I think iOS 8 UI will change in a way that Apple can continue promoting one-handed operation. So instead of another row of icons, I think they will make the icons bigger, perhaps even dynamic icons (with notifications?). Steve is no longer with us and most of the world wants bigger iPhones. Tim Cook and his team has to do things that they think is right (that's what Steve advised to Tim) and this is what Apple should do to keep the iPhone stay relevant in the market. The 4,7 inch iPhone probably won't change much in size (for those who want a smaller form factor) and the 5,5 inch iPhone for the phablet market. Apple will give you a choice.

I do think this is real, anyone else notice the other front screens in the bottom right it were you all too busy drooling over the main picture :p

This makes me very sad: it is way too big. No way do I want to try to stuff that in my pocket or hold it in one hand or make a phone call with it.

I so hope that Apple, while catering to the hopefully temporary "give me a giant phone" insanity out there offers us an alternative top of the line model the size of a 4S or 5S.
These comments got old months ago. A 4.7" phone is NOT that much larger than the current 4" model and WILL fit into jean pockets with no issues whatsoever...

am I the only one who really hates this? It's way too big than I anticipated and it still has the massive bezels. The earlier leeks with iPad Air like design were way more nicer and neat compared to this as this is pretty much the same design as iPhone 5S but it stretched even more. Is that where we are heading now? 4/4S -> stretched to 5/5S -> stretched to 6/6S?
I hope these are not legit as otherwise I will be very disappointed and might get 5S instead. And I have iPhone 4 and was so excited for 6 but these are just huge :(

I feel the same way. If they truly only offer these larger phones this year, I will just keep my 5S until support stops. I hope they keep the current 4" and the new phones are exactly that...more options.

Looks legit. Glad to see some bezel. That makes it a little easier for the case makers.

Can one infer anything about the use of sapphire from this image?

not if these leaks are true. You can clearly see the front plate is much larger than the 5s

138x64x(6.5-7.1) for 4.7" iPhone 6
137.4x68.2x9.3 for 4.7" HTC One
142x72.5x8.1 for 5.1" Galaxy S5
136.6x69.8x7.9 for 5" Galaxy S4
146.4x70.6x9.4 for 5" HTC One M8
137.9x69.2x8.6 for 4.95" Nexus 5
138.5x70.9x8.9 for 5.2" LG G2
146.8x73,3x8.2 for 5.2" Xperia Z2

In my opinion, Apple are in the game for a 4.7" devices...but could do better if they put a 4.8" or 5" with the same dimension...

My only complain is about the 138mm longer...maybe the reason is the touch ID button they can move or make smaller ????

What did you actually expect?

This is super conservative Apple we are talking about.

The drama queens are out in droves today :D

This exaggeration and fuss reminds me of all the showboating about iOS 7, last summer...

Get a grip folks, you're wasting your energy, and you all sound so utterly precious and self-centered, it's really off-putting.

Looks plain. Just Doesn't have good aesthetics that you would expect from Apple.
Most of the new "other" phones look more pleasing. :/

How can you possibly tell? It's only the front digitiser; 80% of the aesthetics are, therefore, not present.

Wow...

If that is real , it suggests there is to be no redesign, and it's simply an enlarged iPhone 5/s. Which would be disappointing if true.

That doesn't matter. The new phone isn't the size of an iPad Mini. It WILL fit in jean and shirt pockets with no issue at all. Hell, just ask anyone with a Samsung/LG/HTC phone. Shh, don't tell anyone but one handed use will still be possible too. People are blowing the size bump waaaaaaay out of proportion.

I'll just be happy once the phone is released so we can all see you "It's too big!!!" people go, "Oh. This size is great!"

I'm a little surprised people were expecting a phone with no bezel or home button. Incorporating Touch ID into the home button last year should have given people a clue that it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. I suppose they could have shrunk the bezel to just barely cover the button but that would really make the button look out of place (like on the Galaxy devices).

How can you tell when you haven't seen the back of the phone?
