This wasn't an UDP line. I was porting the number out from a ME and porting back in to my sub account with the UDP. The ME line at one point was given a PDI because I didn't have a phone for it. The line then got suspended when I ported to page +. No idea why because with the first line I did, everything went smooth and within 24 hrs I had completed the entire port out port in process without issue. That line however never had a PDI so when I ported out the line automatically got cancelled. Anywho I'm just glad it's tesolved and everyone here is happy with their line.

----------

I just don't get it. What's not to like about an UDP on a reliable network like Verizon. People need to do the math. Numbers don't lie. I was paying over $220 for a miserly 4gb for 3 lines. I'd be "Fighting" with the fam not to go over their data each billing cycle.

I've offered to hook up some family and friends on unlimited data and I'm shocked by the lack of interest. I would be jumping all over it. Oh AND it's not throttled like AT&T.

That's what I'm wondering, I'm having the hardest time understanding why they are not jumping for joy at the offer of FREE UDP. There response are so lack luster

Did we ever figure out if someone can go back on their AOL? Once the line is off your account it is theirs correct?

It's b/c people aren't used to having to pay full price for phones and for many people they don't use enough data to justify paying full price for a phone.

My issue with friends/family has been that they are all already Verizon customers. That creates such a cluster trying to figure out savings/ ETF/ etc. But those who aren't on Verizon I just don't get it. Oh well.

Yes... There is no grace period... Unless they have the ability to return subsidized equipment.

RTFT, lol! I went through all of the paperwork associated with my AOL and not only don't I see anything that would allow someone to toss the line back to the person they got it from, the only way they can get out of the etf if they cancel the line is if they return the phone that came with the line.

I think what is happening is there is no separate CA for AOLs - Verizon just has you accept the standard CA. In the CA there is the term that you have 14 days to cancel the line w/o etf if you return the phone. I think that is where people are getting the idea they have 14 days to reverse the AOL. But that is not what it says at all. It says you can cancel the line w/o having to pay the etf if you return the phone w/in 14 days.

No where in any of the paperwork do I see the option of reversing the AOL.

But if you are on contract with ATT you would still have to pay an etf to come to Verizon PLUS you would have to buy a new phone full price. With existing Verizon customers they at least have the phone already.

And TMobile customers are cheap so they don't want to pay Verizon rates.

Son of a ! LOL. Sorry I've been stuck on XDA reading all about the Turbo and missed the past day of posts.

I haven't been to Apple store either in two days, I think I'm withdrawing. :apple::apple::eek:

So are you getting it? I would get it if you could unlock the bootloader.

----------

I am unclear on when and where you make the request to port your number (from GV or Pageplus).
What is your situation again? Are you currently with Verizon and what you are trying to do?

You can't use apple.com to do the port so stop asking about it.

Had a quick question...
If I have a Nationwide FS 700 plan with 3 numbers and would like to AOL 1 line, do I need to make a sub account and transfer that number out?
Can I also make one of the lines a Nationwide Individual 450 plan? Do I need to make it a sub acct to do that?

No. It will AOL as a single line 700 minute NW FS plan.

Can I also make one of the lines a Nationwide Individual 450 plan?
Yes - just make sure you are clear that you want to keep UDP.

Do I need to make it a sub acct to do that?
Not as long as you only have a family share plan in your account and don't have any individual plans in your account.

I don't think so. People are disappointed with the camera and other minor issues. I still haven't held one, but I still think it will be too small. I'm going to have to hold the Nexus before I make a final decision. I'm honestly really happy with the LG, just itching for something different.

As I understand it - once you accept the AOL line you can immediately put your phone on it (any 4G phone) and it is up and running - literally minutes if you have a decent AOL rep on the line (suggest only calling during weekday business hours).[/QUOTE]

Highly recommended calling during regular business hours. Stay away from the night crew. Speaking from personal experience

Porting Hell

Still no idea the process to port a number to the new UDP line, via Apple vs Verizon etc, and I seem to have entered porting hell.

One line is already ported to Pageplus, but still shows on my Verizon account as a suspended device. As others have done, I called Verizon to ask a CSR to delete the device. I was told there was no way for him to delete the device and I have to wait for the billing cycle to complete (21 days) for the device to fall off on its own. Unbelievable.

I will have to call another CSR later. Is there some magic phrase to use ?

Miss one day on this forum, and you have spend the next 2 and half hour to just catch up. Woo that's more reading than I've ever done in a semester of high school

From the hardware specs it seems like what ever problems there are with the camera should be able to be solved via software, no?

can't do it via apple for like the 50th time!!! Geez you are worse than some of the people on SDs who can't figure out the BB Method, lol!

This happened to someone else - they can cancel it but I believe they have to call CORe. If not, have them move it to a subaccount. Then you can add a new UDP line to the FS in your main account.

