Part II - UDP For Life

not 1 iPhone restocked in my store - worst - restock - ever

----------

Also - is anyone else annoyed by the 50 extra apple store employees that seem to stand around and do nothing except talk to eachother rather than help you out? A simple store pick up that should take 5 mins always takes me 25+minutes.

Yea someone hijacked the apple truck here too I don't get it nothing changed last nite it's like looking at yesterday afternoons inventory

OK I am back. There literally is no info at all about the Nexus 6 preorder. I guess I will start checking at midnight and then again in the morning and afternoon.

Is there any way to order it on your phone - I searched the playstore app and I don't see it but I can find it on my PC using chrome.

----------

When I updated my current UDP line I did not get the asterisk but in my CA the min $30/mo term is there.

I agree that it is a good argument that they agreed to a modification of the written contract by giving you the UDP on the line.

----------

That one should be fine - do a mock order than you will know for sure. It is the Any Mobile Talk and Text and the 550 minute Talk that are the problems.

I have a friend who tried to open a business account. She is a consultant and her business is an LLC but she doesn't have a B&M location for the business and no bills in the name of her business so the business doesn't have credit on its own and Verizon said no to letting her open a business account.

She makes quite a bit of money but her consulting business is all on-site for a major corporation so she has no need to rent office space. She offered the tax records of the business, which grosses over $350k/year, which she distributes to herself as salary pretty much as the business has few expenses, but they still said no.

----------

Does your business have a B&M location or bills in the business name?

Now to focus my attention on procuring a Nexus 6!!!!![/QUOTE

I keep checking google play like istock. what gives google? I wonder if it wont go live till noon time

guys I just engaged in some SIM card trickery against my better judgment. I suspended a line w/o billing and then popped an active SIM card from another line into the phone on the suspended line.!

So what was the result of your SIM swappage???

Has anyone had a complaint of someone losing Unlimited data using this trick?

I have successfully AOL'd over 15 lines and have had only 1 person have his account reviewed for some reason and get switched to the 6gb plan AFTER completing the AOL with unlimited intact.

I speculate it is because I accidentally activated the iPhone a few days after he took liability of the account but I don't know if he had put a phone on it or not.

Nowadays I just pdi and never open the box.

I've tried 3 times to do a PDI failed each time. Reps were totally confused what it was

Are folks getting pushback about the PDI. The first few I did without issue. Now today I tried to do two. One refused to PDI, said Verizon considers phone their's and won't remove it from that line. The other did it reluctantly and said to AOL quickly as she feared an audit. She said Verizon began cracking down on this a few weeks ago.

I do it with the AOL reps. I never activate the phone on the line so there's never a device on the line and I just said the last rep took the device off for some reason can you put a pdi on it so it can transfer. Usually works. I prefer it if the person already has a Verizon account as it can switch without a need for a device.

The last few times I tried with customer service they start getting nosey and look at all of the AOLs I have done lately and then transfer me to the fraud department and then I just hang up and try a different rep. I'm considering getting old iPhone 4s with good esns and just put them on the account as a temp phone with the volume I do.

It just sucks that I've done this so much that whenever I get new reps that don't know what they are doing it really slows the process. It once took 3 hours to AOL a line and that's with the person accepting the lines standing right next to me.

Some reps have no clue as I've gotten one that didn't even know what a provisional device was or how to do it and had me on hold to be on hold to talk to the AOL department on what I was asking.

Did you guys try during the day, or in the evening? I had a lot of inexperienced reps that made PDI's and AOL's very difficult at night lately.

Just don't activate the phone in the box and do an aol with the phone not attached

I thought that caused problems down the line if a person goes to activate it on the Verizon network? Fine if you're shipping overseas but not so much if doing US sales.

I read the Nexus 5 preorders started at 2pm eastern.

Success! At least for now. I have an iP5s on 2 lines at once but one of the lines is suspended.

