Trying to convince my sister to take an AOL line but she really wants to keep her phone #. Once transferred can she just switch #s between her old vzw line and this new one?
I don't think a single person on SDs was able to get Verizon to do that b/t an UDP line and a non-UDP line and many tried.

Search this thread and SDs for page plus option.

Really ? I didn't know that. What I do just transfer the old number to Google Voice. Well, just forward call & text from Google Voice to new number.

Actually if you port out to page plus for a $10 line and then port back in to your UDP Verizon line it is much quicker process and cheaper than Google voice method.

I had to port my number on my ME line out to page plus. Then I ported it to my UDP line on my sub account. This was the easiest option I could find.

This is true. I tired to get Verizon to do it but she was converting my UDP to a tiered line in the process. I told her no go once I realized she didnnt know how to give me what I wanted. I ask a lot of questions. I protect that UDP line with all my soul lol

Do you even need to pay for the $10 line to port out and then port back in?

Yeah, you really have to watch the reps.

Don't you need a line to port your number into? When you go through the process of porting in they ask you for a PIN which is a number you get when you buy a plan.

----------

Forgot to add that the process took a couple hours.

Takes 3 hrs to port to page plus and to port back to Verizon it's almost instant.

I haven't done it but according to this link, you can port for free - you just type in the IMEI number of the device on the line you are porting out:

https://www.pagepluscellular.com/activate/

My interpretation is that there is no additional charges or a fee for porting in. However I think you still need a plan to port into even if you don't use the plan and cancel immediately afterwards when you call Verizon to port back in. The reason I say is when you activate on page plus to get that port in you have to provide a PIN for the plan you purchased. They'll ask you for it.

Why call and give them opportunity to review his account especially if there really isn't an fraud hold on his account. Try a different store as he said and see if that works out..

Back in the game! I knew it was fishy. Me and my fiend have had 0 hitches the past couple times after this. Fraud dept my ass. That girl thinks she's an apple police.

Got to my PC at 2:02 PM

Refreshed, saw plentiful 6+ 64GB Gold (for myself) in stock, but they were all gone when I went to check out at 4 locations.

Sadness

urgh!! How frustrating it is. Be sure to take advantage of saved carts to make your checkout a speedier process. You have to click fast.

So is porting not done online? A human being has to call you to complete it?

This is correct, exactly what had to do to port my number to my UDP line. It's about $13 dollars with tax, not bad as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks! So after you fill out the form online, a rep calls you and you have to have a PIN for your plan?

do you need 2 UDPs line or just 1 NW Share Plan ? A friend wants to "join the fun" so not sure 1 Share Plan is enough.

Minimum you need is a single line NW family share.

Any Mobile T&T or the 550 family share plans won't work.

I filled out the form to activate a phone & port in a number from another carrier. I chose the cheapest plan I saw, $12.00 per month for 250 minutes, 250 texts & about 500mb of data (don't recall exactly). About 4-5 hours later my number was ported out of verizon to page plus, then I ported my number to my UDP line via my account online. It only took 10 minutes or so for my number to port back to my verizon UDP line.

The account number for page plus is your phone number & the pin is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Hey guys,

Had a friend that tried to add a line to his family share when he already had 5 lines. This caused an STI error in the store, so the apple rep called Verizon.

Verizon created a sub account and it ended up going on a more everything plan. He is going to take the phones back to cancel the line.

I've seen this happen a few times in the thread, so how long does it take until Verizon removes the lines from your account once you've returned a phone?

Thanks...

RTFT :D

I just did this yesterday!!!! You are supposed to make Apple call Verizon's Core Department when you return the phone. I couldn't get the effers to do it.

So I called Verizon and had a Verizon rep do it. The Verizon rep needs to call the Verizon Core Department to push the cancellation through so you can add a new line the next day.