I have noticed that there are far fewer emojis being posted lately. Wonder what he is up to?

Also yesterday I was able to pick up an iP w/o having an Analyst Review. I wonder what changed? This was my 7th and all others have required an AR. Still not allowed to do sth but that's OK as the Apple store is less than 5 miles from my house and lots of good restaurants in that shopping center. I'm gonna get fat flipping iPhones, lol!!!!:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::D:D:D:D:D:D:D

It would seem that way. I know Motorola has never been known for having good cameras. I'm worried this is going to leak over to the Nexus as well. The LG has OIS and a laser focus system. It's probably the best camera I've used in a phone. I believe they're already pushing an update but no one has downloaded it yet.

Ikr - you would think they could hire camera engineers from some camera company to work on their cameras.

What forums are you reading on about the turbo? AC and XDA or any others?

I have just accepted that whatever the N6 is, that is what I will have to deal with. I am not giving up free WiFi tether for a better camera. Samsung is out b/c they can't figure out how to make a radio. That leaves Motorola, HTC and LG. The M8 is too old for me to buy and the LG will be too old for me to buy by the time I can get a N6. So N6 it is then!!!

Doesn't the N6 have OIS? I have been reading good things about the N6 camera.

If I were a buyer, I would insist that the seller make the changes to the line that I want given this market. Let the seller take the risk of getting an idiot rep who messes things up.

Otherwise the buyer will be stuck trying to explain to an AOL rep that they want a single line family share plan converted to a 450 min individual plan w/o changing the text or UDP. If you get a good rep, fine it will work. If not, who knows what you will end up getting once they are done and if your seller just acquired the line that day, there will be no record that the line ever had UDP if the UDP is lost that day.

My advice to buyers - there are enough of these lines out there that you can dictate that the seller convert the line to what you want BEFORE you agree to AOL it. Double check with the AOL rep that the line is what you want before you go through with the AOL making sure to tell the rep you don't want anything changed.

Good point. It's been one of my concerns with AOL is the "what ifs" with Vzn trying to change the plan to meet my needs. Which is why I tried the add a line via apple for a single plan with UDP the primary objective, low minutes and no or little txt.

I wouldn't consider it dictating, merely a providers effort to meet his/her customers request to make it a win/win for all. ;)

I've been reading over on XDA. There are also complaints of bad WIFI because of the kevlar. I believe the N6 does have OIS, but I'm not 100% of that. That youtube video was interesting from a few posts back. Is the iPhone really that yellow?

Ok, eBay experts. I know somewhere there is an option to force a buyer in a Buy-it-now sale to pay to complete the sale. I have sold three phones today, and none of them are paying or responding. I still have two non-payments from last week. This has gotten beyond annoying. I know it used to be an option, I googled it, but still can't figure it out.

Anyone?

So far no issues except for severe lack of iphone supply and very few takers for UDP lines now.

I hear ya, I also have an unlimited line with a 2 year contract that I would like to AOL, but it seems like a disconnect with helping those who are looking for the lines and those of us who just want to give it away. I guess I'll have to consider the ebay route even though I wanted to save the new owner additional expense.

Hey, I already admitted I am dense on this subject. :) And I already know the BB Method so maybe I am a little bit ahead of them. Maybe.

Is CORe open on weekends ? I will search on how to call them.

So I can't port a number via Apple, for the 51st time ! I can only get a new UDP via Apple. So when I order a new line with a new number and pick up in the Apple store, what happens? Is a new number assigned or does the Apple Store call Verizon to port before activation. Would Verizon not remove the UDP ? If a new number is assigned, you call Verizon to port later? Why would Verizon change the number since UDP has always been locked to a phone number and they have never been willing to change the number without losing UDP.

Since I won't be at the store, there is no winging it here so some clarity is appreciated.

Can I just walk into an Apple Store and buy a Verizon iP6 without contract?

Nope, I tried, they are only selling phone with contracts, at least for verizon at the moment. Also, don't waste time showing up to a store, call ahead as they are in limited supply of iphone 6's

You can't call them directly - you need a Verizon rep to do it for you. As I said, if you can't get a Verizon rep to call CORe to cancel the line, then have them move the line to a subaccount. End of problem.

So when I order a new line with a new number and pick up in the Apple store, what happens? Is a new number assigned
Yes that is what the scan activation does.

If a new number is assigned, you call Verizon to port later?
Yes.

UDP is not locked to a phone number - it is tied to a contract, i.e., your line of service. You always have been able to change a UDP's phone number online - you just don't get to pick the new number. What you can't get the Verizon reps to do is let you switch numbers b/t Verizon lines if one of them is a UDP line.

They definitely do sell Verizon iPhone 6/6 Plus without contract at the Apple store. I bought a 6 and a 6 Plus on launch day at my local Apple Store.

You must have had a rep that didn't want to sell for whatever other reason.
