Go to peacocktv.com to register. You have to create an account that's separate from your xfinity account, then link the two. After you create the 'free tier' account, you can link xfinity to it by going to your account (https://www.peacocktv.com/account/plans). I was able to link my xfinity account there to get the Premium tier for free.

Thanks! I got the $4.99 version free for linking the accounts. I appreciate it.

So, there was a time when it was supposed to be a money-saving feature to cut our link with the cable company. Now, with all the various online streaming services, if you want to have access to all the networks (and it will keep on growing and growing), at the moment, it's more expensive to subscribe to all the streaming services than to keep you cable subscription active. Where's the deal? Not anymore.
I've been a cord-cutter for 5 years. I have far more content that I want than before cutting the cord, and except for cable internet, I have no other subscriptions... well, I have Britbox but that is a consolation prize for my wife for putting up with our hd antenna/roku/chromecast/fire tv setup. :D

Reported the Apple TV signin issue to Peacock, let's see how long it takes to fix. You'd think they'd verify the app works when going live, sigh.... Looks to me like there's no database at all (or a firewall rule wasn't removed or something...).

Dont use the saved password feature. Just type in the password normally. Why it can't properly pull the password from iCloud is beyond me.

I had this issue as well where it would put in the password I saved to iCloud. However, it would say it was wrong. So I typed it in manually.

Got right in.

I'm diggin' the free tier... very PlutoTV-esque. But a big problem is that it refuses to show any videos on a computer with dual displays.

I wasn’t even going to bother but now am intrigued. Pluto TV is pretty great for free streaming. I don’t mind commercials (much).

I wasn't planning on it but I will use the free version.

Interesting how they asked for my email address to be kept up to date yet they haven't sent me even one email.

Received the email less than 20 minutes after I made this post. I signed up for the free tier. The app has no problem signing in with my iCloud password.

If it was ad-free at $4.99, I'd give it a shot, but I have enough streaming services that I'll pass on another.

I have Peacock Premium (with ads) included as a Comcast internet customer. So far, the ads have been very little. Definitely, digestible unlike Hulu and other services. I certainly would not pay for Peacock Premium if it was not included because there is little original content. Further, since the ad experience is relatively unobtrusive, I would see no reason to upgrade to the no ad version either.

Last I checked, NBC is still completely free and accessible by anyone with a TV and/or internet connection. This is free too....

For real, I wish Xfinity would put their Stream app on Apple TV. It's on Roku which has way more market share so it can't be about them wanting to get more box rental fees.

It's more about resources. I live in the Philly area (where Comcast is based) and I am an iOS Developer. Xfinity is always looking for iOS engineers. I know a few that went there, couldn't take the corporate atmosphere and eventually left. So, they are throwing the iOS Engineers at the "priority" projects and let the other projects with less importance fall to the wayside.

Yeah, and also how cable cutting is now as expensive as traditional cable, as if people need to subscribe to every single service all at the same time.

Besides, if anyone is trying to save money by cord cutting and they end up subscribing to so many services that their monthly bills are the same as cable, then they are really doing it wrong.
Not necessarily. A bunch of streaming services might give one more content that they care about. There’s also the huge benefit of being able to watch when you want instead of on someone else’s predetermined schedule. That right there would make any given amount of money be better spent on streaming than on a cable subscription.

Is it available for Android TV? I like to have all in one spot and by now my Apple TV has become kind of redundant since I don’t have the 4K Version

edit: is it down? The tiles which are supposed to show their content are just black on my iPad and their website doesn’t seem to work properly either

Yep

Wow. Thanks for the heads up. Worked perfectly. It can pull correctly from the iCloud Keychain on iOS but not the Apple TV. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I think you should re-read my post.

I created my password yesterday, and logged in today. There were two shows listed under "Continue Watching," neither of which I would ever consider watching. Very creepy.

For premier league soccer peacock is as flawed as nbc sports gold. If you miss the start of a match you can’t see it Until match over and replay available.

The deal is that for a lot of people they don’t need all these channels. With cable you pay for channels you’d never watch. Also there are no contracts with these services, so you could catch up on your shows for one channel in a month, cancel watch another channel for a month. That’s what we do, we switch every 2-3 months between HBO, Stars, and Hulu.

Too many streaming services? Well, this is, as most, "not available in your region". **** that.

Yep, ATV worked if I used 1Password to fill it in (as before) and then 'touched it' to add a space and then remove it. It's one of those insane setups where it won't take a directly filled field. Who tested this thing, anyway?

It doesn't seem to have everything we thought it had. Just for one example that my GF was looking forward to, Chicago PD only has S7. Amazon has most seasons for free, and a couple of the later ones are pay to view. WTF Peacock, what are we paying for, from NBC....

It might depend on whether you are using the free tier or one of the premium tiers.

Thoughts / initial impressions -

The 'Cock is finally here!

As I've come to expect from other NBC streaming apps, dear God the bad UI almost has to be on purpose.. Yikes!

My initial take is that the 'Cock UI is purposefully designed to confuse users, especially older users, into thinking what they want to watch will require upgrading to one of the paid 'Cock tiers.

For some shows/content that will be true, of course?

But have already fielded a couple of emails and phone calls from confused customers asking if things that should be obviously included in the Free 'Cock tier require upgrading?

I had one customer who couldn't find the one show on the 'Cock they actually want to watch? (Dale Jr's "Lost Speedways")

Oddly enough, (considering how much it's been promoted by NBC to this point) you do seem to have to hunt for that title in both the iPhone and AppleTV 'Cock apps, but when I linked Peacock app to the AppleTV app, and selected Peacock (in the AppleTV app), "Lost Speedways" is one of the first shows to appear?

Now, is this the AppleTV app, knowing me so well, to show me something motorsports related? Or, just an odd coincidence?

As far as content goes? Meh? I'll be watching "Lost Speedways" and the new "Psych" movie? "Brave New World" looks .. promising? Besides that, I don't see anything that will have me using it much? I certainly don't see anything worth paying for on the 'Cock?

YMMV, no warranty expressed or implied. If you notice unusual itching or swelling while using the 'Cock, stop immediately and call your doctor.

Anyone actually able to login on Peacock on ATV? Works on my iPhone but same creds refuses on ATV. Wondering if they are waiting to charge the preorder year deal. Very weird.

I had trouble with the log-in as well? It took three tries (and rebooting the AppleTV) but the login credentials I'd set up on the iPhone app did finally work?
