Ok, first of all, with the war going on in Iraq and how the entire country is in a mess and we're all trying to have some pride in America - what does Palm do in it's first commercial??? They spotlight dancers from CHINA. Nothing against China but, not the best idea, Palm. Your marketing agency/department should have thought of that instead of trying to be so Zen-like.

Secondly, these are THE most boring commercials I have ever seen. They make no sense and have nothing to do with business and the need to get things done. So according to these commercials, I guess if I buy a Palm the sun moon and stars in my life are all going to align and I'll never experience any more problems in my life? Riiiiggghhttt. Not so much.

Thirdly, a friend of mine who has gone NUTS over this phone and he drives ME nuts by constantly defending the phone and putting the iPhone down, yada yada yada - yeah, he's already on his FOURTH PALM PRE! Something was wrong with the first one, the second one was falling apart and the third one was deleting all of his info, texts, etc all by itself. Sprint can't work on the darn thing in the store so they just switch out the phone. So he has to keep starting from square one by re-installing all of his music, etc. I think it's hilarious that he's having so many problems! I met a girl the other day and she left her iPhone in the SNOW and found it two weeks later and it worked fine. ROFL!

I also find it retarded that Palm has to constantly keep sending out updates to fix the phone. I know he's only had the phone for a month and they've sent out numerous updates. Hmmm - I see that as too many "oops issues" happening. So, no, immediately I've already decided you ain't gettin' my money. Besides, Sprint has be rated one of the worst networks and now they are saying they are 4G. Riggghhtttt.... Not so much.

I'm still buying an iPhone no matter what this dude says. What people don't understand is people like myself are moving completely over to Apple products. Therefore an iPhone will work seamlessly with my computer, Apple TV, and exactly what I want to accomplish with my household and business electronics. So, if you're live revolves around Outlook and Windows applications, then yes - maybe the Palm Pre is better for you. I don't know... All I know is that I HATE PC'S now. I have a 17" macbook pro and I LOVE IT! I've grown up on PC's and I got so sick of all the crappy software I had to put on my PC in order to prevent viruses, etc which resulted in slowing down my PC even more than it already was. I've never had any virus software on my Mac and I probably won't ever need it. I love the way Apple THINKS!

Oh geez - I just saw the Palm commercial again. Who in here thinks she looks like the Ice Princess in Chronicles of Narnia." LOL!

Wow, you are a huge fanboy. I love my iPhone, but I love it because of all the things I can do with it, not because it has a cute Apple symbol on it. Fortunately I don't need a phone that syncs with Outlook and has push email now, or else I wouldn't be owning an iPhone. If I had REAL business needs, just as if you did, we wouldn't be owning this phone. Seriously, you need to stop being such a fanboy though because it makes people like me embarassed to be carrying around an iPhone. This entire thread is embarassing and I'm going to never peek in here again and pretend that the majority of iPhone users are more mature then this. Nice job guys, you proving everybody elses point when they say iPhone users are immature little kids.

Yea, pretty weak. The actress looks like a character out of a creepy late 90's Speilberg sci-fi movie. Great metaphore too..."I saw this juggler and it reminded me that my egg-shaped phone can run facebook and twitter at the same time."

Brilliant.

Of for the love of God.

Good grief mister. Get your panties out of a knot. I don't even own an iPhone yet. And yes I am a FAN WOMAN of Apple because I like the way they think. Unfortunately Microsoft doesn't "think" like they do. For my business needs, like yourself, I don't need a phone that syncs with Outlook and so on and so on. Like my friend on the other hand - he is online NON STOP. I mean MSN, Yahoo, AIM, Facebook, and MySpace all at one time 24/7 has to have access to his email, his website email, etc, etc, etc. The main reason he got a Palm Pre was the keyboard. He can't type on iPhone screen because he's got huge fingers.

Don't say you're embarrassed to carry an iPhone. I am going to be pleased as punch when I get mine because I despise my Blackberry now. I want an iPhone for the fact that they make things easy, and everything else it can do and the fact that I can pretty much combine 2 devices into one - iphone and ipod without having to carry both with me. I too, am buying the iPhone for everything it can do for me in my every day and business needs - not because of the f'n symbol. So don't start calling someone immature. The immature one is my friend who is DETERMINED to convince me that the Palm Pre is better by sending me articles and stats about the Palm Pre. I could care less that Palm came out with that phone. Do I think it's a cool phone. Yes. Have I been convinced I should go buy one - absolutely not. They are still having too many hiccups, etc with their phone - Apple has already gone through this. I for one do not have the extra cash to be dropping on a new phone here and there or whenever I feel like it. So I'm not going to go buy a Palm Pre knowing it's not what I want. When I buy the iPhone it's going to be my phone for quite awhile. I REALLY am not in the mood to deal with Sprint nor with having to take phones back time and again over and over like my friend has. The only thing that bothers me is that I wish Apple would get away from AT&T - that's all.

Did my posting say anything anywhere about the f'n symbol. No. I was merely making it known that my friend is now on his FOURTH PHONE........ Count them FOUR. I was only letting everyone know this because if anyone is considering buying a Palm Pre they should know, it's still not perfect. Do you feel like having to take back a brand new phone time and again because it's f'n up on you all the time? No, I think not. Your time is valuable just like anyone else's.

The other part of my posting dealt only with the f'n stupid Palm Pre commercial. Was I favoring the Apple commercial - no. I think Palm was stupid to go this route. Yes it's making people talk about it - does it make me want to buy a Palm Pre - no - it just makes me hate the piece of crap even more and the f'n commercial puts me to sleep.

Calm down.

You may like their products, but they are just trying to profit off of you.

I've returned five iPhone's, for legitimate reasons. Not one pixel being dead. Without data on the Pre's reliability compared to the iPhone, anecdotal reports mean close to nothing.

The commercial sucks, but because it is in China? C'mon...

Where did the cliche that no press is bad press come from anyway? It's definitely not true. Just ask former governer blagoivich(sp?) or Michael Jackson if he was still alive. I think you'll find that there definitely is such a thing as bad press.

After watching the commercial I thought to myself "So that's what Macaulay Culkin has been up to..."

It's definitely classier than the Apple ads. Clearly meant to appeal to a different kind of customer.

Btw, did you see the first Pre ads with all the monks, and how they were made? The monks were real (in training), and performed on the world's largest green screen background.

Just watched it...it was pretty interesting how they actually made the "Flow" ad and what all of the different formations were meant to represent. Pretty cool stuff.

Coming from a current iPhone user who switched from a Pre, these commercials really do suck. They seem to get worse and worse in my opinion. Also, although I returned my Pre, I am a fan of the device. That being said I still think the commercials suck. Would they turn me away from buying one? No. Would they make me interested in one? No.

Simply put, Palm, a struggling company, really needs to get a new advertising firm working on their commercials. I really am pushing for the Pre, and hope it succeeds and thrives. It's a good device and deserves to do well, hardware quality and advertising just need to improve.
