Yep!

As an ex-Apple everything boy... the cross over to android is painless, in fact refreshing.

Even the Galaxy S2 is better than this!

saw a friend of mine running jelly bean on his nexus s the other day. the UI is GORGEOUS beautiful!

i'll wait to see what the next iPhone brings to the table and if it doesnt satisfy me i'm gonna try something new

its getting a bit old after owning the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. the freakin UI hasnt changed a thing since 2007

I would reserve judgement until this thing is actually released, and better photographs (both promo and in person) are assembled.

The exact same thing happened with the iPhone 4, and the naysayers were eventually proven wrong. Regardless, I actually think the phone looks very smart and professional from the images so far, and that can't be a bad thing. Apple's current design does not favour any particular market or age group, whereas phones like the Nokia Lumia are just aimed at people who try too hard to look 'trendy' (ultimately, doing the exact opposite).

Theirs also something quite organic and solid about the current design; not the plastic nature of other phones. It feels quality.

Get a One X in your hand and tell me it feels cheap. It's beautiful and feels perfect to hold. The phone overall has a lot of issues but the hardware design is second to none in my opinion.

Call me a conservative old fart, but there are 3 thinks I really don't like about it.

1) different screen ratio
2) small dock connector
3) headphone jack on the bottom

But the overall design is very nice.

Regardless, THIS was the most beautiful iPhone concept ever. I really wish it got in production...

Now THAT'S nice!

A bunch of you girly whiners are truly pathetic. Until you use some Chinese kirf smartphones then you will realize how truly amazing the iPhone design really is. 99.9% of the smartphones out now are pure garbage in design and material construction. Sure they have massive screen sizes but if I wanted an ipad screen I buy an ipad.

You whiners take it for granted. You don't how difficult it is to design a phone like this and one that actually works without issues. If you don't like the design then buy something else. But to say its not innovative you're full of it. Design something else better than this and you can critic all you want. Until then you're just like a typical movie critic.

 Oh please. Yea sure it's hard to design a phone, but we're talking Apple with Johnny Ive and his team. Apple has done some amazing designs in the past. Saying it's "hard to design a phone" sounds like you're making excuses for Apple. Don't tell us it's gotta be hard for Apple to design a phone when they have a history of designing great industrial designs.

This design of the iPhone is getting stale now. Time for a redesign. Something like the above even.

Oh you guys are funny with your hate and skepticism of this leaked design. It will 100% look like the pics.

Remember this thread from 2010? Look what people said about the iPhone 4 leak...
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/899393/

I hope not. That looks hideous!

Simple answer: no.

Buttons are entirely un-Apple, there are seams...

If this is it then I'm getting a 3GS instead. This thing is hideous.

looks like an ugly sony ericsson phone. The design is VERY un apple like, down to the seams and the buttons

going to go on a limb and say. no.

Seams are pretty hideous. Apple made a big point of removing any seams that it could between the 2G and the 3G. This is a major step backwards if it has seams.

Apple will miss the second opportunity they can defeat Android and Samsung. Compared to Apples' two years plus update cycle, google and samsung has a half year update cycle with Samsung flagship in mid of year and Google phone at the end of year. Next year what excuse Time Cook will have for slow down of iPhone sales, they only have themselves to blame.

This is EXACTLY how I feel...about the screen and about Jobs. For those of you that think he was just a great marketing guy, read that book. He was essentially the ultimate in quality control and the reason why Apple's products were always more polished than everyone else's. He wouldn't accept anything less. Deadlines didn't matter. People's feelings didn't matter. He was a dick but we benefited because of it. He was completely uncompromising and that is what led to the greatness that we've come to expect from Apple. I'm very worried that a lot of things that are good but not great will be slipping through the cracks now and Apple won't be the same.

I'm just glad I'm not only crazy one with these thoughts and concerns.

That doesn't make sense, the markings of it's storage have already been there. And how can there be no serial number? Impossible. It'd at least have been faintly visible.

the package of the iphone shows the serial number and u can also look it up within the iPhone settings but its not on the back of the iphone

i think only <iPhone 4 had the space written on the back

I think it's a gorgeous design and can't wait to upgrade my iP4. What I don't get is all of the people who are really good at saying they hate it and how it shows no innovation, but fail to say why or offer examples of what "innovation" they would like to see. Like every other phone out there, it's a rectangle made out of glass, metal and plastic, with a few buttons here and there. Are you expecting propellers or wood or something based on a circle or parallelogram? Maybe a cone made out of a glow in the dark gel? Do you consider the Galaxy III a radical departure in modern phone design?

You don't like it - fair enough, nothing will ever be loved by everyone, but if you have to spew hate, at least have the maturity and depth to explain why and/or offer thoughts on what they *should* have done.

