Quite funny to see all the posts complaining about plastic in this new iphone.
Remember when iphone 4 rumors came out and people on this same forums were all like "i hate the new design, it's really not iphone-like, it now looks like a random smartphone blabla", "iphone is curved plastic, this is not an iphone"...
The same ones I guess who where hating the pictures of the iphone 5

Did anyone else notice that, in the video, while he was in Safari the top and bottom bars are black/ dark gray, perhaps to match the black faceplate? Up until now all we have seen is the white theme for iOS 7 -- is it possible that this reflects a darker theme or option for users?

As mentioned earlier, that is Safaris private browsing mode.

Looks dated already. I think IOS7 is going to age really badly and I foresee another major graphic update to it for 7.1. Feels like they asked Johnny to take a super minimal approach to the GUI (and he did) and then towards the release date "they" felt the need to pull back and add in some garish pastels and marshmellow colours to try and push it back towards being an obvious consumer friendly product.

Don't really mind about IOS tho.. Good to see some experimenting, hopefully the changes are more than just a graphics over haul.

As far as the new iphone goes meh... ill hang onto my little 4S for now...

So in the end, a lot of people in other parts of the world are better off.
Not including the UK.
By the way, thanks for buying german fire trucks. :D

Politics aside. I always liked it better, when hardware and services are treated separately. There is nothing more expensive in the long run, than a monthly service fee artificially inflated with hardware subsidies. Its never good to hide real costs behind foreign costs. The scam always includes, giving you what you want, in combination with giving you what you don't want. Maybe broadband actually is better in the UK, but I would also have to live in the UK. :p

Cheapest iPhone 5S on contract: $199

Cheapest iPhone 5C on contract: $149

This is purely your speculation. Nothing is known.

iPhone 5C will definitely appeal to the gay community.

It's about time America acknowledges the gay community.

What, exactly, is that supposed to mean? At first I was offended, but then I realized that this isn't the stone age so you couldn't have possibly been making an insulting generalization. Please, do clarify. :)

actually, the newest gen iPod Touch line DOES have the fingerprint coating:

Finally! :)

Thanks for the correction, that's good news for iPod Touch owners and certainly bodes well for the packaging display sticker not affecting the oleophobic coating on the 5C.

Not even an iPod Nano is packed that cheap. I can't believe a several hundred euros expensive phone will get such a crap package.

Incorrect, all the iPods are packaged just like that.

So does the cardboard box of the iPhone 5 really scream "expensive" to you? How about Apple's competitors' flagship phones, are they packaged in custom acrylic "crap" like this, or in more luxurious cardboard?

Not only is the look cheap, not really any advancement on style in the iphone series but it also devalues existing iPhones as it's design is so similar.

I just don't get it, unless this is half the price of an S3 who's going to buy this over a Samsung, unless your an Apple fan! Apple really have lost the plot big time, jeez man make an iPhone with a bigger screen otherwise kiss goodbye to another large chunk of market share. Am so fed up waiting for a real advancement on my 4s.

I can't get over how much I like the blue, and now I like the green even more.

i wonder how easy/convenient will it be able to pry the plastic back off the iPhone 5C (colour?).
It will be very hard and require fine mechanics skills and tools. This is not your typical easy to swap Nokia back cover. The plastic back is not a shell added to the phones body, it is the unibody enclosure that gives all the parts inside a structure to hold on. Everything is screwed into this plastic back and everything needs to be screwed out, if you just want to change the color of the back. You will need to choose one color and stick with it.

I really want to go back to an iPhone (Nokia Lumia 521) but those pastel colors are horrendous, I'll have to see them in person but its either black or white for me.

The packaging is atrocious. Why oh why color matched OS faces. Amateur hour plain and simple.

----------

They're so cheap they'll be sold hanging in the accessories section.

The packaging looks like something you would see in a gas station near the chekout counter. Or am I giving it too much credit.

Honestly, these look worse than a Samsung Galaxy. The OS looks worse than Android.

Blue 5C looks pretty cool. Have to see specs but unless 5S is great this may be a winner
