iPhone 5 Cheap.

Didn't take long for that start up. But yes, C is for color, C is for Cheap, C is for Chinese and ...

C is for Cookie!

Just a matter of time 'til someone does a video of the Cookie Monster singing and eating the iPhone 5C.

I come from the future. The iphone 5C (color) will sell for $299. It will have much lower specs than the 5s that will sell for the usual $649. It will be sold unlocked similar to how Google sells the nexus.

That's what I said?

A plastic iPhone 4S with Lightning connector and 4-inch display, as well as a plastic back to increase profit margins.

We're on the same side and we've got the same ideas. Stop fighting.

No one is fighting.

When you say plastic 4S... This comes to mind.
3G
3.5 inch screen
30-pin connector

Now If we say iPhone 5 plastic then it's
Plastic design
4" screen
Lte
Lighting

You say 4S.. I say 5

I am excited if they will have two models one of which will be a cheaper off contract.

I say this because an iphone ecosystem is what drives the experience, not necessarily all the specs. They may indeed keep the 5 specs on the low cost and just have a cheaper body, which is great for my younger sisters and mom and dad.

Whereas for me being the technology nut I would be excited about the high end with finger print sensor.

I think the C can stand for chromatic, like iPod chromatic from a few years ago, due to the alleged new colors for the low cost iPhone.

nom.. nom... nom...

also C is for commodity...

Speaking of commodity...

Why is the box so big though?
Wasn't the whole point of the EU directive on Phone charging cables to stop all those transformer plugs going to landfill. It doesn't make any sense to keep including them with phones any more. They could keep the price and have a special iTunes card in the box that can be swapped for the plug in store or used as a gift card if you don't need the plug.

Seems a little odd that Apple would have a bunch of plastic cases just lying around in a bin, especially when no new phones will ship until probably late September/early October.

Not only that, but they wouldn't be stored like that after manufacturing as they'd get scratched up and/or lose their lustre. Anyone who'd every been near a manufacturing line for consumer products understands this. It's the biggest clue that the pic is a fake.

Not to mention, A6 vs. A5 ... that's the big question in my mind (I'd say a 4" display and Lightening are a given). Does Apple want to continue with any A5 devices (mostly recently the iPod Touch and iPad Mini), or move to the minimum SoC being the A6. My guess is the latter for several reasons.

Is this not a rumor site? My comment wasn't based on fantasy. On this same site, there has been mention of Apple using carbon fiber in the past. As for evidence, I guess you didn't read any of the provided links I put in my post. Please read everything before replying. You make yourself look bad if you don't read everything through and click all the provided links.

Anyways, here's how I came to my conclusion... without links for those people that won't click them anyways... Apple eliminates cheap plastic as a shell casing material from their product lineup, then Apple hires a carbon fiber expert, Apple buys a large sampling of carbon fiber, Apple is known to be experimenting with carbon fiber, Apple puts patents on carbon fiber... It's also referred to as carbon composite sometimes, or a polymer, depending on how it's made. What I posted was a guess, a logical conclusion based on actual facts. Sure, carbon fiber is expensive but price comes down in large quantities. How much? I don't know, but 10 million anythings built with carbon fiber is sure to drive price down considerably. Some forms of carbon fiber can also be recycled, which is important to Apple. It all just kinda made sense to me. Now, do you have anything that says this will NOT be carbon fiber? If you do, it's just a rumor anyways, right?

What about actual leaks showing plastic phones?
You have actually nothing but a letter.

I think the plastic iPhone won't have LTE. I also think it will have the A5, not A6, chip and in my mind, that's the biggest deciding factor.

The EU directive only falls under jurisdiction of EU countries. The EU accounts for not even a quarter of all iPhone sales. The current configuration of the wall power cube with a USB power outlet and USB to Lighting cable is a smart move. Non-EU, ship the cube and the cable. EU, just ship the cable.

C may be for color, but that won't stop everyone calling it "iPhone 5 Cheap". That could cheapen the Apple brand, and should have been stopped by somebody in the marketing dept. if they had any good sense.

I imagine it will simply be the internals of the iPhone 5 in a less expensive enclosure.

16GB storage, A6, LTE, 8-megapixel camera, 4" retina display.

OMFG don't you people ever get tired of bringing up his name? He's dead, move the freak on!!

To this day Ford Motor, HP, Disney Company, Eastman Kodak and even Westinghouse Electric has their offices adorned with quotes of respective founders (Henry Ford, Bill Hewitt / David Packard, Walt Disney, George Eastman and George Westinghouse) and follow policies originated by their founders.

Steve Jobs is quickly moving into the fold of legendary American entrepreneurs that helped define their industry. Get used to it. Steve Jobs legend will live long after most of us on this site are dead, buried and barely mentioned at family gatherings.
