yeah, and your point is? It's a walk-off in the playoffs off of one of the best closers in the game

I wouldn't have minded if he stood there for a second or so (perfectly acceptable), but five 3.6 seconds is just excessive. Oh well, it's Manny being Manny, what can you do?

I would say hit him with a pitch.;)

You can live with it, haters!

I am loving the post season!:D

edit: Arod is the new Mr. October!!!
Well the series comes back to the cathedral in the Bronx so it's not over yet. Wait for that rabid rally monkey to show its flea infested head.:p

I would call it something but beauty is not it. There are many reasons why I think of the Red Sox as trash and that is one of them.

also one of the reasons i can't stand the red sox, trashy, no class, etc. i actually pulled for the yankees in 2004 if that helps.

but anyway, it's interesting to see all four division series with teams up 2-0, has this ever happened? but i think only one goes to game five, and i think it's the angels series. i think the rockies send the phillies home tomorrow, cubs and yankees will probably win game three but lose game four, and the angels come back and win their series 3-2 over the red sox.

Ahh and I just remembered, a Red Sox pitcher hit Vlad around the 6th or so, forcing him out of the game, possibly Game 3 as well. See, we're not just gonna take that, especially with the Manny HR. We're gonna need to elicit some form of payback (i.e. sticking one to Manny). :D

Hitting Vlad in the 7th with the score tied was obviously not intentional. There will be no retaliation for that hit.

Indians are going to get swept by the Yankees. They did in the regular season.

So much for that, eh? Skankees didn't see Sabathia or Carmona in the regular season.
Best. typo. ever!

Hee hee. :D

And so what if Manny stood at home plate for a bit? He ****ing CRUSHED that thing, everyone knew it was going out as soon as it left the bat, even K-Rod.

Edit: I think Papelbon is part howler monkey:

More like Mr. April thru September...

Actually,it was 3.4259623 seconds  Oh please..Gimme a friggin break with the Manny bashing

..People hate Manny for two reasons:
1. He's not on their team. And don't even tell me you wouldn't want him on your team.
2. He actually delivers in October.Unlike some other unnamed AL All Stars...

Keep the hate coming people.I'm luvvin it..Between the hatred for the Red Sox and Pats,I'm all warm and fuzzy.

Talk to me when one of the teams you root for,is relevant..

Actually, as much as yesterday's baseball made me happy, I hate when people stand at home plate after a home run and I'll agree it was a bit excessive last night. On the flip side-- yes, everyone knew it was out of the park once it left Manny's bat, but still. Manny being Manny?, yes. Acceptable behavior?, I don't know.

Ps. How about Danny Vinik and his 15min of fame? All I have to say is its a good thing the Sox were up to bat because he would have done the same thing to Varitek.

Didn't bother me a bit. That shot was over the Coke bottles. It's not like bounced off the top of yellow line on the monster seats..Been doing it for years. I remember him catching the same heat when he did against the A's in 03.And that one wasn't a walk off..

I'm still waiting for Mystique and Aura to show up.

I'm a bit of a baseball purist, but I like it when the batter hits one in a big moment and watches it.

Maybe if it's a kid with 2 big league HR to his resume, but a guy like Manny?

490 career HR, 1604 career RBI, .313 career BA, .409 career OBP, .593 career SLG%...

He's a hall of famer. Sit back, watch, and enjoy.

Wonder how TBS is handling extra innings with the games stacked up back to back.

Update: Sox are on TNT now.
Yeah, they've been rotating games, even parts of games, from TBS to TNT and back. Hard to follow sometimes. Didn't they realize post-season games sometimes go long?

Anywho, Yankees need to win 3 straight, it's doable but I don't like the idea of having to go back to the garbage dumb in Cleveland.
Hey! Yours truly is from Cleveland.

But don't worry. Your team won't be coming back to Cleveland. :D

I've heard people saying that there wasn't enough crowd noise in the (TBS) mix.
Huh! You shoulda seen the first Tribe-Yankees game. Picture kept going out for a second or two. Then sound kept dropping out. At one point the crowd noise came in REALLY LOUD and completely drowned out the announcers.

Forget the on-air talent, TBS's technical skills stink.

must be a bug problem in cleveland right now. because it looks like OFF! is being sprayed everywhere. they should really try to get a official mlb bug spray sponsorship.
LOL! That was nuts, wasn't it?

We get those midges every once in a while. Local article said that they tend to infest lakeside areas during October when the weather is warm and humid, as it was last night. And guess what? Apparently they're not bothered by Off! They sure seemed comfy on the back of Chamberain's neck last night, no matter how much of that stuff he slathered on. OTOH, they don't bite either, so they're just annoying as all get out.

Interesting side note: I'm not usually prone to psychosomatic illnesses, but ever since I watched that game last night, I've been itching all over. I'm serious. I doubt very much I'm actually being affected by anything I came into contact with. I think watching that game did it to me.

Of course, I'm mainly itching to whup the Yanquees again on Sunday. :)

Hey! Yours truly is from Cleveland.
My condolences. :p
They sure seemed comfy on the back of Chamberain's neck last night,

And in his nose, and eyes, and mouth...
No excuses though, everyone else on the field had to deal with them too. Carmona did fine in the half innings before and after as well.
Never say never, The Yankees have a way of coming back. Remember they were 14 games back and made a run. Don't be surprised if this series goes 5.

Remember when the Yankees were up 3-0? :p

I don't think the yanks are quite done, but they sure don't look too good overall.

Short of a game where losing means you go home, last night was as much of a must win as it gets. Especially after being blown out in game 1.

To lose that game after how well Pettitte pitched really has to be killing them in their minds right now.
