We're at that stage now...

Ok, it seems we have officially reached the stage in the Apple product cycle were majority were saying "it's ugly!" to "it's beautiful!".

The white with black windows model looks absolutely beautiful. The speaker holes look fantastic too, if you ask me. Far more minimalist, neater than the iPhone 4's speakers. This is shaping up to be a truly gorgeous phone.

YES! Sadly, I didn't get that game until a month ago.

I genuinely envy you - experiencing that game for the first time. Enjoy! It's a classic.

Apple obssesions with thinness really shows. And it makes the previous design look obsolete, bravo.

I still have a hard time believing this is the new iPhone. Clearly with all of the leaks it's looking more and more like the real thing, I was just hoping for more of a radical change.

Wouldn't it be the greatest ruse if this turned out to look nothing like the new iPhone or maybe the whole time we've been looking at the next Itouch?

Moving the headphones jack to the bottom was a great idea. The reason I say that is because when you grab the iPhone from your pocket, it's easier to grab it upside down and have your hand in the right position to hold it, as opposed to grabbing it facing upwards in which case you have to spin it into the proper position in your hand. Normally, there's no problem putting it in your pocket upside down but if you have headphones attached it puts unnecessary stress on the cord by having it facing down in your pocket. With the jack at the button now, you can put the phone in your pocket upside down and everything is oriented correctly even with headphones attached.

Might seem like a minor thing, and I don't even know if the choice was intentional or just a design element change to fit all the components into the phone. But regardless, there's a benefit there that I can certainly appreciate.

Regarding the phone, I like everything except for the two glass pieces at the top and bottom, on the back of the phone. It looks like lazy design and unnecessary, I'd much rather see the new matte black/white metal across the entire back of the phone. Change that, and I think it's a great looking phone.

So would the front panel be white or black!?

Makes me think this is just an early version before they decided to "darkened" the metal on the black edition.

The iPhone 10 isn't going to be a phone, its going to be a chip that's implanted into your brain and the display is on the iGlass that you'll wear. Or iContacts you put in your eyes.

You should just patent the iContact.
"A contact lense that shows a computer/video interface". That's enough of a patent and when someone else actually makes it, you can sue them.

Ya unless there is a really good ios 6 feature that won't work on the 4S I don't think I would upgrade for such a small screen size increase. 4.3 - 4.5 inch = perfect screen size.

I may even just keep my iphone 4 another year and buy a turn by turn gps app and save my money.

thinner, battery, longer

YAWN

love my 4S but i want a bigger screen and don't want to buy another ipad or tablet

this will be what i post come september 12th

Lip around front edge, not present on back?

I’m thinking this pic may show only PART of the new iPhone, minus some additional front-plate parts that will add (a little) thickness.

Two previous photos (below) clearly show what looks like a raised plastic lip/edge, around only the front face (similar to but smaller than the lip around the front and back glass on the 4 and 4S). The black photo could just be the front plate put on wrong (it does look crooked) but the white image shows the interior, and that lip looks real to me. Maybe the white part could be pressed in deeper? But it looks to me like it’s right where it’s meant to be.

(The third image is just a render, but it does depict the lip I’m talking about.)

I know there’s probably a plastic buffer frame between the glass and the metal. The question is: does that frame (and the glass inside it) stick up past the metal, something like current iPhones, or does sit down inside flush with the metal?

If that raised frame is real, then the screen will add thickness not shown in this new photo. I think this new photo is just the metal band and back, not a complete shell with properly-installed front glass.

I don’t like the lip, especially since it would only be on the front and not the new unibody back (asymmetry). I’d prefer the phone to be ONLY as thick as the metal band. But I’m not getting my hopes up. At least the protruding plastic edge looks smaller than on the 4/4S, and the total thickness is still less.

The image on the top-right has had its surface component put on wrong, yes. All the other images that have been leaked show the glass to sit flush with the outer metal border.

On the site that posted the pics of the new iphone the apple logo on the back in one is "silver" and on the other pic is white, fake is fake no matter how good they make it to look like.

I'll believe Jerry Dalrymple over you.

Jim just backed an logical stament, not means he know if the i5 has or not NFC.

The most important evidence are on iOS and patents, plus such spiral drilling on the engineering prototypes, but is right to say that the rel back case on the next iPhone sure will look different and not being made on alluminium

I’ve never seen an image where the glass sits flush. I’d love that! Do you have a link? I’ve seen many side-on or end-on images of just the metal frame, nice and thin, and maybe people are assuming the glass is in place? If there’s a conclusive photo out there showing flush glass, that would make me happy :)

I look at that white image I posted and I see a thinner lip than the badly-positioned black version, but I do see a lip. Thin, more like that render. (Not Apple-like, but possibly a concession to an engineering reality?)
