This morning I ran in the Miles-4-Smiles 5k to benefit children with cancer. I came in 2nd in the men's 40-49 age group with a 24:50 time. That happens to be a personal best for that distance for me, too.
I wanted to get a shot like this at the start, but since I couldn't carry my 60D and run, I wasn't able to do it. I took this one during the the awards ceremony after the race.
Here's one I snapped while crossing the street on Broadway in NYC last weekend... happened to be in the right place at the right time!

Nice photo. Love the deep tones. Great framing, as usual.
Going through a bunch of unprocessed shots taken during the period of my recent MacRumors hiatus (just really busy). This one will look familiar to some of the regulars who saw its predecessor in February. The response I got from that one encouraged me to try some different moods with a similar composition. Before returning to the site, I complained to the campus maintenance department that the light at the apex of the tower had burned out. I returned less than a week after filing that complaint and was thrilled to see the topmost lantern burning brightly as it should do.

Beta testing TheReef's brilliant new imaging quoting script for Safari. It works!!
OK, I know they say beggars can't be choosers, but I generally use Firefox, Reef! [insert puppy dog eyes here]![]()
The quote was done testing a Safari extension developed by TheReef, so I thought I would keep everything "Down Under".

I've barely taken a pic in six months, and I've definitely lost the 'fluency'. I'm even having to think about what to do... and that's always a bad sign.![]()
Yeah, tell me about it. Six months ago my cameras were like extensions of my own self, but now I pick one up and feel like a teenager with his first girlfriend.
Wow! this is stunning. Was it the lengthy exposure that made the clouds appear that way?
Speaking generally, I really think you need a rest sometimes. I know when it's a major interest though, it leaves a hole and can leave you feeling at a loose end. I like to have a few things so that when I need a break from one there's something else that I enjoy doing. And welcome back Phrasikleia!
I saw this tree in the middle of a field one foggy morning on my way to work
