how did you get the bestbuy reward zone card? did you download the bestbuy app?

PassSource.com. Had to manually add it.

But FYI, if you're looking for a good club card type of app then CardStar is 100x easier to use. it uses the phone Cam to read the barcode and input the numbers for you.

Passbook should notify you about expiring date, no?

not really because if you imagine having 30 coupon cards then it would get annoying to constantly get notifications for coupons you never used.

In my situation, the coupons that were expired were supposed to auto update to the current ones but even a manual update wouldnt work. I had to manually pull up the Target app to find the current coupons which defeated the purpose of the Target PassCard. (Also, the GPS didn't locate I was at target since its not listed on the new Apple Maps)

The only "official" Passbook I have is Target. Where can I get a list of the "official" Passbook apps/cards I can use?

Thanks.

So I don't know if you use airbnb app but I've just updated and it says you can put your bookings in the passbook app.
The thing is for me it didnt work at all: first it got stuck on "loading", then i closed and tried again and.... he added a booking of someone else in my passbook

And now I deleted this unknown booking, when I click on "Add to Passbook" on my booking, it says "loading" for 5 seconds then stops and nothing happens.
Anyone else?

The old coupon mailing service valpak just updated their app with passbook integration, looks useful but there werent many good coupons for my area.

I had an extended weekend trip and used the United app to add a boarding pass to Passbook. Worked fine. But the pass did not show up location-based when I arrived at the airports, but time-based starting 12am on the day of departure.

On another, slightly off topic note: Apple Maps turn-by-turn navigation worked just fine on Oahu, and to my surprise AT&T has excellent LTE coverage in the Honolulu area and even on the east and north shores of the island. :D

Ah.. I see.

Don't know if it was pointed out anywhere, but when you open passbook, the screen automatically defaults to the brightest setting, presumably so scanners can see the barcode.

So how many of you get looks from store clerks like you are a leper or something when you try to use Passbook? Last night was my 3rd time using passbook. At both Target and Walgreens I got the deer in the headlights look followed by the "you're an idiot" stare. :D

I wonder if its paranoia on your part because mobile coupons have existed at both of those stores for years.

I dont think Ive ever gone to either store (at least the ones by me) and have seen anyone ever use mobile coupons. Physical coupons or rewards cards, yes, but not from a mobile device.

Then again, where I live, most of the stores around here dont seem to get the latest and the greatest tech and/or training. Or if they do, the dont utilize it. All of the walgreens in my area have scanners with NFC capabilities, but none of them have been hooked up for example.

Ever since iOS 5, you can swipe notifications with the app's icon on the lock screen.

Yes, I am familiar with notifications and how to use them. This one just looked like a tiny popup in the middle of the notification screen.

Anyone try adding a costco card to passbook using passsource? Does it actually work at the store?

Passbook Gets Some Love...

Hi All,

I'm not new to the MacRumors forum but this is my first post. I've followed the forums for years to stay current on news & information, so thanks to each of you who contribute on a regular basis!

Anyway, many of you may have already read the article presented below, but for anyone who has not, it seems that Passbook is beginning to pick up a little traction w/regard to vendors coming onboard.

See below:

However, it seems that they are now faced w/some legal fallout as well...

See below:

Again, many thanks for all the information provided!

Let me to check to see if I'm right, when I go into passbook and click on the apps that will show ones that support it....wonder what the ETA is on UK based apps being released passbook compatible?

are you screwed if you leave your phone at a starbucks and a friend picks it up and takes it to the counter and can spend your card total if you don't need to unlock your phone to use passbook?

Yes, if you have friends that steal from you ... it's likely you're screwed.
