I really like the separation of colors in this composition. The yellow/orange on the left combing with the the purple/blue on the right is very nice.

Saying goodbye to the 60D on Saturday by going for a final stroll with it handheld through the city. The 50mm f/1.8 was the only suitable lens I had for it, so my legs were my telephoto for the day. I didn't quite get back far enough with this one to allow enough room on the left to straighten it up in post. Will be nice to revisit with the new setup when it arrives for comparison.

I was really struck by that, too. The approaching storm set off well with the sunset. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get much color under the clouds, but I'm still happy with what I did get.

How far were you from the flower and bee? Did you just set up on that flower and wait for a customer?

My lens was about 6-8" away. I was sitting on a brick wall and behind me were all these flowers. So, I just followed around the bumble bees and one got pretty close to me. They're so docile which is nice :)

I'm curious about this as well. Come on John spill it...what are you up to now? :)

Back to the Osprey nest this past weekend. The young are still in the nest and not clearly visible but I did catch the mate bringing home brunch.

The one photo disappointment I have while I was at Disney over Christmas was I didn't get a good fireworks picture at the Magic Kingdom. I need to find a good spot for next time I'm there.

One hope I had while I was in the area was a good sunset over the Mackinac Bridge. I had 2 nights to try it. I hit the jackpot on the first night.

Do you mind if I use this as my wallpaper?

After much research for my needs as a shooter of stationary things (primarily). I've decided to go with the Canon 6D for my architecture and landscape needs. The exceptional low light performance was the clincher for me.

For the birding, I'm looking at a second hand Nikon D300 and associated lenses.

The 6D and a 24-105mm is on its way to me and should (fingers crossed) be in my ruddy mitts by weeks end!

Missed this one first time round. Great shot!

Had to play with my new 5D Mark III/Sigma 35 f/1.4 combo last week.

I feel like this is the next lens that I want to add to my lineup. Maybe I'll hold off for a bit. It feels like every month I am buying more and more photography equipment!

Well here is my shot today.

I wonder where I go from here...!
