Picked up my 5s on same account ! Just created a new Apple ID and used a different card to place another order for a 6. See how it goes

Picked up my first one, walked out the door did another order online about 30 minutes later got email to pick up my order. I'm currently waiting on a buddy of mine to see if I can do a SIM swap before I turn the phone on. Trying skip out on the activation fee. Since I'm not activating the Sim with the same phone it came in. Just curious to see what that'll do. She has at&t if that matters.

That will work. Where you have a problem is if you order a second before you activate the first. Or at least I did.

My relative's parent's got a divorce and as part of the divorce settlement the father paid for the kid's cell phones but they had to leave the account in the mother's name or the kid's would lose UDP based on what they were told by ATT. I called and confirmed it, too. Perhaps it is a YMMV kind of thing.

Read eBay listings may shine some light. My understanding is people basically have to buy the sim and then change info or something......

The mere fact that I JUST did this and the mere fact that others are selling have sold theirs on eBay and the mere fact that you can ask anyone on androidcentral about it being doable still proves you wrong. Sorry but I'm sure whoever that is got their info from a rep of all people. SMDH

You do not nor did you ever have to buy the sim when doing an TOB of a UDP for a phone. Not sure about an iPad etc.

I'm just telling you what ATT will tell you if you call and ask and clearly, I am not the only one who has been given this answer. It seems like it is a YMMV kind of thing.

OMG. You seem clueless when it comes to reps in general. REALLY? You are basing your assumptions on what a rep told you? You think AT&T reps are more believable than verizon reps ?? I mean really?? WOW.

I was able to activate 3 lines yesterday. Clearly 8 in 1 day is overly agressive, i am going to call VZW tonight to see if there is anything that can be done proactively to avoid credit hold, etc.

Glad people are having success with the gift card trick, so far it has worked without a hitch for me. Was able to score (8) Six pluses in 64gb thanks to the ole gift cards.

RTFT!!! lol! I posted all about my experience on Friday - I got a credit authorization denial and called Verizon and they said I was approved for those lines so they had no issue with it and couldn't explain why it happened. They said to involve the Verizon Activations team if it happened again. No thanks!

do you use separate gift cards for each transaction or just put a few grand on one card and keep using it ?

Gift cards will eat into my profits
 
I think the max is $2k per card. You can order online and it will be delivered in less than 2 hrs.

I have been using the same card twice, then move to another.
