Oh, I didn't realize this. I thought if a rep saw a tablet they'd remove the UDP and put you on a tiered data only plan. I was considering keeping a UDP for a tablet since they don't block MHS on iPads.
 
Weird, I just did 2 yesterday with UDPs. Will try to do 4 today.

Don't call Verizon while the sim is on Tablet or Mifi. :D

Got 1 for pick up later today. Not able to access private email from work computer, but my email's been texting me about 4 times saying I got some docs from verizon

If they're the same ones I've been getting they're confirming previous activations & AOL's.

They charged $30 for data plan, $10 for the line, and possibly $30 for activation. I deactivated it almost as soon as I activated--should I be charged for the whole month? Am I going to be charged next month?

Dude, Verizon bills 1 month ahead, so you are being billed for next month. But once you suspend the line, your bill will be adjusted with a credit.

Activation fee is $35 and no, you did not deactivate the line - you suspended it. The activation fee is for the creation of the line and there is no way to avoid it unless you play sim card tricks.

Seriously, if you don't know what you are doing perhaps you should get out of the game? Call Verizon all you want but you won't get out of that activation fee and you may lose your UDP too.

No need to be rude. I don't have time to spend all day reading the threads (even though I have spent several days actually reading both here and slickdeals). I'm trying to be careful.

I suspended the line two weeks ago. Are you saying I should not have those fees on my account right now?
 
Last night I went to the Apple Store to pick up another 6+ and as usual I received an "Analyst Review" notification. While the Apple rep seemed knowlegeble, she called Verizon sales rather than COR. During the call she ended up creating an additional contract on the same phone but this time with a 2GB plan. In the end her handheld was stuck on "Pending Approval" and I had to leave with no phone due to the store closing.

When I got home and logged on to Verizon the new line was active although I had no phone. I had to call Apple and cancel the purchase then Verizon to disconnect the line. Hopefully I can start over later today.

I think it is CORe and it is an internal credit review department. But yes, make sure that when you get the Analyst Review they call CORe, not the Verizons Activations Team (VAT).

If they call VAT, you are done - poof goes your UDP.

Thanks for the clarification.

VAT seems to know a lot more about your account than CORe. CORe appears narrowly focused on your creditworthiness. When speaking to VAT the Apple rep looked over to me, eyes wide, and whispered, "You have 37 lines on a personal account!?". I should have called it a day at that point.
 
We need someone to confirm this is still working instore! I'll be picking some up after work but wish I could confirm for everyone. #
 
Anyone knows what happens if you return a phone to apple that was bought on an added UDP line that has already been AOLed?
