Thanks for the fast reply. Just so I'm totally clear, when it says:

... does it mean the IMEI of the current device (iPhone 4s) or the IMEI of the new iPhone 6?

Also, is the SIM number printed on the SIM card? I thought someone has said that the SIM number isn't always printed on the SIM cards shipped by VZW, although I might be confusing my AT&T iPad upgrade with this VZW iPhone upgrade. Again, thanks very much.
you need to use the imei on the new iphone 6. it will probably give you a compatibility error if you tried to input the iphone 4 imei. the sim is a long number. it's printed on both the card you pop it out of and the actual sim. on the nano sim it's so long that the number probably takes up 3 or 4 rows. just type it in order as you would read a paragraph. left to right line by line.
hopefully it activates. some people get stuck with a pending activation after using their upgrade and arent even able to get to the screen to activate the sim.
no matter what you do, do not turn on that phone with the pre-loaded sim card.

Okay. Thanks very much for the reply. Much appreciated.

If we run into a problem getting to the screen to activate the SIM, what then? I assume calling VZW is a bad idea. Will her only choice be to return the phone and try again?

ive never had to return anything yet, but from what ive read, if youre within the contract escape period (14 days?) you return and file to have your original unlimited data plan restored.
so you could risk calling verizon to activate the sim card. they can even do it over the chat.
or if you dont want to risk it, just return and try again, although im not sure what re-ordering would do.
if you run into difficulty activating the sim card, you'll likely need to find a spare verizon 4g lte device to activate one on first, then order the new desired phone... then pop in that sim card when you have the phone. Ideally you'd want a phone that uses the same type of sim card, but if not, you can always activate the sim card first, then use an adapter (or cut down) to fit the desired device.

Post on slick deals, this thread is about add a line.

Just give then your DL n CC.

yupp this works for me they never even bat an eye

the guy in front of me at the apple store was picking up 2 iphone 5S and he was wearing his headphones like he was listening to something and the rep didn't ask him anything except did he want a receipt. I was right next to him and he wasn't listening to anything but the rep (headphones were off) but when the rep looked his way he pretended to be busy listening lol, it was great. at one point he got a call and whispered "I'm almost out it's a go!!!"

450 Talk, No Txt and UDP doesn't recreate new UDP line for in store purchase. I did try online and it gave me that option but not in the store. Lucky for me, I still have another line with 700 Share unlimited and data.

I'm back.. now to find all my contact to get rids UDPs. :(

Quick question, how long does it take for a pending activation to typically fall off if we used the BB method to keep our UDP?

Yes.

From all I have read, the T&T data discount WILL survive an AOL so you may be able to get someone to AOL the TDP line from you. Lots of people never use more than 2GB and paying only $10 for a 2GB data plan would appeal to them if they needed to add a line or to substitute for an existing TDP line.

So you could avoid the ETF altogether if you got someone to take the TDP line with the discount.

In fact if wasn't sitting on 5 UDP lines, I should take it from you for my mother, lol! She never even uses 1GB of data per month let alone 2.

Some people have had luck with the ship to home option but it is hit or miss.

----------

Have the rep put a PDI on the line when you authorize the AOL.

I've tried asking for a PDI they always say no!!

No just the line and I won't give them to anyone without putting their phone on the line first. Then they can do what they want with the already activated SIM card after the phone is on the line.

I absolutely would not attempt to AOL a $45 UDP line with a MiFi or tablet on it. You are asking for them to remove your UDP.

The recipient either has a phone and a SIM or I won't do it. Marky says I worry too much but I am not trying to do 50 lines here and for the small number of lines I am doing, this is working fine.

Actually got paid after following your advice to making it into mhs. Since I am not able to be there to do the process for them. My plan is to tell them to call the AOL # and except it and get a 4g phone and activate the sim and pop out the sim and put it in any verizon jet pack. Or can I have them give me there imei of the phone and when I am calling to release my line have that added during the process?

My other plan was using one of my dead sim card, and old 4g phone I have laying around and have the aol rep activate the sim prior to AOLing the line over. Then mailing the sim card to them and have them put it on there mifi device. Am I wrong in my thinking process ? I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for the new owner.

you'd have to call afterwards.
loyalty plan does not really exist in the wild.

I ask for their IMEI and SIM card number. Then you can either go online and put the phone on yourself or go on chat and have the chat rep do it. The person needs to be available to turn the phone on when it has to be turned on. I tell them to make a test call to #832 and if that is successful, then I authorize the AOL. If they are using a SIM that has been associated with another number it can take up to 20 minutes for the SIM card to be associated with the new number. They need WiFi off and cellular data on.

Then they can call and accept the AOL and if they are a new Verizon customer, register for online access and change the phone number if they would like. The SIM is ready to go into a MiFi the minute they accept the AOL.

Then I check to see they actually take the line. Usually takes under 1/2 hour to see the line gone from my account.

does that mean we need to convert it to subaccount first?
rtft.

What are you telling them?

If you put the Sim from Smartphone into Mifi, that smartphone is free to be used on any line ?

There is one seller selling Verizon Sim Cards. Easy to send activated Sim card to buyers after AOL if they plan to use as MiFi.

Yes, putting the MiFi on the line kicks the smartphone off and now the smartphone can be used on any Verizon line.

Yes, but in the interim period when they have the line and your phone is still on it b/f they put the SIM card in it, people can create problems for your phone if they are malicious.

So what I would suggest is that you suspend the line w/o billing, send the activated SIM card to them first, when they get it, unsuspend the line and have them put it in the MiFi to get the smartphone off of the line and then AOL the line.

If they play funny games with not AOL'ing the line, you call Verizon and tell them the SIM card was stolen and the SIM card will be marked as stolen in Verizon system.

Also there is no need to buy SIM cards if you are activating the phones on the lines. But if not, then yes you would need to get SIM cards. VARs will sell them to you, too.

If your sending your SIM card out first, then your sending them your account, and if they don't get approve for the AOL after you've sent it can't they mess with your account. But then I guess you can just call and report it lost.

I just edited my post so please reread it. You should suspend the line w/o billing before you send the active SIM card. Then unsuspend when they get the active SIM card and continue on.

No one can ever mess with your account unless they know the billing passcode or the last 4 of your SSN or you make them an account manager. If lots of people know the last 4 of your SSN, then create a billing passcode.

How to Create $15/mo 30 Minute Loyalty Plan UDP Line

Apparently one of my posts was deleted, idk why. This the ABSOLUTE LAST TIME I AM EXPLAINING THIS FOR REAL!!!!!!!

Do not PM me about this. I will not respond.

1) Convert a line into a NationWide 450 min individual plan, payg text, UDP line; and
2) Call Verizon and ask that the minutes be switched to the $15/mo 30 Minute Loyalty Plan but that you want to keep UDP.

That's it. That is all you do.

Yeah forgot about the suspending option. Well you've convinced me Jules, thanks

I have never done an in-store purchase but supposedly you can't add a new UDP line in-store if you are starting from a 450 minute plan.

Not trying to convince any of you of anything, just pointing out options.
