I dont know if this is real or fake but... a few months back a friend of mine came back from a business trip in china, he had a 4.8" screen sized iPhone which looked identical from the front to the current iphone but bigger.... just like that front plate in the picture..... Except it wasnt an iPhone it was a chinese knockoff running android. So that could explain the large amount of plates in the picture...... and this leak could be fake.... then again it could be the real thing, who knows.

Hoping it's a fake.

I have a Note 3 and it fits in my pocket with room to spare. That has a 5.7" display. I could even wedge a Nexus 7 if need be.

The problem is that iPhone with 4.7" screen may have bigger size than Note 3 because of the "iconic" home button and stupid design of the upper side of the phone.

MARK. MY. ****IN. WORD.

Um, no. You can mark your ****in' word all you want, there are plenty of us who will not be buying a larger iPhone. I vote with my wallet and I like smaller phones. It's the one and ONLY reason I bought an iPhone - because they put top of the line components in to a 4" device. If that changes, and they go with a 4.7" and discontinue the 4", my next phone won't be made by Apple. It really is that simple.

Why can't the iPhone 6 be just like the Moto X in terms of size? I own a Moto X, and the device is perfect. The screen is easy for one-handed use, the round back makes it very comfortable to hold, and the device feels solidly-built. Android is not my cup of tea, so I want an iPhone that is as genius as the Moto X.

Before anyone says something about the home button, this is Apple, they're supposed to be the biggest tech company on the planet, so they could've figured something out. They could change the shape of the home button and make it smaller, they could integrate Touch ID with the screen, they could do so many things to keep the iPhone around the same size while fitting it with a bigger display.

If this leak is true, which it seems like, it's a very lazy job at making a big iPhone. The screen isn't even edge-to-edge like the rumors were saying. It's just the basic iPhone look, grown A LOT bigger.

This leaked iPhone seems to be about the same size of a 5" Galaxy S4, if not slightly bigger, yet with a smaller display.

The Moto X benefits from the lack of home button, which the iPhone obviously can't shed. Also, you're really going to start judging the design of the phone based on the front glass? Remove the front glass from the Moto X, Galaxy S5, Oppo 7, Nexus 5, LG G2, and more and you'll see they're all remarkably the same. The only difference is the iPhone has a larger home button that gives haptic feedback and can quickly read your fingerprints.

I am sure a lot of people would upgrade to now have a 5x6 icon grid with no other notable changes :-/

It's amazing how many negative comments already and the phone isn't even out yet! It's human nature I reckon, your iPhone will never satisfy your hungry needs, it will be either "too big" or "too small", "oh that basel is too thick" or "oh the same boring design" or "it's just an enlarged 5S" and so on.

People wanted bigger screen? They got it! according to the leaks anyway. Nope, it doesn't end there, yet... there's still something else we need to complain about, don't we? ;)

Apple listen up, people want an entirely redesigned iPhone but in doing so make sure you address everyone's needs first, make it perfect, okay? Screen size, basel thickness, highest camera specs possible and reduce the price, can't be that hard?! Just be prepared to have your stock crash on hear about lack of innovation.

You done yet? I seem to remember when Apple moved from the 3GS to the beautifully redesigned 4, most customers were blown away with the new design (though craked back panels was an issue, the 4 is arguably the nicest iPhone design to date.)

So as a paying Apple customer, I don't feel it's unreasonable to be expecting something nicely refreshed for the 6. This front panel, whether fake or real, is just boring. After 7 years, I think people are finally ready for a front panel overhaul/redesign. We'll see if Apple is.

MARK. MY. ****IN. WORD.

It reminds me of the iPhone 4 leaks; people lined up to say it was "the ugliest phone ever." Well, four years later and it's treated with some of the highest regards.

Just looks like an oversized iPhone. While that's fine and all, I kind of wished they had taken the opportunity to at least re-fresh the front design a little and perhaps shrink those ugly bezels.

My fear is that to Apple at least, they feel that their bezels and home button have bcome so "iconic", that they define the iPhone apart from the competition. Really hope that is not the case as the front panel has become very stale IMO :(
Get rid of those Bezels. Every Mock-up shows a bezeless screen and yet Apple keeps those Bezels as if it's attractive. We're probably years away from a bezeled screen unfortunately. Or could it be the sapphire glass is for the back and that Apple is moving the home button and Touch ID to the back???
----------

Not so much the left and right side bezels, but the big ugly ones top and bottom.
Get rid of those horrible bezels which nobody likes Every mock up shows a bezeled screen yet ere probably years away from seeing it unfortunately

Which of these ones is the more recent Galaxy S? :) (Tip: the screen increased only from 4.99'' to 5.1'')

i'm really hoping this is not real. it looks ugly. the bezels are still taking up too much screen space. especially the top and bottom ones.

I transformed the first image and took an iPhone 5s as overlay. Seems that the bezels on the side and top/bottom are the same width of the 5/5s.

The 5s is already too big for some people. Some of my old cell phones were even smaller than an iPhone 4, and thus much easier to pocket without any bulges, or palm without any parts sticking out.

If the 5s is too big for some people, then they need to go back to using flip phones. I'm sure they can find a Motorola razor in good condition on ebay.

exactly if a 4.7" phone does not fit in your pocket than those pockets are not meant to put anything in they are just there for cosmetic reasons

In the above pic the new phone is 2.34 if I remember right? If so and this does not fit in your pocket you are wearing pants smaller than my 8 year old niece, HER pockets are larger than that.

That makes sense ... the upper/lower bezels aren’t defined by the overall device size, it’s basically the required room on the lower section for the button and a matching upper section for symmetry (plus some room is needed for the camera, etc.).

it is actually very easy to tell which is the new one. the galaxy s4 has more rounded corners whereas the s5 is more blunt at the corners. the s5 looks more like the gs2 did.

It would be ridiculous to cater to the tiny hand minority and ignore the majority. Wait for sales numbers on the larger phones (if they come). Don't forget that apple could care less for you as an individual, they are about making money.

I hope this is real. 4.7" is a nice size upgrade, it's nothing crazy big and is a nice progression. Why people think they need a 6" screen for a phone is crazy to me.