So you have the AOL department put a PDI on a line that has never been activated with a phone and then AOL the line and sell the unactivated phone with the SIM card in it? Your buyer needs to put a device on that line right away b/c they are reviewed if they have a PDI on the line. If they put a device on the line they aren't reviewed.

even AOL department reps?

This is true. After about a week or so, the line will be reviewed so the new owner of the line will need to put a device on the line right away and cannot suspend w/o billing. If they don't put a device on the line or if they suspend w/o billing and are reviewed, they could lose UDP on the line.

Correct as it unties the sim in it.

I would go with a 4G LTE phone like a GNex not an iP4s. The reason is b/c the GNex is cheap and b/c Verizon codes a UDP with a 3G device on it differently than one with a 4G LTE device on it. If you AOL a line that you have switched to a 3G device, the person receiving it may get the message that the data plan is incompatible with their device when they go to put a 4G LTE device on the line.

It's not true that the data plan is incompatible, but they may have to involve Verizon to get a 4G LTE device activated on the line. I haven't switched b/t 3G and 4G LTE devices on a UDP line in awhile but I know people on SDs are still getting that message when they try to activate iP6 on lines that they had an iP4s on.

I edited my original post - did you see what I said about PDIs prompting a review? I can't get any reps to tell me exactly how long but it sounds like somewhere around 1 week.

Just did a PDI without any issues. I suggest avoiding the night reps like the plague! There's a Verizon national call center in my area and I've heard them advertising jobs openings quite a bit lately, which might explain the inexperienced reps.

People have tried that and it will work if the recipient of the AOLed line puts a new device on the line to bump the phone off of the line or if the person receiving the phone isn't activating it on Verizon. However, if the person receiving the phone tries to activate it with the SIM card it came with on the Verizon network, they can run into problems activating the phone. They need to use a different SIM card or understand how to activate the phone online to associate the SIM card with their account before they turn it on.

yeah the night reps don't know what they are doing. I had to hang up on 2 last night.

Removes the Sim Card.

How about if you activate the sim on another phones such as GNex or ip5 ? better to use 4g lte devices.

I agree but people want to sell them sealed. I am just pointing out the risks of doing it.

So take the SIM card out of the iP6 and put it in a 4G LTE device like the iP5 to activate the line and then put a PDI on the line b/f you AOL it? Then sell the iP6 unactivated but w/o a SIM card? I think that should work.

Definitely better to stick with 4G LTE devices.

Verizon continues to screw stuff up. The last few reps I have talked to have been stuck on the fact that the iPhone 6 is under contract. They told the last person while I was on the line with them that the phone was still on the line and was under contract and they couldn't remove it to put their phone.

OMG:mad::mad:

Yes, I think so. They're giving him trouble about the MEID, not the ICCID (ie. sim card number), but that could still be the issue.

He's going to try getting a new VZW sim card today.
Can you update us on this? Was he using the SIM card that was in the iP6 to try to activate the phone? Was he able to get a new SIM card and activate the iP6?

What about putting a PDI on the line? Weren't you able to get them to do that?

Does anyone think this is coming to an end? The last two times I've been in the Apple store, as soon as I said add new line, they questioned if I had UDP. They both then told me I couldn't keep UDP.

Now the last few times speaking with AOL they're really stuck on the phones being under contract, people transferring lines without phones, questioning me, questioning the other party, etc. I don't know if its just because the amount of calls they're becoming more aware. Or if there is documentation coming from the higher ups in the companies.

Do you guys have any advise on getting rid of the udp lines.I have just 3 that I am not able to get rid of. I've tried giving them away on ebay,sd,and craigslist with no luck. Where are you guys finding these people thats taking them?

I am sure the sudden spike in fraud alerts and AOLs and all these unusual requests for PDIs on lines that have never had phones activated and people who have had 37 lines on a personal account (lol!) have gotten the attention of higher ups.

I really should stop being so picky about what kind of phone I sell, because yes, it is only a matter of time before this ends.

Do you know any small business owners who would like UDP lines for their businesses? That seems to have worked the best for people.
