Question- this account is in my wife's name- will she have to go in to the store to pick up and activate or will I be able to do it as I'm on there as an authorized account contact? Hoping she doesn't have to be involved as she's already about tired of me talking about all this.

only account owner can pick up or Apple needs to call Verizon. Not good idea.

Where are you guys going to sell or get rid of your unlimited lines? I'd love to know how to turn them over so quickly. Seems like the market is getting saturated with them currently.

Hi everyone, I want to ask how you guys have been ordering iPhones off Apple successfully. I've been through 3 refreshes and can't get my hands on an iPhone!! Is there an optimal way to do it? Right now I have an iPhone in my cart, then when iStockNow sends me an alert I try to check out as fast as I can...well that hasn't been working for me so far. Guess I'm just really unlucky :(

Just want to get a new iPhone, not looking to flip phones/lines or anything, is that too much to ask? lol

I got 2 today, lol!!!!! Showed up at the apple store in time for opening - they applaud you as you walk in the store, lol!
That is so ridiculous. You sure you didn't save a bunch of orphans from a burning building in your sleep last night and not realize it made the news?

Got my first one today- IP6 16GB and on my way to the store shortly. Any tips or things to avoid getting it activated in an Apple Store?

Thanks.

When I picked up in store, they scanned the box, which starts the activation process (of the line I think). You will sign a Verizon agreement and to validate that you picked it up.

Some overly helpful employees will want to open the box and help you set it up. I told them it's a gift, so I don't want to open it. Opened at home, turned on wifi and finished activating the phone(s) with no problem.

First guy didn't care that I didn't want to open the box. Second woman was chatty - "Who is the gift for, that's really generous, are you sure you don't want me to help you set up the phone?"

I'm just looking for a place to unload my unlimited data and I hope that I can find a location to do it because I have already sold the phone. Whoops... Probably should have gotten rid of the line first. Oh well, hopefully someone will take it.

Any word as to where a good location is to unload these lines? Is eBay the way to go about doing it?

Wait are you not supposed to activate the phone if you add a line and add unlimited? Cause I did it that way and turned on the phone without being on wifi, and unlimited is still there. I'm slightly confused now.

I was psyched that I was able to get 1 today lol. That's great that you were able to get 2! The Apple gods are finally rewarding you :)

You are supposed to activate it - i just wanted to describe the process for macman06 because he asked about avoiding having them activate it in store.

I followed the way I've seen other post about it. Let them scan the box in store but don't open it in store. Open it at home.

It will probably activate fine on cellular but I think the phone prompted me to turn on wi-fi to activate. Sorry if I was confusing.

Also... Just go into the store and buy the things. Don't need to mess around wit online BS

I've been trying to lock in a silver or gold so that's the reason for the online order. I guess from now on I'll be going into the store. My store is always so freaking busy though! Plus I miss out on my 5% shopdiscover cash back :(

No worries at all. just got a little worried. lol. But all good its almost been 30 days and all three accounts still show unlimited. lol

Just got the first bill since doing this. We unloaded 10 phones, kept 2. We weren't charged a single $35 activation fee. Is this normal?

Whhhhhhat?

I wondered about how big of a bill I was going to get with activation fees. This is interesting.

I think some of you guys are confusing the issues.
There are TWO things that's going on.
1. Get UDP lines with apple.com hole. For this you can and should activate your phone. Why wouldnt you? Some people worry that an open box will decrease the resale value, but most people dont really care. (To certain degree). Also it maybe easier/wiser to get that sim out of the phone before you ship. When they scan in the apple store, the line is activated, not sure why you wouldnt just activate the phone...
2. Get iphone for subsidized price. This is when you probably shouldnt activate the phone in the store. If you have an old sim at home, you should do it at home. This is also when most people get into trouble with pending activation, or what have you.

At least that is how i understood the issues. This is why, i think, Jules turned some of you away from here and pointed you to slickdeals. There are TWO different things!
Just my 2 c.

I just got this message...
"Cannot add a new line.

You have reached the maximum number of lines allowed on this account type."

I have one spot left on my account. I hope it's just a temporary verizon issue. May be a holdover from an AOL'd line?

I'm now seeing this as well, and so is a friend of mine. Both of us have individual plans with several spots left. I've only got a single line on the plan at the moment, but had AOL'd 3 so far this month.

Is anyone else hitting this?

Mine are individual lines too, which apparently only allow you to have 3 lines at a time. Had 2 filled when I got the warning.

Would love to know more about the activation fee. That would be GOOD. As long as the lines are intact.

Also where can I get info about the pricing of the national family share plan? I would love to figure out the approx bill amount I'm looking at right.
