Indeed but these photos show they have lots of bezel they could remove even while keeping the home button, just looks like lazy. Another reason is prob Ive's OCD bezel must be equalon top and bottom.

There might be room around the button, but what about the electronics inside the phone to support the button's touch ID functionality? Can't take everything at face value, design could very well by driven by the amount of space inside the phone.

It's very clear now, Apple wants to get rid of it's innovators lead role.

these supposed 'leaks', months ahead show two things.

They have become crowd pleasers, they will serve what the market asks. The market wants stupidly large iphones, they will get it from Tim.

Secret projects don't exist anymore. these supposed 'leaks' are again prove of it.

what Apple is going to learn the hard way in tech world: a premium price can only be asked because of innovators value. (it's not a car, people don't buy it because it's shiny, people buy it because of the innovators value, because it has something no other phone has)

So we have to realize we go from an innovators company to a posh, high end company. I'm very confident this won't work in TECH world.

Exactly. Looking at the plant in the background. This is way too small of an operation for the volume that Apple works at. My take is these are pre-knock off parts in a plant making unlicensed "iPhone 6" devices. The most extreme is this is a very well fabricated hoax leading the public in the wrong direction.

Or, it could just be a receiving dock. They have those at warehouses and production facilities.

Why would anyone do that? Of course the first assumption will be that Apple is lazy and just taking the easy way out instead of "innovating".

No way is Apple making an iPhone this big. I had reading these stories.

you know whats funny? the posts like yours after every single iphone parts leak. every. single. one.

----------

Can't get excited anymore. :(

if new phones provide the excitement in your life thats a personal problem.

----------

how the hell are developers going to support this many layouts?
auto layout constraints are a headache to implement.

how do you know it isnt the same ratio as one of the existing sizes? wait until theres a spec before worrying about how well developers can do our jobs.

if apple did not join the current times with a 4.7" phone they would just look stubborn in their own way to please the fanbois and not the "market"

I’m sorry….If you can’t fit a 4.7” iPhone into your skinny jeans, there should be plenty of room in your man purse/satchel/messenger bag. ;)
That is where my 9.7" iPad (with unlimited LTE) goes, which is why I don't want a bigger phone! If I need a big screen, I turn to the iPad.

When listening to my podcasts, glancing at texts or playing Threes I turn the the phone, and a bigger screen is of no benefit for any of those activities...

Well, I never really wanted a bigger phone, but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Apple will do it... but it will make sense because it will come in the same time of the iWatch thing.

And then, they could say that we can do all the major "phone" features with the iWatch (Siri, accept call, notifications, etc...) with the big iPhone that stays in our pocket. And then when we do use the big iPhone, we can use it with both hands.

I don't know how it would work, but that could be one of the argument they would use.

My 2 ¢

This makes perfect sense. If they were to include iWatch in the box, it would justify an $100 price increase. Then people would be using at least two Apple devices, which locks them into the ecosystem. It makes sense.

WAAAAAAAAAAY too much bezel. Moto X is barely any bigger than my iphone 5 and has a 4.7 screen. That is not a competitive size in my opinion. Of course that doesn't change the fact everyone and their entire family tree would probably line up for one.

I hate all of you who want a bigger iPhone. Apple is just giving the customer what it wants and it seems everyone wants a bigger phone these days and I hate you all. I like being able to put mine in my pocket. You all can suck it! Suck it hard!

Way too much negative energy for a phone.

Hopefully you meant your response to be a little tongue-in-cheek.

Podcasts, texts, and games....sounds like something you can do on your 9.7" iPad (with unlimited LTE). Get yourself a feature phone and use your iPad for everything else.

Problem Solved. Money Saved. Complaints Eradicated.

If this leak is true, which it seems like, it's a very lazy job at making a big iPhone.

yes, so lazy -- im sure they just phoned it in and its going to be a flimsy piece of junk. right? i mean, because thats apple's reputation -- junky, lazy phones.

The screen isn't even edge-to-edge like the rumors were saying.

oh nos! but, but -- you were promised edge-to-edge! by, uh, rumors..

It's just the basic iPhone look, grown A LOT bigger.

yeah, which is exactly what half of the whiners on this site want.

----------

probably not beasue the S5 has touch id in a skinny home button

...and it doesnt work very well. oh yeah.

I agree and in china this is common. ....but made in china.

Then by that logic, neither is a new iPhone.
In fact, I'd be so bold as to wager an iPhone 4 would suit all your needs quite nicely.

D.

the purpose of a company is to build create products that offer value to consumers in return for money. some users are different than you and may find value in things you do not. crazy, huh?

Secret projects don't exist anymore. these supposed 'leaks' are again prove of it.

so which is it -- are these leaks or controlled leaks? cant be both. im betting on leaks...you cant be the most massive gadget company in the world and ship millions and millions of phones on launch weekend and not build them ahead of time, which means asian leaks.

agreed -- and that thing is value. apple hardware & software offer me value that others cannot. it aint the size. its the build quality, the ecosystem. the value. and apple has learned this long before you critics -- thats why theyre so massively successful.

I dont know if this is real or fake but... a few months back a friend of mine came back from a business trip in china, he had a 4.8" screen sized iPhone which looked identical from the front to the current iphone but bigger.... just like that front plate in the picture..... Except it wasnt an iPhone it was a chinese knockoff running android. So that could explain the large amount of plates in the picture...... and this leak could be fake.... then again it could be the real thing, who knows.

you probably only need a flip phone if you use your iPad with unlimited LTE for everything

Yeah I think it's fake too. Probably a company that sells replacement touch screens decided to make one for attention.

If attention was desired, wouldn't we know the name of the company? Hard to get attention without it.
