Sadly people that prefer smaller phones are now part of the minority. Do you really think that everyone who bought a 5s bought it because of the small size? I believe a huge number of people bought it just to stay in the ecosystem and their waiting for a larger display.

The only way to satisfy everyone is to release multiple sizes. There is no one size fits all.

That is my hope...they keep multiple sizes. The moto x is a very small 4.7" phone, so that or smaller works. Granted a lot of the reason the moto x feels so good in hand is the form. I doubt apple will have a curved back.

Well, I never really wanted a bigger phone, but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Apple will do it... but it will make sense because it will come in the same time of the iWatch thing.

And then, they could say that we can do all the major "phone" features with the iWatch (Siri, accept call, notifications, etc...) with the big iPhone that stays in our pocket. And then when we do use the big iPhone, we can use it with both hands.

I don't know how it would work, but that could be one of the argument they would use.

My 2 ¢
I think they could take this approach.

Personally I think there will be 4.7" and 5.5" iPhones within the next year.

The rumor came from someone who doesn't have a great track record as far as Apple predictions go. It's also possible that IF Apple is also working on a 5.5" device the $100 price increase is for that product.
If there will be both 4.7" and 5.5" devices, then I'd be surprised if the larger one did not have a $50-$100 premium over the smaller one for equal capacities.

Oh God no.

If they come out with this, they better keep the smaller form factor. There's no way my hands are big enough for this thing.

I personally believe that this is a knock off. I think Apple would remove the bezel completely and attempt to keep the same form factor as close as possible.

Can't wait for the 5,5 inch personally :) the battery life should get a nice boost on these bigger models too.

Don't get your hopes up Ive will design it as thin as possible to impress his Burberry friends and it'll have the same battery life as every other iphone.

note...$299 on contract when it was released.

True but I wouldn't believe that the note and iphone 6 would be a better comparison compared to the iphone 6 and galaxy s5 or m8. If they would release the 5.5 inch screen as well then I could see the price being $300 because the 5.5 iphone would be in the same category as the note.

If this picture is real, there doesn't seem to be much change made in the design other than the size. What happened to the benzel free or rounded edges? Is it just going to look like an ipad extra small? Is that it???

i really hope that this is just an option and not a minimum.
I understand that a lot of people want bigger phones and that is fine by me but to me I don't. I hate the look of it. My sister has Samsung S3 ( I think ) and although the screen is nice for movies etc. I hate the size. My iPhone 4 is the item I used the most every day so now that I'm ready to upgrade I want the same portability. I was ok with 5/5S as the screen size made sense and there was no real sacrifice but this is a monster! I hope Apple will do 4" 4.7" & 5.5" cause I really don't wanna lose that choice.
If there is something to go bigger then its 17" rMBP. That I understand :)
Same goes for Cinema Displays - bring back 30" screens and UPDATE them!

be serious thats a women hand holding it the picture, not Paul Bunyan

Man that's huge. I really like the svelte form factor of the current phone. maybe they'll have three sizes? Oh well, when The wife's 4 bites it I guess I'll be getting one of these. Actually I'll probably just pick up a 64GB 5S if they don't keep a 4" around.

This is true.

Could someone measure the screen.

With Photoshop's perspective warp and using the iPhone 5s as reference I get the new screen as being somewhere between 4.7 and 4.8 Inches diagonally.

So it's probably 4.7 as the two screens aren't exactly parallel with each other.

iPhon.fr did it

I hate all of you who want a bigger iPhone. Apple is just giving the customer what it wants and it seems everyone wants a bigger phone these days and I hate you all. I like being able to put mine in my pocket. You all can suck it! Suck it hard!

My Note 2 fits just fine in all of my pockets and it's larger than the rumored "smaller" iPhone 6. What kind of pants do you wear? Super duper slim?

Sort of what I'm wondering about all these people griping about size. I have the HTC One (M8) with a 5" screen and I can't even feel it in my pants pocket. Then again, I'm not a hipster and I don't wear skinny jeans. I also have no issues typing on the screen in either landscape or portrait.

If this leak is true, which it seems like, it's a very lazy job at making a big iPhone. The screen isn't even edge-to-edge like the rumors were saying. It's just the basic iPhone look, grown A LOT bigger.

I couldn't disagree more. To me, both the Moto X and the S4 look constrained and kinda claustrophobic. The bezel needs to be large enough to frame the screen nicely. It looks better on the Moto X, possibly because it's black... And your point about the fingerprint sensor is just wrong; the circular design allows them to ignore the angle, making it easier for anyone to use (left/right hand, different sizes, portrait/landscape, etc.). Your point about this just being a blown-up iPhone 5 is also wrong. If the bezel were anywhere near the same proportion as the iPhone 5 it would be appear HUGE at this size. It is much smaller, just not so small as to make the screen look like it's been glued on, and that it barely fits the design. In those pictures, the iPhone looks much, much better, imho. The device is a complete thing, not just a screen. And I think Apple's design is more appealing in that regard.

Phantom Arms and Legs

Has no one noticed the purple shirt with an arm coming out of it and pants with no body?

Am I looking at this picture wrong, or are people so focused in on the white bezel they see nothing else?

exactly if a 4.7" phone does not fit in your pocket than those pockets are not meant to put anything in they are just there for cosmetic reasons

I wear dress pants to work and my S3 4.7" fits loosley in the pocket

heh, that's pretty funny! Of course, it's probably for the sake of anonymity...

Wtf? This can't be real! You ask why?

Assuming this is the 4.7 inch one why is it THIS BIG? Many people in these forums have done the calculations including myself, and a 4.5 inch 720p display fits inside the current 5s while retaining the home button and the symmetric bezel all around with some good engineering Apple is capable of doing. So why go much bigger and piss people off for a lousy .2 inches while they could have gone 4.5" and kept everyone happy?

And for those that want a much larger phone 5.5" offering should be perfect, while the 4.5" version keeps the same dimensions.

Man, I was hoping for a new design...just looks like a enlarged iPhone 5/5S. If this is indeed the 4.7", I can't imagine how ridiculous the 5.5" will look.
