My Premier order status simply shows "Pending" with the option to cancel. How about everyone else?

Pretty much what I'm seeing. Do you also have a $1 charge on your bank account?

I'm usually pretty patient... except on iPhone launch days

Link00seven, Sorry to say that is extremely unlikely. All Premier phone 'requests' are not actual 'orders' and are being taken on paper and will be manually entered within 2 business days. You'll then get a phone call asking for your credit card and then it will become an 'order'. I'm not optimistic.

Yup, my card has a $1 authorization from AT&T. I always freak out on iPhone pre-order days, yet everything usually seems to work itself out by launch day. It's frustrating, but there's something about it that makes me want to go through it every year.

I JUST ordered through the premier website. You know, I thought I had an advantage of living in Alaska, when the preorders were "supposed" to start at 12:01am PST (11:01pm AKST).

I ordered it through one of my partners, and I also plan on doing the early morning stand in line on launch day at my small local AT&T store.

HOPEFULLY it will be just as good as the 4S launch was. Got there 45 minutes early, stood in line about a hour. Was able to even buy my wife a 4S at 6pm at night.

This is not entirely true.

I called Premier and got my card charged for the full amount (427.00) including tax as an authorization. I never saw a $1.00 auth from AT&T. I ordered by phone through Permier, and she said I was her 'first order.'

I did call around 4 AM PST though and was on hold from 2 AM. Spoke with an awesome CSR, but I detailed that above..

Notably though, I don't have an order number for the Premier system but my order shows up on the normal AT&T order status as pending with no shipment time information. Huh.

cmoski, I think we may be talking about two different call centers and two different systems. The AT&T BusinessDirect Premier (877-336-2633) people did not get in until 5AM Pacific time and anyone under a Wireless Business Advantage, Cingular Business Edge, or AT&T Mobile Business Agreement can only access ordering through that phone number or via https://www.wireless.att.com/business/index.jsp. These Premier contracts are not allowed to order via http://apple.com or the regular https://www.wireless.att.com.

The BusinessDirect Premier order lookup system is also apparently down until 5PM today (see where I hovered over the Transactions->Store Orders text).

It's an interesting screenshot, to be sure. My premier page looks entirely different, in interface and in layout. Although the URL for it is https://www.wireless.att.com/businesscare/index.jsp It even has a different color scheme, different images (stock images of a woman looking at a laptop) and a much older look to it without expandable columns for wireless numbers.

Mine lists each number in a table format, and allows filtering by wireless account status, with a breakout of individual and group plans. Even the Premier websites between BusinessDirect systems seem to be different, and I can find nothing on my Premier account which says the system is down (via hover over or otherwise)

We don't have an AT&T Mobile Business Agreement, or Cingular business edge. We are also prevented from ordering from AT&T main site and Apple (of course)

There are a lot of different systems floating around AT&T. The inefficiency of this company is astounding. What percentage of our monthly fees go to waste maintaining these desperate systems and not to network/infrastructure improvements?

Anyway.. A quick update.. I was given a Premier order number by my 3rd call (on hold for 45 minutes with the upgrade department) but it is not active/live yet. The CSR seemed sure based upon my order time and that my card was charged I'd be in the first batch based upon my 4:45 AM PST order.

[No pending order section, either. Although the downtime of that system may explain the lack of order updates.]

One question --

Does anyone remember if the premier order number is a chopped off version of the full AT&T web order number? I remember something about that last time..

Hm, well I called the number that was previously posted on this thread (800-331-0500) and the guy there seemed to process everything, the credit check, the # porting, and of course my credit card. (I'm a new customer, not upgrading a line). He said that I should be good for the initial shipment and although I can't see the order status yet on AT&T's website, my credit card was charged. I did get an email telling me to accept the AT&T terms and conditions, which I did. So I'm trying to be optimistic, but we'll see.

About my corporate discount, he did take down all my information for my FAN discount and put it as a note in the order. He said at most I'll have to call in to have that added manually. Since my FAN waives activation, that should go through as well as the discounted billing from the start. Hopefully I don't get burned on that, but I'll definitely fight it if they do.