Wouldn't a change in the width cause massive problems with the previous two resolutions for apps? I am definitely not a fan of changing the aspect ratio.

So we stay with the current format FOREVER?
At some stage they need to bite the bullet.
They may as well do it now before the competition starts pulling away into the lead.

Ok, I guess I'm in the minority but that looks so dated to me.
Like a 3GS prototype.
It's an obvious melding of iPhone and iPad but it's the 3G iPhone and the 1st generation iPad.
I personally like the way that the iPhone and iPad have evolved so seeing this blend of the two outdated designs just looks outdated.

If this one is real, then it`s bummer. ... Some say iP4/4S it`s nice design... IT IS, but we have year 2012 already !

following your ideas guys it would be in 2020 like... new glass, same ip4 design, but well, ip4 design is great so what do you want.. right? right?

It`s called inovation, ... bring new things, like design and materials...
You dont have still FORD T on road, but hey it was a great design BACK then..

And don`t even get me started on how iP4 is ergonomically incorrect, slippery and with edges..

Whatever you buy today will be out of style tomorrow. You'll look back and wonder how you ever thought it looked good.

Since I know this is true, it means that you don't have good taste now. So why would I trust you to tell me what looks good?

I'll just have to judge for myself.

Apples so well known for Secrecy, nothing would suprize me. He's not been seen, quoted or talked about lately. Wonder if he's still at Apple.
Jony is in London. He's giving the keynote at some British Business event tomorrow. From the looks of it they're going to have live coverage but I wouldn't be surprised if Apple doesn't allow his speech to be covered live.

http://www.ukti.gov.uk/export/sectors/globalsportsprojects/britishbusinessembassy/item/314000.html

The day starts with a VIP breakfast reception featuring keynote speeches from Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP, Jonathan Ive from Apple, Burberry’s Christopher Bailey and Lord Rogers.

This will be followed by three themed sessions – Creativity and Global Branding, Creativity and Digital Technology and Creativity and Design-led Innovation – which will focus on the contribution of creativity to business success.

The event will highlight the importance of behavioural economics; how advertising can influence mass behaviour for the greater good; the role of architecture in urban regeneration; how the designed environment influences how we live and behave; and how design and innovation can help businesses keep ahead of the game while still being good corporate citizens.

Each session will feature contributions from a senior representatives of major companies from both the UK and overseas. The high-profile line-up includes speakers from globally successful businesses such as M&C Saatchi, HSBC, Diageo, Benoy, Mother, Embraer, Airtel and Telefónica, to name just a few, who will lead illuminating discussions and debates, provide important insights into the latest trends and provide powerful case studies illustrating strategies for success.

The Summit will also include a bespoke programme of one-to-one business meetings and a gala reception, offering invaluable networking opportunities.
In attendance at the event will be representatives of the UK’s leading creative companies, as well as delegates from overseas businesses and organisations interested in buying creative services from the UK. These delegates will represent a wide range of global markets, including the BRIC countries and other emerging economies.

I don't own any Samsung phones but come on...what are they really copying at this point? They're way ahead of the game at this point. The GS3 looks nothing like the iPhone. The screen is 1.3 inches bigger, the back is curved, the home button is completely different, they have about half the bezel of the iPhone if not less. They have many features that Apple hasn't even touched upon. I wish it wasn't the case but it is. Stop being ignorant. Apple needs to catch up in a major way.

I don't disagree with advances that Samsung has made. However, the curved back is nothing new. It's on the 3G and 3GS. What many are ignoring is the functionality of the iOS vs Android for the international especially for those languages that depend more on characters than alphabets. iOS is so much superior when it comes to language input and usage compared to Android. That's why China is one of Apples main focus.
Apple will need just do what EVERYONE wants......give us more real estates. Come up with two models. 4 inch and 4.5 inch screen! That alone will almost kick ass.
Would be awesome if Siri is more functional and also Vle to understand multiple languages....
Add magnetic charging back like someone suggests....

Pretty damn awesome if you asked me!

One of my biggest grip about Android and their manufacturers is that there will be a newer spec phone every two months. That drives me crazy...knowing that my hone will be outdated in TWO fricking months. That's ridiculous! Unify the release every 6 months maybe? I hate that android phone become worthless after 6-12 months.

I completely agree iOS needs a UI overhaul. It's been like this for how many years? It's just like my last few cars. Everyone of them has had the exact same UI - three pedals and a wheel. BORING! Where's the innovation?

EDIT: </sarcasm>

Like others have said it looks too much like the 4/4S... I want something totally different.

I agree completely! I'm as much a fan boy as the next but you have to be completely blind to like the looks of this phone.

It may have awesome features but it should look completely different than the last two phones Apple released!

I love the looks/size of the Gaxaly S III. Not interested in moving away from iOS but I do like the size of that phone.
