Never done it in store and wasn't planning to. This new line is for my personal use.
yeah there is no benefit to stocking up on these lines now unless you want to rent UDP lines or we find out that businesses can still AOL UDP lines, which from what AutoLode posted is a no-go.

----------

I guess it's over. Now I have to study about the rental business. ;)
The only thing about the rental business is that these are not data only lines. How do you stop someone form popping that SIM in a phone and using it to rack up minutes/texts charges?

You could tell them it was a data only line and wouldn't work for phones but if they tried it they would know that was false. Or you could have them sign an agreement that they would use data only, but that would alert them that they could use it as a phone and if they did you would have to sue them to recover on the contract breach.

I suppose you could just monitor the line every day for usage/device and suspend it if they used the SIM in a phone.

You guys need to hang out around call center and get aol csr to be you friends or better yet get a job there.

Jules,

I'm not sure if this is possible but you seem well versed with Verizons practices, so maybe you could shed some light. if I purchase a phone from Apple with UDP, and put a dumb phone on it, and it drops the data and I cancel out the line will I be hit with the $175 ETF or a $350 ETF?

The reason I ask is because if you sell the phone for 650 - 200(iPhone) - 175 ETF - 50(prorated and activation fee) = $225 not as good as before but its nice pocket change.

Have you guys tried AOLing to a new customer? The reason I ask is cause the rep I spoke with read me the whole message that they received and said specifically "it says you can't AOL UDP to an existing customer. But it doesn't say anything about a new customer." She did go on to say that its probably the same for both, but wasn't sure.
That would be awesome if new customers could AOL a line - we would be back in business!!!

You could block text services on Verizons website. But that won't help against Voice as you mentioned.

Verizon gives you good control over lines you can block features texts and etc. I wonder if there is a way to remove minutes charge of 9.99

Sad thing about it is I've tried many many times this morning all ready with both an existing, and a new customer... seems to be dead :confused:

Since t-mobile offers 15$ a month plan we can buy more iphones and port new lines into t-mobile up to five lines trade in some cheap verizon phones buy some cheap t-mobile phones and month later we get etf gift cards.

Where is the T-Mobile plan at $15? I don't see that anywhere.

Before the August 24th deadline I added a new basic line b/c I thought it was best to do in case someone developed a method whereby you could transfer basic line upgrades to each other and not get stuck with a data plan.

Anyhow, I bought an iPhone 5s and flipped it and put a basic phone on the line and dropped the data plan. The line was inadvertently cancelled and the etf was only $175.

Now having said that, this line did not have the asterisk on it. The new lines all do so I don't know what would happen now.

Yes, someone needs to try this. But if you cancel the line w/in 3 days there shouldn't be an activation fee I believe. At least there isn't when you return the phone idk if you don't return the phone.

Be careful doing too many of these b/c you will certainly trip a flag.

It's not a minutes charge it is a line access fee.

IT is wearable plan for samsung watch. I have line I use nexus 5 on it
well that plan wouldn't qualify for the etf gc I am sure. You have to buy a phone and a phone plan to get the etf gc.

when you read through the FAQs, the only plans that qualify are the Simple Choice plans. Minimum for 1 line is $50/mo and for 2 lines $80/mo.

TMobile said:
In order to qualify for this ETF offer, you must be switching from a postpaid plan on a contract with another carrier and port your current numbers to T-Mobile. You would need to trade-in a mobile phone or tablet and purchase a new device with T-Mobile on a qualifying postpaid Simple Choice plan (you would not be able to sign up for a T-Mobile prepaid or Simple Choice Family Plan with no credit check). All lines must be activated in the same T-Mobile market with the same billing address.

You only get to do this once so you would have to do all of your lines at once.

Do we call the business line to authorize aol then ?

Just so you know, had you not AOL'ed the line and still had the line in your account and did an exchange for color you would have lost your UDP. This is because they process an exchange as a return/repurchase and when the repurchase goes through the line is kicked down to 2GBs.

If you don't like the model/size/color of a phone and want to keep UDP your ONLY option is to return and have that completed. Then reorder from scratch.

You can do replacement phones (which are currently brand new devices but you don't get the box/accessories) for hardware defects but they give you the same model/size/color.

Ok. There were 2 options allowed on his handheld, either return or exchange. The Apple Store rep said the exchange process would not affect the verizon plan. If the exchange option didn't show up, then he would have to process this as a return instead. Maybe he was mistaken on the exchange process then. Oh well.

so awesome, you can sell those too!!!!! :D:apple::D:apple::D:apple::D:apple:

idk but the receiver needs to have a business account.

Are the used sims really worth anything? Their only to bypass the activation screen or am I wrong? I thought they were dead after an aol and selling the phone to another person

Man so somebody did get triple digits! I was getting so close! Did you do this on multiple accounts? I did about 90 on two accounts.
