Given that the Picture shown is just a generic box (in comparison to the Leopard Box set) - my guess is that the page is just a place-holder for the store and will go away. The main page for OSX has "notify me" links and not "buy now" links indicates that its just a error.
Did you complete the transaction?http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC209Z/A?mco=Nzc2ODQzNA
I can add it to my cart and pay for it. Even clicking on "Mac Box Set" in my cart takes be back to the page I linked to and still says Snow Leopard.
It might change, but we'll see.

Thats what I mean by a placeholder - its just going to get updated when the real thing gets released - the store codes and everything are valid which explains why you can check out with it and everything.
I can tell you though, your chances of the order and your chard charged along with it shipping in 24 hours are not very good though.
Very likely it is a real page (and very likely the future home of Snow Leopard Box set), it's just that the record is supposed to be hidden and unacceptable since there are no links to it on the main Apple store - even clicking on mac box set takes you to the Leopard one.
Well hopefully it means it should be shipping pretty soon.
Snow Leopard Server also sports a similar DVD design as Snow Leopard client. This is the installer icon, which basically is a tiny version of the DVD.
Not really, it got pulled, which means just what I thought, it was a placeholder activated accidentally. No surprise that there is a placeholder being that it is nearly September. It must be lose to retail given that they have to be preparing the store for pre-orders.
That's what I meant. I just worded it really crap.
Look at the Boxes, the second picture of the box doesn't have the apple logo
38 pages and BAM! this comes up.

The box art and the picture of the disc is on the site anyway...
Only having bought my first Macbook in March, this will be the first time I buy an OSX update.
Can anyone let me know what is the "proper" or best way of updating it once I buy Snow Leopard? Do I just put the disk in and away it goes?
Reason I ask is because ive seen in this thread people talking about "clean installing" or something which makes me think of formats and back ups...
Any advice welcome.![]()
Not everyone has the ability to download the entire OS install.
not everyone wants to buy a DVD![]()
