Saying that Tony Gwynn doesn't know what he is talking about, coming from a baseball fan, is inexcusable and a crime against the sport.

Your sentence is to listen to Tim McCarver for all of eternity with no mute button and the volume turned to 11.

Scooter (the animated baseball, not Phil) will be there to help in case he needs a break.
You can't put broadcasters on teams that don't follow the team all year. I want someone that has knowledge about the small things about a team not a generic knowledge.

At least McCarver has an in depth knowledge about the teams he broadcasts, Gwynn doesn't do enough games to get that insight. Plus I want announcers that have chemistry with each other. A little banter goes a long way in keeping a 3 hour game interesting. TBS brought teams together that don't gel. It sounds uncomfortable to listen too.

As for tonight's games, Pettite should throw a good game. I wonder about how Dice-K will respond in his first playoff appearance.

HUH?! :confused::confused:

It's not like Dice-K has never bitched in a big game like this before. He did it in high school, he won the Japan Series with the Seibu Lions in 2004, and he won the final game of the WBC too. Though he may be a rookie according to the MLB, he's no noob.

Best. typo. ever!

I think Dice-K will be decent but not particularly good.

He had a 4.86 ERA split at home this year which isn't exactly stellar.

What he has going for him is the lack of experience that the Angels have against him and that can be a difference maker.

Fearless prediction: Halos 5, Sawx 2.

Daisuke has that 'one bad inning' syndrome. He can be nasty for innings before and after having a single horrible blowout inning. Meaning it's very possible to create a Grady Little/ Pedro situation for Francona. Damned if you pull him, damned if you don't.

ya know whats weird, is I was in best buy today and did a sim in MLB '07 on the 360 and that was the final score.... - I couldn't pitch w. dice-k though he's not on that roster, so i had to go w. schilling. still a weird coincidence though.

must be a bug problem in cleveland right now. because it looks like OFF! is being sprayed everywhere. they should really try to get a official mlb bug spray sponsorship.

Did I just hear right? Cleveland's tied it in the bottom of the 8th? :) Looks like the spirit of Ankiel has jumped on Chamberlain = 2 wild pitches in an inning.

Wonder how TBS is handling extra innings with the games stacked up back to back.

Update: Sox are on TNT now.

Indians win, 2-1, in 11 innings, after failing for almost the whole game to score a run with runners in scoring position, finally get one with the bases loaded and 2 out. Petitte and Carmona were both dynamite. Carmona made one mistake - a slider out over the plate, and Melky Cabrera made him pay with a solo homer. That was in the 3rd inning.

Hinske made a great, diving unassisted putout tonight. Quite the glove and defense at 1B, though his hitting .204 this season has been lackluster. Do Red Sox nation fans like him? I'd welcome a Boston vs. the Tribe contest for the ALCS.

Hmm, Hinske isn't playing in tonight's game.

WOW! Papelbon is my man. It was ugly on Lowell's iffy throw to Yuk. Should have been a 1 pitch inning for him, but Pap has some serious game.

So after venting most of the night Im better now. stupid bugs......stupid Manny....

edit:now Im pissed again.

Anywho, Yankees need to win 3 straight, it's doable but I don't like the idea of having to go back to the garbage dumb in Cleveland. 2001 anyone, Yankees lost the first 2 then won 3.

God, Manny stood on the plate with his arms up for a whole frickin 5 seconds before he started around the bases.:mad:

Every division series has a team up 2-0: Rockies, D-backs, Red Sox, and Indians. It'd certainly be interesting for a team to come back from their 2-0 deficit (especially if it's the Angels). :)

yeah, and your point is? It's a walk-off in the playoffs off of one of the best closers in the game
