Using AutoStitch app on iPhone 4, I did the Panorama before it was cool. So Apple need to make a more productive outcome if they want to update their phone yearly rather than updating these little things. I mean don't get me wrong, I just don't like that the real iPhone 5 is exactly the same as the rumors. I'll get the iPhone 5 though lol.

My (danish) telecompany are advertising this panorama feature as a part of the iphone 5 :(

there's no reason you wont be able to use it once you update your 4S to ios 6

Apple has disabled headline software features on older devices in the recent past that were quite capable of powering them. Siri could definitely work on an iPhone 4 for example. And there's no reason why Siri couldn't be enabled on an iPad 2 either.

I guess they are confident the hardware improvements are strong enough this time that they don't need to hold back software features from the 4S and other devices.

dont the 4S and ipad 3 have a gyroscope whereas the 4 does not?

also siri will run on a 4 or ipad 2 but they both lack the noise canceling capabilities of the 4S and new ipad. So you could argue that they didn't include it because it would have taken away from the 4S but it could just as easily be because it wasn't able to process and cancel out background noise at the level apple wanted it to

anyone able to do a comparison between apple's pano feature and the app panoramtic 360? always had great results from pano 360 but I have a iP4

It looks really nice. The downside is that we're going to see the web overflooded with any type of panoramic photo while the "feature is hot" :p

Just discovered you can end a panorama by moving back to the left.

No need to press the button to stop. :)

Also if you tap inside the panorama frame it switches to right to left.

Here is one I got tonight. Best panorama app I've used on any platform.

I gave it a try on my 4S... I was really impressed with how simple it is to use, and the results are great!

Wow...These are both incredible shots!

I'm extremely excited about this feature. I use my iPhone as a Point and shoot camera as much as anything, and finally having this feature in iOS is huge. My brother took some impressive panorama shots with his Galaxy S II at soldier field a few weeks ago. I was jealous at the time, but iOS's looks to be light years better.

I have dermander on my 4 does the ios6 panorama have issues with shakiness? Sometimes with dermander if I am not perfectly still the panorama gets thrown off a bit.

You won't have to worry about that because the Panorama feature won't be on iPhone 4.

The coolest thing I'm noticing from all these is that there appear to be no seam lines and no weird ghosting around the borders of individual images within the pano. Thats enough to make it infinitely better than any app I've tried; they all had strange artifacts from overlapping the edges of photos or other strange issues.

I don't think that's why they only released Siri on the 4S as it had plenty of hardware improvements over the 4.

They used it to promote 4S sales, but even without Siri it was still a great upgrade even over a 4.

Agreed. Going from the 4 to the 4S, albeit just under three months ago, the performance difference is night and day. Smoother animations in iOS, faster loading times, quicker transitions through iOS menus, no stuttering when opening full folders, everything is just so much quicker.

The 5 is a really nice phone, but the fact there's no exclusive features in iOS 6 means there's no real reason to not be happy with the 4S. When I sold my 4, I knew that a) the 5 was coming in a matter of months and b) I'd never have been able to keep hold of the money I got for my 4 for that length of time without it being used for a bill or some other domestic matter!

The 4S was a x7 graphical performance boost over the 4, and the 5 is said to be a x2 graphical performance boost over the 4S. The thing is, no iPhone ever peaks graphically (in terms of games) until it's a year old because developers like to ensure the outgoing top model users are still kept happy (mainly because we're all still in contract and are "stuck" with our phone).

Look at Infinity Blade II last year. The 4 and 4S versions were near identical apart from improved frame rates on the 4S and some shards of light and particle effects. To a quick glance though, both versions looked identical, yet IBII was the flagship demo for the 4S like Real Racing 3 on the 5 this week.

Real Racing 3 will look, and perform, near identically on the 4S, 5, and iPad 3. Sure, the 5 might have some fancier shadows/reflections and dust/particle effects, but by and large they'll look exactly the same.