I ordered through the phone around 930 PST. I have no pending charges, no email, nothing in Premier order status. I have an order number and when I call support, it says "Our records indicate you recently upgraded your phone". So, yeah.

EDIT: Im going to give it a few days to see if I get charged / order status shows. If not, I freak out.

I don't yet have the ability to see my order via premier... Credit card authed for the full amount..

I'm just not sure what is going on at this point, but we'll see.. Fingers crossed for getting in the first batch, although I'm starting to wonder if it was a mistake to order over the phone...

Edit: Called Premier and it says my order has been 'completed' with no further information. Upon transferring to a rep, they said the systems were down for updating and to call back in a few hours.

I was just going to call, damn. I would say give it a few days. Obviously AT&T is getting hammered and things are behind. It'll show up.

EDIT: Seems the rep lied to me. Received an email and it says 14-21 days for shipping.

I got a question Maybe one of you could answer.

As I placed a preorder this morning under one of my partners number (full upgrade). I also plan on doing the launch day thing (figured I will be able to get one next Friday with one of these options).

If Launch day goes good, and I am able to buy two at the store (one for myself and one for my business partner), do I need to cancel my preorder first?

I could have sworn that at 4s launch day people were coming into the AT&T store that had Pre-orders (with AT&T) and the employees couldn't do anything for them. As in if the account still has an active preorder, you are stuck with it if you didn't cancel before launch.

Glad I didn't see this thread first. I would have mistakenly thought it was a big deal.

I logged on the AT&T site at a break during a meeting today. The splash screen asked if I wanted to get the iPhone 5. It sent me the Premier site. I entered my phone and payment info and clicked Purchase.

A confirmation email came within 5 minutes...and it took less time than that to order.

Yeah I don't think that has much to do with this thread. Most concerns people have are when they will actually get the phone.

And what type of premier account do you have? Looks like three is "Premier Business Direct", which is when your businesses phones are the responsibility of the business (the phones user is not liable). And then "Premier" where the user owns their phone and account, and just gets an employee discount.

Regardless this whole thing is pretty messed up. I mean I pay a quite a bit more (ok a lot more) than the standard home user. It is a business account with multiple lines/data plans/office@hand etc.... I would seriously be looking at other companies, but I live in Alaska and AT&T is the only national game in town. Verizon is coming soon, so I will be looking into that.

Your business partner will not have a full upgrade available next week since it was consumed with the pre-order.

You will have to decide what you want to do but you can't use the same upgrade twice, once for a pre-order and then again next week at launch. If you do cancel, it will take time for the line's upgrade eligibility to be reset.

Great... I also ordered over the phone at roughly 8 ET by the time I got through. I used the phone option because the rep said I could get it shipped to a different address that way. I'm on a family plan so other members were having it shipped to original billing address - that's why I just couldn't change that. I didn't get the terms and condition email to accept until this evening. On top of that, it said it was shipping to the billing address, not the address the rep took. If it's in the second shipment and going to the wrong address, just going to cancel after bitching them out and try to get it at a store.

Oh that's fine, not in it to try to save money. Reason I preorderd under his line and not mine, was that since I am also going to try the launch day, I didn't want "my line" tied up in a possible Pre order issue.

My partner wants an iPhone 5 but he is fine with waiting. And since I am like most apple users and want it on launch day, I now have a few different options.

To those who ordered by phone..

Do you have anything else then pending shipment on your order results?

I preordered using the Premier website yesterday morning at exactly 6:48AM EST, and I haven't received anything but a confirmation email since. My order is still being processed, with no expected delivery date or anything. Also, it's been a full 24 hours and I can't find the order through AT&T's website; only through the link provided in the confirmation email. Is this the same for everyone else?

On a side note, it's a fat chance I receive it on the 21st, right? (the email says "as soon as Sept. 21" but of course that doesn't mean much)

No, but I don't think that will change for at least a week :(.

Same for me. I'm sure it'll take a few days for things to start showing up. My email says "14-21 days", so it isn't vague like yours. Weird.

Much depends on your companies rep and their relationship with their counterpart at AT&T.

Being a very large account, ours work together to forecast initial demand. This has resulted in the our orders being fulfilled on launch day even when the order system said 14-21 days.

Maybe that will happen this time too.

Definitely not holding my breath.
