dannelb, regardless of what they say online or on the phone, also make sure that you have it corrected at time of activation.
 
Well, I did place an order last night and it went through, but Apple didn't recognize the discounts...

I'm trying to add two lines and then convert to a family plan, so I guess I'll need to end up talking to ATT either way...just wondering if anyone else has experience with this or not.


I have not had any experience regarding the discount, but I'm sure att could easily credit your account if you qualify for those discounts.
For your sake and sanity I would suggest you wait a few days, their systems are clogged up with people trying to get the new iPhone.
 
I have a FAN discount and ordered from the "Premier" site when I got the 4. This time around I logged in at 3 AM and ordered through Apple's site with no problem (no errors about having a discount or business account). I tried ATT's site, but was getting a time-out error. Seems Apple's site worked just fine with the discount this time... odd.

Yeah, i did get error between 2am till 4:40am, then i went bad.
It is now allowing me to order with the new line. ETA is still 9/21, i dunno how accurute though.

i get to select the 9.99 voice plan.. but then it goes to selecting data plan and there is nothing there to select and won't let me move forward...any ideas?

just spent 2 hours on the phone for att to tell me there making a fix it ticket and itll take 24 hours.. what crap..
 
i have it as well. I have never ordered on the att website. I hate it actually. Apple is a lot smoother and better process.
 
Same issue...when i reach the "Data Plans for iPhone" page I do not see any plans listed to select.

It only shows "There are no plans available for your device at this time."
 
BF just went down to the ATT store we were at for 2 hrs last night...they were able to preorder us the 2 phones no problem. the lady next to him checked out liek 5 seconds later and the clerk said "opps i just got a notice that these are now 2-3 weeks out"....then the clerk said to the BF, i think yours are OK...so i dont know if we got in the first wave or not...
 
It was a NIGHTMARE! I tried and tried for hours and couldn't even pull up the login page! So I just gave up and had emailed my account manager to hook me up at one of our local stores, but then at 6:30 I gave it one more shot and have been in an out of Premier a bunch of times since. I don;t know how difficult it is for AT&T to get their crap together for these launch days! You'd think they've learned something after all these years...
 
I went through this mess and had an apple reservation only to have apple dump me saying there is a problem.

So this morning I made it through ATT premier and just ordered a new completely separate line. I'll have them sort it out after I'm holding it.

They say arrives as soon as the 21st but I doubt it. :mad:
 
I tried apple.com from 3am EST to 5am. I kept getting that they wanted me to put a deposit because I was a new AT&T customer (I'm not). Just as I was about to give up, AT&T started working, but wouldn't let me add a line. Gave me an error for about an hour. Then at about 6:30EST the add a line link took me to Premiere, which didn't work either, said my account was invalid. FINALLY it kicked through and it let me order 64GB White for "as early as" Sept 21st. This happened last year as well. It showed up 3-4 days later as "backordered". This sucks. :(
 
Out of curiosity, what is the discount you receive on an iPhone 5 with a Premiere account?
 
Did anybody order thru Premier and receive different wording than the text below?

"Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012."
 
For those who saw a checkout button, what browser were you using? I tried Safari, Chrome, IE and still can't checkout.
 
screw it...i just ordered as a brand new customer... still said delivery on 21st... i'll just merge it into my line... hopefully...
 
I have a premier account and I just logged in normally on the main AT&T site this morning (8 am EST-ish?) and was able to pre-order without a problem.

I received a confirmation email immediately. I just was able to view my order status on the web site:

Order Status
We'll ship your preordered items when they become available. All other items in your order will ship when they're available.


I would like a better timetable, but hopefully it will change to a more definitive date.
 
Did you use the same account and add a new line or did you just pay full price?

I have multiple lines and a few were available for full upgrade discount. I used one of those and will have them switch it to my line when I receive the phone.

I ordered the white 32 GB at $299 plus $36 upgrade fee.

I am hoping I can get the upgrade fee reversed, but if not, that's ok.

did it as a brand new customer...so i set up a new "account" but i will just merge that account into my current account i hope
