Porting number out and then back in
Hello, I am helping a friend port their number from Verizon and then back to Verizon. The process was simple when I did it, but this time we used Virgin Mobile. Here's the details:
I got an unlimited data line for him on my plan, his number is currently on his plan. So i ported the number out (from his parents plan/account) to Virgin Mobile, which took about an hour or less. Then I tried to port the number into my account on the unlimited data line it would not let me.
What I have figured out is that the line shows it is suspended pending a future dated disconnect on his parents account so it will not allow me to port the number back in to Verizon until his billing cycle (12/23!!!)
Any idea how to get this through faster? How to get the pending disconnect disconnected today?

His parents need to call Verizon and tell them to push the cancellation through. It can be done, you just have to bug them.
Have them tell the Verizon reps that he is just porting back to Verizon. That should help.
If you are trying to use the online system to port back to Verizon, it will never work no matter how long you wait. You must call.
If you haven't called yet, do that first as that is the only way to port back into Verizon.
Update on my text messaging showing 800 per month on my unlimited line. My bill came and it didn't show a text messaging plan on the line or was I billed for any. I use google voice so I don't need any. The unlimited is showing intact on my bill however so I'm not going to call about it. Thanks again Jules!

Are you able to send and receive pictures on Google voice? Last time I tried it I was not able to.
I believe I was.. There were a few saying they tried but I don't remember if they ever confirmed

Remember there are literally thousands of V reps some are fantastic some are slightly less glorious. I got "Latisha" in Georgia a few times and that girl can spin the world on her fingertips!!! If at first you don't succeed hang up and call back
Remember!!! DON'T ASK ABOUT UDP !!!!! DON'T EVEN BRING IT UP !!! sorry enuf yellin ! Simply ask to move the line 100% exactly like it is on the donor account and move it into your account with no changes what so ever !!!
Latisha got my delivery address for my 6 changed after I had given up all hope. She can move mountains. I told her to keep my number and I'd buy her lunch if she got to Hawaii. BTW unless anyone thinks I was hitting on her, I'm a married female.
Tried on Thursday to Saturday to get UDP but wasn't able to.
Had to create a new verizon account?
Got the line on Ebay awaiting for AOL
Never clicked the accept on the AOL because every time they sent me a Terms and Conditions it would only say "Nationwide 450" without the UDP.
I told them I wanted everything the number had.
They documented everything and every call I made.
They said the computer would remove it
I caught one of the Manager / Supervisor named Ray (midnight crew) he told me "I am not going to lose my job over this" so he didn't. Emily was the rep.
Second call was to Sharol (afternoon) told me because I was a new customer or had no "history" I told her I will call tomorrow and I will have history. She got upset at me. She then told me I will have to be on an existing more everything plan, I told her I will have it by today and then call tomorrow to have history and more everything plan and then do the aol. (didn't have time and the place closed I live 1 hr away from vz store)
Third one was to Simma (evening crew) Told me she is the best customer rep I will have and if she could she would do everything for me and so on, bs. She told me I couldn't because "insert verizon history" I told her I got to go. She also told me that next month they will crack down on people who have udp after 13th nov. and remove them and put them on another plan. (??) She also told me VZ will crack down and make it harder for people to keep their UDP in the future.
They kept referencing the policy change.
I even tried to send it to different emails like I never called the first time.
Friday took average of 47 minutes per call. Around 11pm was 15mins.
I'm not sure who were able to after the 20th or around now that came through but I would love to hear how you guys got around it if possible. Or I'd love to be on someones plan for reoccurring payment. At&T is messing up on their LTE giving me Sprint speeds everyday in different states and locations and even now Sprint 3G is faster than their LTE.
Is it because I didn't try enough times?

during the AOL process it won't show the data plan in the confirmation email so that is normal but with whats going on lately I can't say the "computer" won't remove the UDP. Strange how everything we hear from Big Reg is "next month" or "next year" they are going to do this or that to UDP I think if it was a real concern it would already be "done"

I had a buddy on a 3 way call doing an AOL Nov 12th and she did everything we wanted with a snap of her finger! Our call got cut off early and my buddy was like "dude do you have her number" lmao he wanted more Latisha (btw maliu I'm dreamin of Oahu's Northshore I'll be there in just over a week for the Eddie http://www.quiksilverlive.com/eddieaikau/2014/)

yup that's what a normal UDP AOL agreement page would look like
450 mins NW - $39.99 is correct
Usually in the email they also send you the UDP would show up on a single line that was easy to miss
It did make us nervous not seeing the UDP listed but they always went through for me
I remember Latisha telling us to "trust her"
Again that was then (pre 11-13) I dunno about now

That is the correct amount for the NW Talk 450. The data plan is on top of that. You won't see the data plan on that screen.

They said also that once it goes through the system strips the UDP because it is after the 13th of nov.
So even if the plan 450 nationwide doesn't show the UDP in the plan description shouldn't the pricing of it be different? or not?
remember that's just the price for the minutes portion of the plan not the entire plan price
yah if somethings going to happen it will be the kind of thing you're dealing with and they won't wait for a future "boogie man" date to do it

IMO I personally would not want to be on either end of an AOL at this point so I don't blame you for being careful
