Autumn Colors

Some photos, that caught my attention over the past few days:

Beautiful, although the composition is a bit too central. I love the cloud rays coming out of the tree and the colors are amazing.

Here we go, that's it :) I do prefer the color scheme of the previous one though ...

Awesome! I love everything about this. It is true though, that us westerners comprehend in left-to-right ...

Very nice photo, the tilted horizon doesn't bother me at all in this one, it makes the diagonal of the boat stand out more.

I know this is the most photographed attraction in the UK, but it sure is a spiritual place...

I don't know, it's a great capture of a sunset at this beautiful location, but the small size of the monument next to the vast sky makes me miss something up there. The sky is too big and empty, maybe stars or a plane or the moon, some more clouds higher up, anything would add that last missing 5% ;)

I like this one better than the previous shot from this area. Something about the detail in the surrounding land appeals to me. Great use of beautiful light.
Thank you :)

Another one from my Autumn colors series:

Thanks for the comments about the guy walking across the mudflats. I'd taken my pix before I realised that every footprint was 'lit up', as I was shooting into the light. This is a close-up of the mud of Morecambe Bay. It claims a few lives every year (most notoriously a gang of Chinese cockle-pickers), because it's unpredictable. Certain places you can walk; other places are quicksand that will gobble you up...

Dude - most of your body is missing....

Or does that frame allow you to peer into Alternate Realities?
:p

I think he just improperly framed the shot. ;)

I didn't feel like spending much time on a picture today. I settled for the interesting look of a brussels sprout stalk.

Free Moonshine Tasting

Visited Gatlinburg, Tennessee last weekend. Its right in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, so this is rather fitting.

And in case you're wondering, yes, there really were free moonshine tastings :D
