Thanks. Me & the GF are actually planning a little getaway vacation since now I'll be spending about 50% less on a better spec machine than I would be getting in the joke called a Mac Pro. I'll be sure and DM you some pics from the beach, with a LOT of microsoft emojis.

Upfront cost of windows pc is cheaper agreed, long run cost is a different story altogether.

I like his written work, but Gruber is not the greatest interviewer... shame because he gets really good guests.

So true. When he was getting them to talk about pro apps for iOS, I kept waiting for him to ask "What could or should Apple do in order to help the development of pro apps, for the good of the platform?" He consistently blows opportunities to ask Apple execs insightful questions as opposed to "Why did you do this or that awesome thing?"

Because he wants to keep getting these interviews. Though I do agree he should have pushed a bit more on software for iPad.

Yep. Love that guy. I about peed when he commented on how odd the photos were that marketing picked for his presentation.

This was the best part of the keynote. But I think the whole Eddy the jokester bit (last year it was karaoke this year jib jab) has worn out its welcome and isn't funny anymore.

Federighi really embodies the spirit of Apple in my opinion. Federighi's presentation on OS X/macOS and iOS at WWDC was great, polished and intelligent and the demos smart, witty and slick.
His presentation was probably written by/with Schiller. Because Federighi is more clumsy when doing these interviews, but this interviewer is bad also so it makes it worse.

Great interview. I really love Craig he's so nice and funny.

we don't complain about everything in this forum but when you have the following:

mac pro hasn't been updated since 2013 - 3 years ago

mac mini went from 4 cores in 2012 to 2 cores and soldered ram - 4 years ago

apple display last update 2011 - 5 years ago

I feel bad for people buying these products today and not knowing when and if a new update will come

and in both cases they will be screwed with an outdated and overpriced product on their hands

Was this the one where Schiller mentioned the bit about they spend a year working on a new file system and no one cares, and they do two new emoji and everyone flips out?

That was really a sweet moment for me. The one when I stopped feeling guilty about my next computer purchase being a Windows machine.

You're leaving Apple because of how others react to what gets updated?

I would have asked:

1 - Why no hardware this year?

2 - Why does Tim Cook speak like he's trying to steal children?

3 - Now that Apple allows you to hide apps that are on the home screen, why don't they let you set default apps?

4 - Why is Jony Ive incognito at the biggest developer event of the year? And is he still responsible for the software design?

Just a few I would have asked.

Hi, You cannot uninstall Apple Craps, all you did is basically hide user data and app data. Apple craps are still here, ie, stupid Apple Maps.

iOS is piece of crap and Apple is control freak. LOL... Let me uninstall Apple's crap and replace those ****** apps with better apps, like Google Maps, Google Calendar, Google Gmail, Google Keep etc... Google services are way better than Apple's crap

When did he insult PC Users?

The March event, where he said something alone the line that there are 600 million PC users are using PC that are over 5 years old. He think that is sad.

Tell you what, my 5 years old PC with AMD Athlon x3 still do more than iPad Pro does. I can still multitasking without issue. When he think PC users using old PC are sad, what about iPad users?

Schiller is idiot, he is good sales guy, but poor ethical.

"There are over 600 million PCs in use today that are over five years old. This is really sad, it really is.”

That's insulting old computers, or at least insulting 5 year old computers. People are so quick to be insulted these days that they don't think things through.

It is equivalent saying, using PC that is over five years old is sad. It is insult to PC users. 5 year old computer still better than iPad Pro and Apple is charging 800 bucks for iPad Pro. It is not only rip off, but also insult to your cash.

Sheesh, what will be will be.

Everyone stop hating on each other and take it for what it is. This kind of interview at all with two Apple execs doesn't happen often.

I liked their candour - and come on, as if they were going to spill any tidbits on stuff that hasn't been officially announced… yet.

I thought it was quite good. And what is OS X. Don't you mean macOS ;P

'It's only insulting PC Users if you want to be insulted. Normal people don't define themselves by their computers.

When did he insult PC Users?
Schiller unnecessarily insulted PC Windows users at the first keynote for this year in March. Apple executives in the audience laughed in agreement when Schiller said - "There are over 600 million PCs in use today that are over five years old. This is really sad, it really is."
There are many reasons why someone might use an older machine, with one of those reasons being poor and unable to afford a new machine. Schiller's statement was rather callous and not funny.

You take things much too literally and trigger far too easily.

Great interview, very spontaneous, authentic and fun. I doubt the armchair quarterbacks could have done materially better.

Callous? Insulting PC users? He made a comment about how using old-ish hardware is sad. He didn't insult anyone. He didn't say you were sad for using a 5 year old computer. Big difference, words matter.
