So remember David Han the scammer? PayPal decided to rule in his favor today. Despite a long list of evidence showing his history and the legitimacy of the device that I sent him. I am officially never using PayPal again.

I had a PayPal Scammer who got ruled in his favor...temporarily...until I escalated...so if you haven't...Please try!

Many of their systems can be automated to decline your claim. You gotta escalate (and try to get an American!)

(It took 2 months to win my claim....)

That's too bad. So did they rule he can keep the phone and doesn't have to pay you?

Unfortunately, that rules out Swappa since they use PayPal. What payment service will you go with now? Does Dwolla offer buyer/seller protection?

Is the scammer required to return the phone to you before reciving refund?
I would email the scammer that you are contacting local police department

Did you use the USPS? If so, I would start there with reporting him giving the USPS all of the evidence you have. If you didn't use the USPS, I would still file a police report. The police won't do anything but you need to show you are serious that the device was stolen from you b/c that is what has happened.

Also, I would report the device as stolen to Verizon to get it blacklisted. Just make sure that you have all of the evidence compiled showing that is was not blacklisted when the scammer received it. Check with Verizon about what to do to unblacklist it if you get the phone back.

I would appeal the paypal decision, and read the terms of service to get an idea of where to start with suing them and the scammer.

Yes insist on the phone being returned. If the phone is not returned and you get a chargeback, then the phone was stolen from you.

Account Advice Needed: I was in on this game. I am having the same problem as some of the posters earlier had mentioned. When I dial *611 it will not work. I need to call verizon to have this fixed... I'm afraid of the blacklisting of the IMEI numbers.. I know that I would have some pissed off customers...

Can someone please advise on how to handle this situation with Verizon... I don't even know what department to contact... Thanks in advance

I would raise hell with everyone that I can. Contact bbb, contact usps, contact your credit card company which you bought the phone with, contact swappa, escalade with PayPal.
A crime/scam is committed and we know who has done it. File a police report and claim it with your credit card company. File a policy report where he lives. A lot of them will probably give you the run around, but all of them have better resources than you.
Certainly I can understand if at some point you just want to cut your loss (money and time) and move on. Flip side of the same coin, all of these companies have more resources than you.

I think whoever in Verizon that blocked Jules account probably operate with the same mentality. They have time and the resources to block all of us. If they have one person who does not call back, they got a few lines back. Even if they just delayed you for a few months, they can show someone they're doing something to combat all these upd lines that got loose in the wild. Think about how big companies burry the little guys in paperworks...

Good luck guys.

You need to call Verizon from a land line 1 (800) 922-0204 or another Verizon customer's cell phone. Do not put your phone number in when you call them - put another verizon customer's phone number in. Then when you get a rep on the line, give them your phone number and billing passcode or last 4 of your SSN.

Are you disconnected or just suspended? Or neither yet? You need to talk to fraud. I don't have the fraud number off hand but customer service can transfer you. They close at 8pm eastern time I believe.

Also, check your IMEIs here:

www.swappa.com/esn

Pay off your balance in full on your account/subaccount immediately.

Ok so almost an hour with PayPal and I got the decision reversed. I told them the second time I called to send his information over to their fraud department. Apparently they didn't do this. Still hate PayPal. Glad I just sold my last iPhone today.

Goodbye UDP, sweet dreams!

Aw does this mean you are leaving this thread for good? Where will you be the Nexus 6 XDA forums?

Guess what I just bought? A Moto X 2014!!!! I was holding out for the N6 but I couldn't resist the Moto X Cyber Monday sale and I got a new Moto X with a sweet leather back! If the bootloader can't be unlocked or the phone can't be rooted by the end of January, I will sell it and get an N6.

I really, really like the touchless controls and assist on my Moto X so it will be hard to give it up, but if there is no free WiFi tether, the phone has to go. Where is the chinese guy with the unlock codes?!!?!?! Since Lenovo took over Motorola, they cut off his access!! Sucks.

Lol I check in every once and awhile. I was looking hard at the Moto X as well, just to small for me. I have a Nexus on the way to me, I'm patiently waiting for USPS.

Does anyone remember how to bypass the stuck activation screen that requests your social and zip?

I will likely get the N6 too b/c I don't think the Verizon Moto X 2014 will ever get unlocked/rooted. But I will sell it and will likely recoup what I paid for it when you figure in the discounts on the accessories I bought. I also got an incredible deal on last years' model of slim power packs. So it was worth it to me.

If that doesn't work, just return for a warranty replacement.

What sort of accessories did you get that made it worth it? I was thinking about getting one for my fiance and sell off her S5. I got on of the Monday codes but haven't used it.

I returned my N6 today. It was a very nice phone, but the battery couldn't handle anything compared to my 6+. I could easily kill the N6 in 12-15 hours with moderate/heavy use with maybe 4-4.5 hrs SOT with 100% wifi use. Have to say I stuck with my jailbroken 6+ more than the N6 and I LOVE nexus devices. Hopefully I'll come back to it later just for the fun of playing around with android. I truly think those screens are overkill and aren't worth the sacrifice in battery life.

Well unfortunately some I got are sold out, but they may come back in stock before the 15th:

The P4000 power back is BOGO1/2Off so I got 2.

Then I got screen protectors, too. I wanted the power pack micro but it was sold out when I ordered.

Surely with the expertise on this board someone can come up with a plan to make this beneficial to Vzn customers. LOL Will not work for my area due to coverage.

Sprint's Cut Your Bill Event for Verizon and AT&T Customers

All lines must be ported from an active wireless line at another carrier and remain active and in good standing for at least 45 days to receive the prepaid card. Register through March 15, 2015. Allow 12 weeks for your prepaid card to arrive.

If someone who is stuck with an udp line.... But would you really want sprint as a carrier?

And udp now again is valuable.... Up to at least a few hundred.... Unless you can truly utilize sprint service or sure you can get half off for everything with comparable coverage... I will hold onto my upd lines until....

So the new plan requires phone purchase at full price. I wonder if used phone can be activated on sprint also sprint requires you to trade in phone or 200 charge will be applied.

I'm going to see if I can put my old AT&T UDP to good use. I pay $53.88 before taxes with my corporate discount ($61 with taxes) for 450 minutes, 200 texts, and UDP. If it works I'll grab a 4s from Swappa, buy a 16GB iPhone 6 from Sprint for $650 and if they'll really give me UDP, unlimited voice and text for $26.94 plus tax I just might pull the trigger. I would be even after about 2.5 years and would still have my VZW UDP for coverage. Alternatively, I'll take that offer to AT&T retention and see if they will give me a further break or let me port my number to VZW while leaving the UDP open.

or let me port my number to VZW while leaving the UDP open.
So you are going to ask ATT Retention to let you keep your UDP line but port your phone number on the line to Verizon?

Please keep me posted on how that goes!!

I'll give that a shot. Others have said that the normal reps can't do it. But perhaps if Sprint is crazy enough to give me a $27 UDP with unlimited text and data, AT&T would be reasonable enough to let me port out my number but keep my $54 UDP with 450 minutes and 200 texts.
