He’s lying because he declared a “winner” in a competition between two phones? o_O

He didn’t rig the results. He didn’t handicap either phone. He explained his method pretty clearly. The video demonstrates something that is objectively true...the Note 8 does a better job of keeping apps open in the background than the 8+ on iOS 11. He even states this and says that he’ll have a “rematch” when a new version of iOS 11 comes out.

He didn’t claim in the video that the Note 8 is definitively faster than the 8+. He simply had the phones do the same set of tasks the exact same way and the Note 8 did them faster, then he declared a winner in this particular settting. That’s it. If you choose to read more into it than that, then that is on you. And given the fact that he makes money doing YouTube videos (as you stated), it would appear that you and you alone have a problem with him “declaring a winner” when he does this.
You think to much onto this, have you actually used both phones? And by using I mean for an extended period of time?

So many people are missing a huge point here. Android runs like a virtual desktop, like an emulator. IOS runs everything natively. So therefore iOS has always had an edge. Even making an Android that can keep up with iOS is a huge feat. Imagine all the bloatware, all the resources needed to run apps, etc on an Android. You can't knock the Note 8 because it's an incredible feat to be able to have the hardware necessary to carry Android this gracefully.

Edit: Imagine the Note 8 on a ROM that completely removed bloat and any UI customizations. Especially making it vanilla Android. This device would run at laptop speed.

Uhh what?! Android runs everything natively as well! And whats nice it isn't locked down like iOS is. I can customize everything I can think of. I hardly have any bloatware on my Note 8 like Androids years ago. And all you have to do if you have some is disable them.

What does that have to do with anything we’re talking about?

You have beef with the fact that he declared a phone the champion of his very specific contest.

Does it also bother you that people said that Usain Bolt was the fastest man in the world because of his 100m time? Because I guarantee you that there are guys in the NFL that would have beat him in a 40 yard dash. Were the IAAF lying to us about Bolt?

And no, I’ve never used a Note 8. But again, that’s irrelevant because the video provides visual proof of what I’ve been stating all along. Heck, I didn’t even need to see the video to know that my 7+ on iOS 11.0 did a worse job holding apps in the background than it did on 10.3.3. And nothing has changed on my 8+, so it’s clearly iOS 11.

I have. And the Note 8 is faster other than gaming. I don't game on my phone and don't need an iPhone for that period. I also have a powerful PC to do any video editing on it. So the Note 8 does everything else fast and smoothly unlike the iPhone 7 or 8.

I know nothing of bolts or whatever it is you're talking about

Let me summarize it then.

If someone claims that you’re faster than me because you beat me in a foot race, they’re not lying/inaccurate/untruthful when I then beat you in a race of a shorter or longer distance. The claim is valid for that first race. It’s not all-encompassing and it shouldn’t be taken that way.

Does that make sense? And do you see how this is analogous to what we’re discussing?

Want more proof?

Oh yea, that's proof alright, because I totally walk around with both phones and open the same app at the same time on them everytime I respond to a snapchat or open any app for that matter

Seems you didn't watch it. It opens everything faster.

Then why do they ask permissions when updating or downloading? I'm guessing I might just be mistaking how Android runs the programs as you can run Android apps on other non-Android devices. The way you use Linux and the open source nature of it allows pretty much any app to run on the device as long as it has hardware compatibility.

In real world day to day use, both phones are fast and responsive (for the most part). When I use my iPhone or note, I'm not like, "oh, this app opened faster". It's imperceivable. You notice the iPhone perform better with games, video and photography especially. Also, galaxy phones are inconsistent with performance, you claim the note opens things faster, yet for example, when I compared both side by side, something as simple as opening the dialer on the iphone was faster., for example

Oh, I see your point on some apps do ask permission to download. Only some do not all. Unsure why that is, but either way it doesn't run on top of another software. Apple asks too when you go to the app store you have to tell it to update the apps. I can actually set the play store to always update on it's own too.

Games and Videos only. Photography NO. Note 8 wins everywhere including photography. You can't do all the settings on the iPhone you can on the Note 8 like an SLR camera. My dialer opens faster than the slow iPhone animation.

Lol no phone "wins".

Seems to you unless the iPhone wins no phone wins.

But the Note 8 did in all the videos.
Your video sucks btw. But once again, there is no real "winner". You only notice a difference, if any, when having them side by side. Which no one does. And even then it doesn't matter. The better overall performer is the iPhone. Obviously your experience with both is minimal at best

personally I think this is the wake up call apple clearly needs. Long did it seem like no matter what all iphones will always be quicker and have better performance than androids devices. I think the 6GB of ram is the min of what is required for samsung devices going forward.

Oh, wow, because you don't agree, now the video sucks. LOL.

What happens if you turn off the animation on the iPhone? Does it equalize the speed between the two devices?

Its either iOS 11 is unoptimised or the iPhone is using its low power cores more often. If its the former, seems its the classic hare and tortoise story where the hare (Apple) slept when it was confident of winning while the tortoise(Android) crossed to the finish line

Looks like Samsung has taken the crown on this particular unscientific test.

What an ad embedded mess of a video.
