Issues updating passes

I ran into an issue today that when I try to force an update to a pass in Passbook over a cellular connection (either 3G or LTE), it will not update; however, if I attempt to update a pass over WiFi, it will update without an issue. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue and might have a resolution. This applies to all my passes and I made sure the option for Passbook Updates to have access to Cellular Data was on.

Cineplex just made Passbook useful.

They've added their Scene points card to Passbook. Not only does it take one more card out of your wallet, it keeps track of your Scene points.

With Starbucks coming this weekend, it's starting to make sense.

Im having problem adding my scene card to passbook. I pressed the passbook button in the app and it started loading. After it finished loading, i then went to my passbook but nothing shows. Is there something i need to do?

Wait for cineplex to fix it; it's a known bug, everyone is experiencing it

Try again now. It wasn't working for me earlier today (I was super excited to try it out) and I bought a few tickets for tomorrow through the app and used Passbook for them. After doing this, I decided to give Scene a try and it worked. So either buying tickets activated the passbook functionality, or they fixed their servers.

Thanks for the update. Im able to add it into my passbook now without purchasing tickets. Its probably the server.

First use of AMEX on Passbook

Well it was notification that Amazon had charged my account for the Paperwhite Kindle I had ordered. So on time to ship tomorrow, delivered by Wednesday.

it's 10pm EST...i'm giving them 2 more hours, then i'm calling the cops... :D

Ah, but they are a Washington state business so maybe they'll release it before midnight PDT.

If not, I think we should create 50 or so redundant and ridiculous topics on here.
Occupy Cupertino and Seattle and fire Tim Cook and Scott Forstall

have u tried gyft?

Awesome. I just downloaded it and added my Target gift card to passbook. Now I'm going to delete the useless Target app (it should've had the ability to add gift cards, not just mobile coupons).

I did notice two gift cards from Brookstore and Sephora in the amount of $5 pop up upon signing in. Complimentary cards courtesy of gyft I assume?

OK, as promised, here's a visual review of my Passbook use yesterday.

What would happen if I were to buy multiple tickets for friends? Would I get a pass in passbook for each of them and the ticket holder would have to scan each has each person went through? It would really cool if you could send the passes to other people(if they had an iPhone) and then each person would have there own ticket.

I bought tickets for the myself and the wife, and there was just a single code, single scan :)

Makes sense: the code is a record of the transaction, so if the transaction was X quantity of Y product, that's how it's encoded.

Right now, the only way I see to separate the codes, would be to buy through discreet transactions.

Also, Passbook is simply a container, the purchase, code, etc., originated (in my example) in Fandango, which does have options to share/send to friend/etc.

Cool, Thanks!

It would be really cool though if you could just send a passbook ticket to someone. And they would get a notification that were sent a ticket and they could accept and it would be put into Passbook.

Yeah, that's a pretty great idea, then the receiver wouldn't need to worry about the originating app, only Passbook (which they'd have by default with iOS6).

Other things I'd like to see:

- iCloud sync so Passbook items are available across all devices
- Permissions for apps to use Passbook so they could automatically push content (vs. the download >> add workflow)
- Better integration, better services/API so purchases could originate in Passbook (but still be processed/branded by the provider)

That last item would be analogous to how the Magazine Rack works. I don't have a Wired app, the app is resident inside the rack container, and it uses all the hooks/interfaces, but has it's own UI. So for buying movie tickets for example: open Passbook, look over Passbook services (Coffee, Movies, etc.), choose one, pick the provider (if more than one), buy ... you stay in Passbook, use your AppleID as the transaction mechanism, etc.

I think there's a number of improvements we'll see in Passbook after this initial version, which gives us the basic functionality, and defined the format for content.
