if its this big, and even thinner than 5s... oh my god is that thing going to bend all the time :D

This makes me very sad: it is way too big. No way do I want to try to stuff that in my pocket or hold it in one hand or make a phone call with it.

I so hope that Apple, while catering to the hopefully temporary "give me a giant phone" insanity out there offers us an alternative top of the line model the size of a 4S or 5S.

I totally agree. Way too big. Ridiculous.

'This many'? As of this fall, if rumors are correct, we'll have:

- iPhone 5C/5S resolution (1136 x 640)
- iPhone 6 4.7" (resolution still unknown, hopefully as rumoured 1920 x 1080) [also rumoured: 1600 x 900]
- iPhone 6 5.5" (resolution still unknown, hopefully as rumoured 2560 x 1440) [also rumoured: 1920 x 1080]

So, three resolutions - that's very much do-able. All three have the same 16:9 aspect ratio.
When the iPhone 4S was introduced, developers also had to take care of three resolutions - with two different aspect ratios!

(960 x 640 + 1136 x 640 + 4.7" + 5.5") * 2 orientations

And you guys will still buy it

You guys hated the iPhone 4 - wah it has seams

You hated the iPhone 5 - wah it's too tall

You hate this iPhone 6 but guess what?!?!

you will bUY it!!!!!!

The jokes on you buddy!!!!

Did your Magic Right Ball give you that info?

Something seems not right there. The Moto X is a 4.7 inch display it barely seems larger than the existing 5s. I am wondering if they are not showing the 5.5 inch screen display

Why do you and so many others here think that Apple will not update it's 4" phone along with the introduction of larger sized iPhones. Do you really think Apple would ignore its existing customer base? You can question arguing points of others but you are missing the point yourself.

I never said they won't and I hope they do, to keep everyone happy, because then people couldn't possibly want anymore out of an iPhone, but to ask Apple to do the opposite of what the customer wants it stupid

All of the complaints here prove 1 thing. You can't please everyone. People are freaking out over an alleged front panel that isn't even confirmed yet by Apple. However, let's face it folks people want a larger iPhone. The popularity of Samsung devices prove this. I personally can't wait for the 5.5" iPhone model. The larger display will over increased screen real estate which means more functionality.

"Tiny" 4" iPhones are more popular than Samsung devices ....

The screen on that thing is 4.5", give or take. Quite possibly the rumored 4.7", but definitely not 5.5"

Which is partly why I don't, and never have, believed the 5.5" rumour. I just don't think that's coming, not this year, not next and if the trend for large phones changes, not ever.

For some reason those photos show much more clearly than the mockups just how much .7" adds to the overall size of the phone.

Just a quick reminder to all Apple nay-sayers, as to what they (think) Apple are "up against":

Mmmm... subtle. I'm awaiting the Persian muscle men in gold velour flares :p

I was really hoping Apple would go this route: eliminate the home button, make a very tiny bezel, and as a result the size increase is minimal.

Instead, it just looks like they're making a larger 5S. Disappointing.

Nice mock-ups. Would definitely prefer it if they did that. The 5s already feels too long and narrow, would be even worse if these rumours are to be believed. Why can't they make a virtual home button along the bezel or even move the home button to the side next to the on/off or volume controls. That would make it easier to use with one hand.

Except that Apple just introduced Touch ID into the HOME BUTTON last year. And they haven't even brought it to the iPad yet. Did you really think they would drop that after one year? Where is Touch ID on this mockup?

This.
Apple won't drop TouchId in the iPhone 6

Exactly, except it is not a G3, but a LG isai FL for Japan. Not perfect, but at least they are trying something new.

By the way, if that iphone 6 pic is the 4.7", what must the 5.5" look like? Something doesn't make sense here. Apple was so big on one handed operation.

You're right I think it's fake.

(960 x 640 + 1136 x 640 + 4.7" + 5.5") * 2 orientations

960 x 640 will be gone. iPhone 4S is the budget phone right now, but will probably be replaced with the 5C (is my guess) as the new budget phone.

- 1136 x 640 (5C)
- iPhone 6 4.7"
- iPhone 6 5.5"

This is not going to be a problem for developers. It are just a few devices to keep in mind - not tens of thousands of devices with different configurations each.

I don't either. Symmetry is what makes Apple's designs better than designs of Android devices. Apple likes everything to be thought out and well-defined.
Jony Ive always talks about how the best design is with absolute shapes and not arbitrary shapes and curves. Perfect squares, circles, meaningful ellipses, parallel lines, and so on.

iPhone 4 needs to talk to you about it's not-so-symmetrical seams. And both the iPhone 5 and 5S need to talk to you... it's about the camera's position (which has more spacing to the left than to the top. And it also has more spacing to top than to the bottom.

I can see them keeping the 4" and a new 4.7" form factors. I don't see them releasing an even bigger 5.5" model.

A note 3 in my jeans' pocket is just something ridiculous ....

What size pants do you wear? Are you're pants loose fitting or tight? Do you have room for the boys to breathe or are the boys breathing on you? Critical questions if you plan on getting the iPhone 6.
Maybe Apple can make "iJeans" for those lacking true pockets.

Move the home button to the side of the device? Where does Touch ID go? I love the fact that all I have to do is short press the home button and my phone unlocks. If Apple can figure out a way to make that virtual and thus eliminate more bezel, great. But anyone who thought it would happen just one year after they implemented it into the physical home button is smoking something. This is why I hate mockups. It's easy to mock up something cool looking when you don't have to engineer a working prototype.
