Taking the suggestion of another member who was pissed at the time he spent yesterday and called Apple to express that and then received a coupon for up to $100.00 off a purchase of $300.00 from an Apple Customer Specialist.

So being just as pissed at trying all day like everyone else, and then getting this July 2nd shipping date I called this morning and spoke to a supervisor and got the exact same discount coupon. The first supervisor I spoke to send me a coupon for half that but I called again and was persistant and got the larger one.

I then took my code, applied it to a new order for an iphone and received the $100.00 off my $300.00 upgrade thus paying only $200 for my upgrade.

This makes waiting a little easier, and who knows maybe I will get one at an Apple store untill this onme arrives and the return it.

Either way I encoutrage others to do the same it will work!

Ok I got the 100$ coupon. Talked to customer service and then to a supervisor. After about 2 hours of talking I got it. When the email sent it said not good on iPhone but I tried it and it worked. Here is a screeny!

And I think it is worth it that I get it in a couple weeks late.

@3Goldens, what did you dial? I've been calling 1-800-my-apple since yesterday morning and they flat out say they cannot take my call now and hang up automatically. How did you get through the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system?

Steve Jobs did try to have a press conference last night but the networks were all busy covering the President's speech about the millions of gallons of oil floating in the Gulf of Mexico.
 
I gave this a shot today. Was not able to get a $100 coupon but I got a bumper, and a dock for my new iphone. Overall not bad for 10 minutes of my time.
 
What number did you people call. When i tried i was told there was no form of compensation they could provide.

Ill try again later. Maybe I need to be meaner :p

He should have had his press conference. They could have just put Obama's teleprompter on the bottom of the screen.
 
There are so many worse problems in life that not getting a phone for another week really makes anyone complaining about it look pathetic. I understand people are going to be upset when their expectations are not met but if you cant move on without expecting some type of compensation for every time things don't go your way, its going to be a rough life. Most likely you still have your health, you're not currently in some far away desert getting shot at, or having your livelihood destroyed by billion dollar corporations. Did you have lunch today? Are you still breathing? Good, now shut up.
 
anyone who takes up this offer is just abusing their customer service. i swear, some of you apple people think the world owes you a favor. did you ever stop and think that maybe why it's taking them so long to process things is because they're busy dealing with complaints like yours. it's your own fault for not getting your order in right when it began.
 
Why the whining? We got 2 32G phones from ATT at 6:30 am with less than 10 minutes online.

Perhaps they should say something like 'Any orders between the 15th and 18th will be shipped on the 24th' to spread the load instead of beefing up servers for one day.

13 million inquiries and 630,000 units sold is a pretty good day!
 
Well I tried to order yesterday, no such luck until the july 2nd date. I called and voiced my opinion and I got the credit. I'm not going to deny it. You people should lighten up.

What number did you call? I mean I just called apple and they have no clud what I am talking about. If you don't mind me asking, what time did you call and what time zone are you in? Please tell me. At least you got your orders in July 2nd. I am pushed all the way back to July 16th.
 
I called and asked for customer relations. Then got escalated to a supervisor. I told them about the coupon and they acted like they didnt know anything then i told them I have a screenshot of it used and they said they have a 100 off 300 but it doesnt work on iphones. I took that and tried it and it worked on the iphone. I used 1800-676-2775.

Expecting something for nothing is exactly whats wrong with the world. Every one was in the same boat, every one had the same chance to either get/not get through. To expect apple to give you anything because YOU chose to spend you day clicking on a pre-order button is ridiculous.

I'm sure some of you will get pissy with what I just said but I don't give a hooties cow.
 
Anyone know if you can use this at an apple store? I'm not waiting another 20 days or w/e to get it just for the 100 bucks.
 
Wow, I am amazed how long people took trying. I got home from work, tried for :30 mins, did some washing and tried again and no problems for my wife and myself.
 
Either way... Apple and ATT blew it bad this year.. their servers should be up to par... hell APPLE is a COMPUTER company.. im sure they have the equipment to make it possible.

I'd say APPLE WAS a computer company, Now I'd say they are a mobile electronics company that makes computers. :)
