Since when does af&t not allow a UDP line via transfer of billing ? I just did one and UDP was intact.
Not according to what my relatives have been told by ATT's AOL department and I called to verify and was told the same thing. Also, this is what I am reading on the internet.

If you were able to do it, great but that is contrary to ATTs official policy.

When the Apple employee scans the phone box, does that create a PDI? Just wondering since someone said they never activate the phone and have AOL'd the line without a phone on it.
Not that I am aware of. But I also don't know what would happen if you sell the phone with that SIM card in it and it has never been activated.

Ok guys...can someone enlighten me?

I have a line with a number that I'm trying to keep so I'm doing the port out and port back in process using PagePlus. The first line went smooth. The second one was ported out to Page Plus. It is active and can make calls with the number I ported out of Verizon. When I go to my verizon that line is marked as suspended with the phone number that I ported out. How is that possible if the number was ported out and is now functioning in Page Plus? I'm trying to port the number back in from PagePlus but it's not working. I tells me this activity cannot be done at this time. I'm confused. When I did my first port everything went well. When I looked in myverizon the line was removed from the account. Why is this line on my second port stuck on myverizon?

When I ported out a number to Google Voice, it will show the line suspended until you call and reactivate with a new number or it cancels at the end of your billing cycle. I think you can activate it online too with a new number.

Don't worry. Verizon doesn't have that number anymore, as for the error you get when trying to port back: the online tool sucks. It never worked for me when I was porting numbers from Virgin and Google Voice. I had to call and do it over the phone, but the reps were fast and helpful.

Another user was unable to get the online porting in tool to work so he also had to call in.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but I thought marky had done a sale or two without evan opening the box

When the number was ported out of the Verizon line, did you log into your Verizon account and assign a new number to the line? You should do that ASAP.

In the past when I've had sealed box units the buyer always wants to open the box and inspect the device I've never seen anybody willing to hand over cash for a sealed anything

Sooooo what do people do when apple cancels orders??

My wife hit the limit on her Apple ID for iPhone orders, so I order them now and she picks them up. I use her card, and change the billing name to her. You could probably just make another Apple ID and use that for ordering. We haven't had an issue doing that.
If Apple cancelled for some other reason than it takes anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of hours for Apple to remove the pending iPhone order. I think we waited an hour at most.

I've tried my other Apple ID and same thing. I just tried to order an 5s instead of a 6 and see what happens. Still processing.

Someone posted that it was associated with the phone account. I however think its a combination of things. I got my original account shut down after I hit whatever mark. I then created a new apple account and placed an order, and used a different credit card (same verizon account mind you) and the order went through. I then figured everything was wonderful and ordered another, this time using my other credit card (because I like 5% cashback) and blamo order canceled.

Now every order from that account is marked. So I guess once you're coded you're coded and that is it as far is limit is concerned. I honestly haven't messed with it more to try and determine if my Verizon account has yet been flagged. I've just driven to the store the last two days.

Just authorized AOL for 2 new UDP lines- called AOL as I wanted PDI placed on them and the AOL lady was very curious about why anyone would take a two year contract without a phone since they couldn't upgrade. Went on to notice the UDP and had a few questions comments about how I had two new lines with UDP on them as that shouldn't be possible. I played dumb and didn't really offer anything. Anyone have similar experiences...have an explanation on standby?

I think your theory might be right then. She was able to do ~13-14 but we used a few different debit and credit cards when ordering. I did 5 on my account since hers was blocked. I'll have to go through and see which cards are safe to use now.

Ive had a few people ask why I want PDI. I just say my fiance AOLed a line once with the phone still attached and it caused all sorts of issues. They then say ok thanks and put the PDI on. One rep stated how she had UDP as well and wasn't letting it go unless they made her. Never really been questioned or even mention UDP other then that.

I would personally figure out what cards are good and then create a new account. Don't associate a card that's been used a lot with a new account or you're going to get that account zapped too. What I may try tonight or tomorrow is see if by having my second account flagged if the card I used the first (and only time) has now also been flagged.

A way to get around the credit card flagging is to buy Apple Store gift cards, that way you effectively have infinite numbers of cards you can use. I have learned from experience that its not the account they flag but the credit card number.

----------

So I have 8 phones I need to go pick up tomorrow (4 in one store and 4 in another). Is there any chance that the activations for all 8 lines will go smoothly with Verizon?

I some how have a sneaking suspicion that they are going to flag me for fraud as this has happened before when I purchased several phones.

Any chance that calling ahead and letting them know I have several lines being activated will avoid this from happening?

I got it to work by ordering a 5s. Picking up now. Hopefully it goes well. I may try again a 6 tomorrow.

----------

But I'll try another card and new Apple ID if it fails tomorrow. Or may try a 5s again.

Anytime a vzw agent gets curious and ask about new udp line on my account I just tell them I got it from a special limited promotion. They usually respond, "Oh, congrats. You very lucky cuz we don't offer that feature for a very long time now."

Slim to none and slim just left the building.

I wasn't able to do 2 in a row in one day.

I have 3 AMEXs - I was thinking about ordering with a different AMEX on the same iTunes account.

Its 100% your credit card.
So I should just use different credit cards on the same iTunes account?

----------

Ah crap I'm on my to pick up my second one now. In a one hour time frame
RTFT!!! lol! I posted all about my experience on Friday - I got a credit authorization denial and called Verizon and they said I was approved for those lines so they had no issue with it and couldn't explain why it happened. They said to involve the Verizon Activations team if it happened again. No thanks!

YMMV.
