spilborghs is teh suxxors. He actually said, "hi mom" last night to the camera when they introduced him. :D Pechechon.

i love that dirty waterr
oh, oh boston you're my homeeee

PAPELBON ****ING OWNS

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

what happened to you rockies?
That is what you call a cheap win. I doubt that Dice-K will do any good a mile up. Schilling barely won tonight. I like the Rockies chances the next 3. On a more important note, how about that new "24" promo.

awesome ****ing night tonight

Bruins win 4-1 (i think) and Chara ****ed some guy up badly.

#2 BC comes back from a 10-0 deficit with less than 3 minutes to go, with a Matt Ryan TD pass on 3rd&20 with :11 seconds to go giving them the lead 14-10.

Red Sox win 2-1, lead the WS 2 games to 0.

Cheap win? Yeah ok. If the Yankees win a game 2-1, it's an amazing performance, right? If the rockies win that game 2-1, it was an awesome win. You're full of ****.

Schilling barely won tonight? whatever you say. Go back to playing golf.

Wait, how is that a cheap win? It was a pretty close game and a tough win to get, Colorado put up a good fight. And Schilling barely won? Ever heard of a pitchers dual? Thats pretty much what it was. Was it a cheap win because of the pickoff? I call that a pretty good win, Paplebon caught Holliday off guard, he should have been paying more attention to Paplebon, its not like Paplebon has got a stellar pickoff move, nor has Holliday got great legs. It was a mistake, it might have cost the Rockies, or it might have not (I'd lean toward not with Paplebon on the mound).

You've gone from knee-deep, to chest-deep, and sinking ever faster. Want a shovel?

It really pains me to say it, but Boston is just better. Maybe if Hurdle would switch to from bubble gum to legitimate chew things would turn around for them in Denver? :D

Haha, I think he should stick to the gum, tastes better and is not so bad for you. It's not over yet, Colorado is a good team and as much as I hate to say it could definetly comeback. We'll see, the Sox just need to take it one game at a time and keep doing what they've been doing (preferably more like the style of Game 1. As exciting as a close game is, I much prefer it when the Sox win in a blowout).

Please  You give new meaning to the term "douchebag Yankee's fan" Cheap win??Are you kidding me?? Schilling pitched good enough to win. You don't get style points for winning..Yeah, that 2 1/3 by Okie and pickoff and save by Papelbon was really cheap  Cheap win may ass...

ha. Man you are ridiculous. I don't think the forum rules allow me to call you an idiot, so I won't. ;)

What time is Jeter's tee time today?

Great game by both teams last night. Holliday really ****ed that up, can't get picked right there.

Schilling comes up big yet again, 11-2 career post season record

I guess I was off by a run for each team, but I got the results right! :D

If Dice-K does not mess around too much, Saturday should be a close game as well. Fogg looks like he has the experience and attitude to handle the Sox.

With home field advantage and some emotion on their side, I would not be surprised to see the Rockies take Saturday's game. Not that I want them to, but they are a good team.

GO SOX!

so tito is benching youk in favor of ortiz at 1st. imo i think its a bad call.

youk had a 1.000 fielding percentage for the regular season and he's hitting just as well (if not better) than david has been in the playoffs. seems like with papi at 1b we're sacrificing quite a bit of defense (especially with his knees being hurt) while not really gaining much offense over youk

I agree. I think that Ortiz should be the one sitting. I just hope the Rockies can take advantage of it.

As for last night's game, it was nice to see such an improvement in the Rockies pitching. They held the Sox to 6 hits and 2 runs. Too bad the Sox pitching was just a little bit better. :(

Holliday can't carry the team by himself. The Rockies have got to start hitting the damn ball.

Couple three observations.
•I haven't followed the Sox much at all during the season. But I've been impressed with the skill and intensity of Youk. He's a catalyst player, and I'm surprised he sits. I'd sure want that unleashed on game three, away, or any game.

•I don't recall seeing a lineup go after the first pitch in a long time as did the Rockies against Schilling last night. What were they thinking? Getting into 0-2, 0-1 holes not only sunk their at bat chances, but got Boston's veteran out of throwing more pitches.

•[pet peeve]And I'm still mumbling how a DH can leave the bat on his shoulder and watch called third strikes in a close game[/pet peeve].
