I think it's totally classless of Steinbrenner to make this kind of announcement. Giving someone a false "vote of confidence" before firing them is one thing, but outright hanging a noose over their head is another thing. Moron.

Frickin' Angels. After they won the division they just totally slacked off, leading to them getting swept by Texas after the series with Seattle. The idea was to rest the guys "running on fumes", but unfortunately the slack has carried over into October.
All I can say now is... If this one and the 2 other division series' went 3-0, then I hope the Indians do the same.

True, but I thought they'd make a better show of it than losing 1-2-3. Had they made it to the Series, it would have been luck; I certainly wasn't seeing any real hustle out there. It's almost as if they knew they hadn't really earned it this year.
