That's because Tim Cook's Apple isn't about innovation. It's about stability and safety. He's just keeping the old ship going rather than bothering to create anything new. TBH what Tesla is doing now is far more exciting than Apple. Tesla are the new Apple.

They definitely have the devoted/crazed fan base going for them, while Apple's arguably seems to be fading. Would love to have a Tesla.

It'd be interesting to learn whether Apple does indeed plan to introduce a 3 year refresh cycle.

So, 6 - 6S - 6SE confirmed? (Kinda)

They may or may not bring in the sales from everyone, but anyone with older iPhones would definitely use the spec bumps and even appreciate it greatly.

I personally would love this as I stare down my iPhone 6, it's almost two years old and it still looks good as new, and I don't notice any lag whatsoever from the first day I opened it to today.
Also, my wallet is really happy about it.. lol :D

I checked, people liked Apple Pay and impatiently waited for it to come to their bank, more developers are starting to make good use of 3D Touch which if brought to the iPad could be the simple solution to the right click on a mouse, and people are definitely enjoying the screen size options (both plus and SE). Not seeing much gimmick.

Most people I speak to say 3D Touch really isn't that useful, bigger screen sizes is not innovation and took no effort on Apple's part. I agree about Apple Pay though. But one, truly useful, feature in 3 years?

I don't know about you....but that looks like a flush home button. Force Touch Home button confirmed?!

Hard to tell from this picture.
But it is not something really exciting. The breakthrough will be the removal of home button, allowing for less bezel and smaller phone.

So I guess you work for Apple and already know every single new feature that's inside the device?

It always amazes me how many people make their upgrade decision based on how much it looks like last year's model. We literally know nothing about this thing except it most likely looks similar to the 6s and most likely drops the headphone jack. But we have NO idea if there's "no reason to upgrade".

Because Apple has NOT established its reputation on frequent industrial design novelties, apparently.

I thought Android fans are the ones who stay up at night caring what's inside the device ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No. We know that the exterior looks largely the same and they'll have filled the interior with higher specs, which is just easy to predict, and brand new 'features' which are mostly gimmicky and barely anybody will actually use in real life other than to show their friends what's different about their iPhone 7. Just like what Apple have been doing for the past 3 years.
what nonsense. Touch ID can't be seen in a case design, but its super useful. duo tone flash can't be seen in a case design, now everyone copies it. 3D touch is innovative and i use it daily, also can't be seen. etc etc...

haters need to get over their child-like obsession with having a phone case that looks different so you can show off to your classmates. its as absurd as expecting your DVD player to look different every year. nuts!

I guess there won't be much of a surprise on launch day. At least give me Space black.

I guess the surprise could be more storage (32GB for the base model) and waterproof.
Maybe something cool concerning the camera, last year we had live picture this year maybe something even better thanks to the new camera.
But I wouldn't expect any surprise for concern the design, and I guess we'll see the final colors before the end of the month.

Well, the “Apple is mostly just a fashion company” people have weighed in now. It’s a shame this new iPhone won’t compliment your Fall 2016 wardrobe adequately. Gone are the days when technology was more than just physical appearance.

New processor? 256gb option? Faster touch ID (as compared to iPhone 6), 3D Touch (again, as compared to iPhone 6)? Improved water resistance? I think there are lots of reasons to upgrade.

Improved water resistance. This one i keep my eye out for all the time and I have not been able to find anywhere that it has been a rumor or mentioned except for on macrumors. Each time they mention it, they post a link to an article from last year that is macrumors, mentioning it again. And it is only mentioned. "The iPhone 7 is believed to have an increased water resistance." "Removing the headphone jack may allow apple to increase the water resistance." Doing searches doesn't give anything. Does anyone have any information on water resistance that does just link back to a macrumors created rumor?

The Apple shine is wearing off. People just don't care like they used to. It's stale and boring. The company is predictable.

Agreed. There has always been Apple fans and Apple haters, but it seems that the Apple haters are outgrowing the Apple fans online these days. Lots of bashing Apple. Apple needs to "wow" everyone again. They don't have the spacious lead like they used to, competition has caught up.
