I just noticed Apple has removed the "Limited Time Special Price" for the current-generation refurbished iMac (Canadian and US store)... Could this possibly mean that the offer is over, leaving the lights on for the next iMacs? I don't know, myself, but I sure do hope so. Let's all keep the community informed as soon as someone has a clue about the babies we're waiting for.

"Limited Time Special Price" still shows up for me.

WTH? I just checked once again on both stores to make sure.. and I definitely don't see the "Limited Time Special Price" still shown, for example, on the UK Store.

EDIT: Sorry, my mistake.. it appears like my mom's computer didn't show the page clearly, since there were definitely no "LImited Time Special Price" there.. but on mine, it's all up there.. weird.

2- Blu-Ray (instead of having a superdrive, add a Superdrive that can read Blu-Ray)
3- include the apple remote, the latest macbook pro cut it out, will be interesting to see if apple is getting cheap and is cutting back on this lil device that probably costs less than 1 dollar to make and they charge $19 for retail.

- the drive is somewhat Blu-Ray compatible from what i have read (not writeable, but readable IIRC)...

- the apple remote is included? (at least it was w/my 20" 2.4GHz box purchased two weeks ago)...

AFAIK, the drive cannot read nor write Blu-ray Discs because of the laser's wavelenght. (Red for DVD vs. Blue for BD). Also, I think he just meant he wishes Apple doesn't cut out the apple remote like they did for the last update of their notebooks...

If this rumour is true then it would have to come out today!

If it does, one of the minis has my name on it :)

Cmon iMacs!!!!!!!!

I am switching my business from pc's to Mac's. Buying 18 Mac's. Laptops are prime for purchase. iMacs... waiting.... waiting... sheeeesh.

I did notice that all the little "new" buttons are gone over the macbooks and macbook pro's etc...

The:
Refurbished iMac 20-inch 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Limited Time Special Price

Still shows up for me even after emptying the cache...

the store is still up. guess we'll have to wait yet another week.

Too bad :( I was really hoping this rumour was true but it promised it within 4 weeks.

I could really use a mini with X3100, my current one with GMA950 is just too slow to run World of Warcraft smoothly. Ah well, at least I can keep my money in my pocket :) There's enough rumours around now about new ones coming out so I don't think it will be long.

Wow. I have been waiting for what seems forever. It's so tempting to put together a hackintosh. When you compare hardware of the mac to that of a PC manufacturer like Gateway or home-built, what a crappy deal the mini is. I just love the OS too much not to buy one, though.

But, give me a break. Freaking Intel 950 graphics??? What the crap are they going to get off their arses and update this thing?

All NEW stickers are cleared in the store

Previously all the recently updated item, such as Macbook, Macbook Pro, etc. were carrying a shiny blue (NEW) sticker next to their icon in the Apple store. These seem to be cleared now, so nothing (NEW) can be spotted at the moment in the store.

Hey, this has to mean something! A Wednesday launch maybe?!?!

is it just me or anyone else noticed that the iMacs are at the top of the list on the refurbished area? Or those items are always listed in alphabetical order? Honestly I'm starting NOT to want an iMac after all this waiting...

me neither, I need a new machine but this is just stupid to wait until they release them. They should sell upgradable hardware and everybody is happy. This just sucks, I feel like trying to buy a good TV in Afghanistan.

Sheesh, what is taking Apple so long? It doesnt affect me, but lets hope that this does not turn out to be another 11 month wait like it was the last time around.

Exactly! I feel like Apple "wants" to make us suffer.. I know I need to wait for the new ones, but I'm just hoping it will be within the month of April, which already seems too long for me.. Please, Apple!! Hurry UP!!!

How did you install the HD?
Watched a video from here:http://media.macsales.com/videos/mini/intel/medres.html
The presenter has the mic way to close to his mouth and he sounds like he might have a heart attack any moment, but the info is good. The video covers RAM and HDD upgrade. There are other sites that cover the disassembly better (clearer images), and I have already done RAM upgrades on other minis, so I was pretty comfortable taking the unit apart.

After years of upgrading IDE drives, it was nice to have the ease of sliding a SATA drive off and on the interface.

I also purchased a SATA dock that holds 2.5 and 3.5 inch drive. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to back up the install of the mini. I put the mini unit in target mode, put the new drive in the dock, then used my laptop as a go between to clone the drive.

When I popped the new drive in, it worked out of the gate... no issues.

I showed a colleague of mine how well it handles CS3. We brought a rastor based image into illustrator and vectorized the image with the trace process. He no sooner said this will take a while, when the completed image presented itself on the screen. He illustrates for a living using a macbook pro and a Powermac setup in his studio. He was genuinely surprised how quickly the mini handled the task.

They need to hurry up...

I've needed an Intel Mac since they came out, but being a college student, cash isn't easy to come by...
I've been waiting for the upgrade to the iMac because I've recently come into quite the pickle not having a Windows machine and seriously need one, and have been waiting this "4 weeks" with no changes :( besides the "New" stickers gone from the Apple Store.

This is 1 month into Q3 for Apple...SOOOOOOON!
