Thanks getting my point... As much as I would like to love and have a white iPhone, in real life condition the white looks " creamy white". Its a turn off for me.

Yeah I get what you're trying to say. But I would expect it to be like that. Every company would advertise their product in perfect conditions. It's just expected nowadays. They probably photoshop them also to improve the color quality.

How about the black doesn't look as good as the black online, when I see black iPhones in the wild they have fingerprints all over it with smear marks. It's all a matter of what you like but I think my iPhone looks pretty white.

My whole point is they should called it " platinum white " instead of " white " and advertise accordingly. The gal s3 is white... The iPhone is platinum white. I choose platinum white over creamy white appelation because you guys deny your iphone looks creamy white. I think platinum white is the right color appelation for white iphone and it sounds better than creamy white.

If apple would called the white iPhone 5 " platinum white " I would have probably buy. But calling it " white" turn me off cause I except to see and have a white iphone and its not ! False advertising.
I think you need to change to better lighting.

You have a vision problem, but I really think your main concern should be your sheer lack of logic. To sit and say that you simply won't buy a product because you're too dim to understand the concept of "white" is simply ridiculous.

It's white. Every person in this thread has told you it's white. It's white in press materials, it's white in person, and every person is telling you the same damn thing - theirs is just as white. Your entire argument is simply idiotic.

Looks pretty white to me. Of course it's not all white just like the black is not all black it's two toned which should be common knowledge.

Cpt. Oliver,
Its past your bedtime. Time to turn off the screens and go to sleep.

Just go to Apple website. Click iphone on top, click design. The third pic on the page is the white iphone 5. Compare your white iPhone 5 with the pic. Make your own conclusion and agree your phone is not the same white.

Maybe your monitor has a purple / blue haze
time to complain on the internetz

"My monitor has a blue haze! Haze-gate!"

You do realise that the images on Apple's website aren't actually photographs, but rendered images? They're not the real thing. Therefore the whites look whiter and the blacks look blacker (or at least different than in real life).

Each generation of iPhone I asked myself : " should I get a white or black Iphone " ? White looks gorgeous on Apple website and their marketing poster.

As soon as I see the white iPhone in person ; Apple store, friends, im disapointed and I choose black. Why ? The white color used to make iphone is creamy and yellow-ish, I dont like.

This time around I choose black iPhone 5 and it looks phenomenal ! The blacks look black !

Is their hope someday Apple will made a white iPhone that actually looks white and not " creamy white " ? Or called it " platinum white "

Must have been really bored this morning huh?

Sorry for the low quality. Idk if you can tell the difference but the iPhone does look a little creamy when it's wearing a white case. That's why I don't like to use this case anymore. But it looks white when bare or when wearing a case w/ a different color.

My black iPhone 5 looks exactly the same black as the image on Apple website...

Yeah, it looks " creamy " . Anpther that valid my point.

I think the white iphone gets a little yellow over time because it gets dirty. At my job, many people have white iphones and when they give it back to IT they have a yellow tinge to it. I imagine the display model iphones might look the same with people touching them all day with their dirty hands.

No its not dirt. For unknown reason, Apple use a " yellow tint " in their white that make the white looks " cream white ". The white iPhone in hand looks definitly different from their advertising pics, posters, adds etc... Same goes for white iPad

I agree with the op except my complaint is with the black and slate model. I want an onyx black with maybe a hint of jet black.

I agree. I had the same experience with the iPhone 4 and iPad. I get excited about how great the white looks in photos. Then I get to the store and its creamy looking, so I get black. I was hoping for a different result when Ii see the 5, but now I won't get my hopes up.

It's not the lighting. A long time ago I had a car, a Grand Am GT, that was called "Bright White". It was amazingly white, and never looked yellow in any light. I see many "white" cars today that look creamy or yellowish. The difference is the color and finish, not lighting.

If you like the white iPhones, great. You don't see a difference? Good for you. Ignorance is bliss. I wish I didn't see a difference, because then I'd have the beautiful white iPhone I've been wanting. Instead, I'll likely get yet another black.
