Yeah, and also how cable cutting is now as expensive as traditional cable, as if people need to subscribe to every single service all at the same time.

Besides, if anyone is trying to save money by cord cutting and they end up subscribing to so many services that their monthly bills are the same as cable, then they are really doing it wrong.

I browsed the catalog which I am glad they let you do before subscribing as I always pay for the ad free version I refuse to use ad supported versions. There is nothing worth watching unlike HBO Max which I do subscribe to as they also let you browse the catalog before subscribing.

For real, I wish Xfinity would put their Stream app on Apple TV. It's on Roku which has way more market share so it can't be about them wanting to get more box rental fees.
Now if Xfinity would just allow their "Xfinity Stream" app on our Apple TV boxes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I downloaded the app this morning, Peacock is not giving me an option to use my Xfinity tv subscription - only sign-in is for an email account. It's not like other apps that give you an option to use your cable provider.

Last night I finally broke down and bought Animal Crossing New Horizons for my Nintendo Switch - seemed like a more productive use of my time rather than this lame Peacock service.

You would still need a Main Box in order to use the Xfinity Stream...correct?
I find I need to Authorize my ROKU almost everyday in order to watch the Stream App (sometimes it take many codes to get it to work - albeit other apps will stream just fine). Not sure what is wrong but I am on ROKU #2 so thinking it isn't the ROKU that is at fault.

Also from the article: The third tier that is ad free...

It was literally the next sentence after the one you selectively choose to read/quote.
also from the article: “Peacock also offers an ad-free "premium plus" tier that costs $9.99 a month.”

My mistake; juggling too many windows. Original comment edited. Thanks for calling me out.

No - Xfinity Stream does not require a 'main (cable) box'; in fact, you are suppose to call Xfinity to authorize the Roku (in your case) and return the cable box - as I recall.

interesting everything I read on Xfinity and was told by the tech was I needed one main box and X1 or their modem.

I already returned my bedroom box. and for my ROKU stream app they just post a code i have to enter and sign in via mobile/computer device.

I could see myself subscribing for Premier League matches, but that's about it. I see Peacock like CBS All-Access, I'll subscribe for the shows I watch, then cancel.

Netflix, Hulu (with Live TV) and HBO Max are enough for my wife and I to keep month in, month out (I don't count Amazon Prime since we use it primarily for Prime shipping).

I'm curious what this means for the 10 other streaming apps that can pull from the NBCU library( i.e. USA network, syfy, nbc, bravo, etc...). Will they go away in favor of just the peacock app?

So, there was a time when it was supposed to be a money-saving feature to cut our link with the cable company. Now, with all the various online streaming services, if you want to have access to all the networks (and it will keep on growing and growing), at the moment, it's more expensive to subscribe to all the streaming services than to keep you cable subscription active. Where's the deal? Not anymore.

Go to peacocktv.com to register. You have to create an account that's separate from your xfinity account, then link the two. After you create the 'free tier' account, you can link xfinity to it by going to your account (https://www.peacocktv.com/account/plans). I was able to link my xfinity account there to get the Premium tier for free.

So, looks like they have some weirdness going on. I was charged for the base year of the preorder this AM. I logged in to the website, and it said to reenter my CC info again. What? You just used it... Okay, no biggie. I thought that was something to do with the ATV issue, but, nope. They also wanted my email reverified, which also makes no sense. Seems like first day pains to me...

I was told it would give access to late night shows several hours early every night, but I’ve never been able to find it. Has anyone had success finding this or has the feature been pulled?
I wonder if what (whoever said that) meant was that they’d arrive on the eastern schedule, which is, e.g. 3 hours earlier than the west coast - whether it looked earlier to you/them would depend on where you/they lived.
