I took this one while I was procrastinating one evening, putting off my MA research. I was trying to play with longer exposure times and getting the evening colours just right. I kind of like the clear sky reflected in the building, against the darker clouds.

Lovely shot. I always find sunrises inspiring, and this is a nice one. Appreciate the sharpness of the trees. I can't get its EXIF data, wonder if you would mind posting it? Also curious just how early in the morning you rose!

I really love fall. The colors in Atlanta are so bright right now.

I had a really hard time picking just one from the set I made today at Stone Mountain. Here's the rest of the set on Flickr.

Thx Greg, since FaceBook went 800pix wide I've been using that for my pict hosting site and sharing with family/friends instead of picasa.web, and FB strips EXIF data....

Simply I set aperture at f 7.1, used ISO100, and via aperture priority the shutter speed was 1/60 for that shot. 0 wind morning, so trees appear very crisp/detailed even in the other shots that were 1/5 th sec.
Via tripod took 60-ish shots over a 20 minute period, hardest part is throwing away some.
(6:57am - 7:17am EST)

Minor PP done in Apple Aperture 3.1, slight edge sharpening and little definition control, I consider that basically "straight from Camera" since I shot always RAW vs jpg which applies those in camera.

Here is a simple Pano of 2 shots, since exposed for the sky the trees/foreground are underexposed, I feel that is ok:

You my excellent friends can help me with something that has been perplexing me for a while. I know that Facebook has been rolling out the changes to the photo viewer with the new lightbox. I don't have it yet on my personal profile, or my studio page. I am really looking forward to reuploading all my pics in hires on there. Anyone still have the old style photo viewer too? My wife has the new and I get jealous. :( ahaha This is OT and I apologize :)

I wouldn't recommend using Facebook shots for this thread, or if you just generally want to show anyone your photos. When you upload to Facebook, it compresses the images, and decreases the quality, to save space, which for snapshots is absolutely acceptable, but for proper photographs you can definitely tell the difference.

That wasn't my question. I don't link my Facebook photos on here of course. I link my Deviant art medium resolution copies.

I wasn't answering you :) In fact I hadn't even read your post when I wrote mine. Sorry for the confusion.

As for my photo/submission, I'm not sure if this is acceptable since I've (clearly) edited with it a bit, but I'll post it for now anyway.

Thats a great shot and I kinda like that editing. Takes me back to my 8bit days.
What should we call that? "Square-Stacked Bokeh?"

I liked the visual pun. I was thinking of cropping it and keep only the "PARKING" at the wall, but decided to keep the rest because it provides context. If you've ever been to Downtown LA, you count all the park acreage in one hand.

My photo of the day:
Anyone who has ever had the (dis)pleasure of travelling the prairies/great plains of rural North America is familiar with tourist traps and the "worlds largest <insert item here>" monuments to attract attention of people driving by. Some places have worlds largest ball of yarn, cookie jar, can of Coke or just something that defines the community.

One local community has a statue of a cartoony banana holding a blue jay. Why? Because they consider themselves the "Banana belt" of the province, as in the town that most often gets the "hot spot" of the province on some days (but only like .5C warmer than anywhere else, if even that).
