Yup, did this yesterday for the first time and it was ridiculously easy. Saw something about setting up a VPN to avoid detection so now need to look into that further. Took about 15 minutes total and $5 for tetherme app.

Quick question, Do you think this will be easy to perform with the Note 4 and Iphone 6 or 6+?

Too much work? You download a free program, plug your phone into computer, hit start on computer, let it run for about three minutes, buy the tetherme app for $4.99, click install, set a wifi password and enjoy your mhs. She won't even notice that it is there unless you tell her.

Yes, I did it on iPhone 6. Works flawlessly.

The question becomes is whether or not this loyalty plan is just for a year. I don't think that it is because usually they allow you to stay put on a plan, right? Again, this morning I was able to get the loyalty plan started on a dumb phone.

Yes, finally decided to just do it and it was easy.

On hold with Verizon now and still can't get them to move my TDP to a subaccount. Just want to free up one line so I can get a fifth UDP on my account. Have tried six times so far since Monday. Wondering if something really has changed in their system. Today's rep keeps saying there is strange error message. Told this rep I wanted to keep the same plan and she said I should change it to 450 with 2gb of data but she can't get it to work. Anybody up with suggestions? Haven't done any account has 1400 UL T&T with 4 UDP and one TDP.

Success. She said it is 450 NW plan with 2gb for $89.99/month but still get $20 T&T discount and I confirmed that I could merge it back if I changed my mind.

That's exactly what I did in order to get the $45 loyalty plan option. It's solid and legit. I figured the earlier I would get a jump on this today the easier time I would have.

Last night I ordered a gold iPhone 64GB by adding a line. They did the scan activation in store. Instead of just normally opening the phone up and turning it on, I left it unopened meaning the SIM wasn't fully committed to the phone.

Last night, I then changed the line from being on my family plan to a single 450 minute plan retaining unlimited data as per earlier discussion in the forums.

This morning, I wake up early because I have a few little ones and decided to take the risk. I asked for the loyalty plan on the new line. The first individual said that it wasn't an option at all. I called back. The second one said that a phone needed to be on the line. I mentioned that the new device was a gift and that it was all wrapped up.

The rep proceeded to ask if I had another dumb phone in the house for an MEID number. I said sure because we had my wife's old phone and he associated the number with this device. I looked on myverizon and it was all good! I then turned on the iPhone and the SIM automatically stayed with that number and on the loyalty plan.

The KEY I think is that you can't have a device active with the line or it won't work.
 
Still getting your request cannot be processed error on apple.com. Logged into Verizon and I can see there is an available line. Will go back and find the posts about what I need to change my plan to in order to be able to add a phone. I thought it was just if you couldn't see the UDP option but maybe I am wrong. Also, how to i view the line on the subaccount in order to suspend it?

FML I can't find where to change my plan online. Only options I have are to move to the more everything plans. What am I doing wrong? I do not want to screw up my account since my grandfathered plan is ridiculously cheap. Frustrated and thinking I should have just left it all alone.

I just submitted an order with success on apple.com so it's gotta be something with your account. One of my accounts seem to be done for. I have 7 out of 10 available lines and it's saying I'll need a deposit. Usually I'll only get that when I'm trying to get the 10th out of 10 lines. That or has been on fraud alert. Did about 60 on that account. Might be time to retire it since I need that account personally. Gonna ride through my friends account till this ends!

Sucks because I am just trying to get a UDP for my preteen. Now I have buggered up my account by moving her line to a subaccount for $90/month, I can't see it to suspend it and I can't change my plan to any other grandfathered plans as others have done in the past. Guess I took too long to get the courage up to do it. Now I need to figure out how to fix my screwed up account. Wonder how much this mess is going to cost me, all because I wanted to get her back on UDP. Should have done this two weeks ago. :(

Not seeing it. I clicked on the Change Plan button on the main screen. Will try it from the main line in a sec and see if it shows anything different...

Can't find that option. I see the warning about UDP in a blue box at the top, then Choose Your Plan Options then Your Devices then Plan Options then a section with We have tools/compare plans/choosing the best data plan then the regular website links at the bottom.

Any suggestions? Makes me sick to think I only pay $19.99/month for my unlimited everything plans and will now have to pay $40 for her ******* 2gb line
 
Does anyone know if you can have the same basic phone on 2 Verizon lines if 1 of them is suspended? I don't have a spare basic phone.

I can't see it to suspend it and I can't change my plan to any other grandfathered plans as others have done in the past.
You need to register for online access to the subaccount. Go to verizon online, click register and type in her phone number. Her phone will get a text with a PIN. Then you can create a user ID and password for the subaccount.

Also you can reverse what you did but you have to file an inactive pricing request to do it unless a rep can do it for you.

Thanks, Jules. I think something on my account is blocking me from adding the new line, most likely the special T&T discount. Didn't you have a similar issue initially with your special text feature? How did you finally get around it?

What is it that you are trying to do? That is on the verizon site. I though you were adding a line via apple.com?

Also you can paste a screen shot into Paint if you are on a PC and then use the eraser to erase any personal info or use the box tool to make a box around it and then hit delete. Then save the file and then upload it.
