I know you all know to be safe when dealing with people on eBay

Someone attempted to scam me on a iPhone 5s sale

The scammers email is on the right. He spoke to me via text and asked me to ship him the package and that the payment would clear by Monday (lol, I would NEVER ship it off)

Decided that he was a scammer and decided to investigate the email. Yeap, severe inconsistencies.

So I made a new account and one order went through without issue. Did another order and got declined again. I think it has to do with the credit card used. Oh well.

OMG you've hit 40. You guys are blowing me away.

If you made two apple ids that won't work because it's still the same verizon account. You will need two verizon accounts ie. Yours and a family members/friend/minion

----------

Thank you. Super excited to do a 1st. What do I need from the other person to call in?

Just the person's name really and if they are a new or existing customer and a contact number is okay but not necessary.

I don't understand - did you not get the payment? Sorry never sold on ebay so idk.

Besides the fact that I did not receive the payment via Paypal (doesn't show on my account as pending)

The inconsistencies between both emails are obvious.

The text at the bottom on a real Paypal email (left) is smaller, and then becomes a different color for the most bottom text.

The button is of worse quality on the right side (scammer's)

I clicked on the sender's email on the right side and it says @gmail.com, when a real paypal sender would have @paypal.com

My name is shown on the left (real) side, but not on the right side

etc.

So people what should I do here. I knew something was really fishy. There's been this girl that has seen me and kept digging I on how I'm doing this and why. I gave her short answers last time and was hoping I didn't get her again. She wanted to know which plan wanted and everything and looking over my shoulder. So this time she actually went through the credit check and said do you want a two year contract or buy out right screen. Then she said whoops I hit the wrong key. The second time we went through the credit check it came up with some other screen and said I'll be right back I gotta get more info. She went to some other associates for about 15 minutes and came back saying somebody wanted to speak to me. This girl says that my account is being placed on hold and being taken a look at and the fraud team will call me back within 72 hours. Thinking back she didn't introduce herself or anything. I started to call Verizon to see if my account is on hold but I was on hold for 30 minutes so I hung up. Tried to do a pickup from store credit check on apple.com and see if there would be an issue and it went through perfect. Did this girl just con me? I'm thinking bout getting this girl fired but also don't want to raise anything that could stop this....

How long ago did you place that other order? Make sure it doesn't get cancelled. But no I wouldn't raise anyone's attention about it especially when you are dealing with these lines . Wait and see what happens.

Why wouldnt you? It's a UDP line. It should work with window's phone, andriod phone, and of course apple phone....

Just wanted to be sure!

Thinking about getting the girl fired????? For what?? You do know that the Apple Store looks out for themselves, right? Lots of subsidized phone purchases looks suspicious.

She was doing her job. Do you think that she lied about the fraud alert or something?

I didn't complete the order. I just went through the credit check as I can no longer order a 6 as they have gotten cancelled a week back. I figured if it let me through the credit check then I should be golden since that's where it got "stuck" tonight. I really think this girl is up to something and is trying to sabotage me and I really want to talk to the manager. I'm going to the other store that's a little bit further than me and see if it goes through smoothly.

Oh, I get it now, they sent you a fake paypal email, lol!

You're not understanding. The girl is not out to get you; the whole store is looking out for itself so they don't get a chargeback from the 450.00 subsidy they get from Vzw.

Again, she is doing her job.

I really do believe I was not talking to the "fraud team" at Verizon. That's what I honestly believe. The person I talked to on the phone didn't even introduce herself. Also I'm not sure what the screen said. She was very sneaky with the phone and wouldn't let me see the error.

i am not sure what really happened. if it smell fishy, be careful. monitor your credit cards. lay low for a while. maybe it was apple's fraud, rather than verizon? Call verizon first thing in the morning, that way you dont have to wait....

Why call and give them opportunity to review his account especially if there really isn't an fraud hold on his account. Try a different store as he said and see if that works out..

What's even weirder is my friend who is doing it with me which went first with this girl (they put us together with one rep since we came in at the same time) got the "fraud" alert first and the person on the line asked for his full social security and everything and didn't mention anything bout a credit check or anything. And he just started so can't be flagged really. So we've been putting it together trying to figure out what just happened. It's just really fishy cause he just got off the phone with Verizon and they said ther is no hold and they could see it was "approved" and that you should've been able to add a line.

Yeah that's why I hung up when I was holding. I didn't want to raise anything. I'll just try tomorrow at the other store. If everything goes smoothly then I'll just have to avoid that store.

Anyone seen this before? Picked up 2 phones tonight. Have a 5s I've been using to shuffle sims in and out of. Everything went normally, until I put an IP6 sim in the 5s. Now I have this on a line. I switched the sim back to the IP6 it belonged to but it's still showing the "device suspended" message.

If you guys keep effing around with SIM card trickery you are going to run into problems with your lines. Just my 2 cents.

So I AOL'ed a line to a friend of a friend (luckily I still have the iP to return to reverse all of this) and the FoaF has the free mobile to any mobile promo on his family share line.

The line was a single line 450 individual plan with UDP. He AOL'ed it into his main account and they merged it into his family share. UDP gone.

Was the problem that he has free mobile to any mobile promo or was the problem that it was split off from my family share as a single line individual line first? Or was the problem neither - did he just get an idiot AOL rep who didn't know how to maintain UDP?

Or was the problem that these new lines have the asterisk requiring a minimum $30 data plan and they don't merge well?

Here's the problem... someone I AOL'd a line to reported my 5s stolen.

That's not good. That's a potential problem with aol the line first.
Yes Jules you are right. Next aol I do, will have them put a pdi on the line and tell the buyer get a phone on it asap.
