I love how they used "Doge" for the icon of the reliability testing app.

As an iphone 5 owner in desperate need for an upgrade. I've been really dissappointed with all these iPhone 7 leaks and rumours. I wanted a new design and not the same as the iphone 6. So this iPhone 7 seems very lacklustre.

Guess will see. That said Apple don't seem expected they will sell crap loads judging by the orders they have projected

We will see. The same comments appear with every iPhone release. I have history on my side. But I guess if people keep repeating that iPhone sales will fall then eventually they'll get lucky and be right.

And what projected orders are these? You have inside information that the rest of us don't?

I don't say it isn't nice but this should have been the iphone 6s. They shure had this tecnology available one year ago but they just waited for another year. I'm sory Apple but it looks like you try to buy some more time to see if you can make more money using the same design. One more Apple customer thinking to change sides.

What a waste. You release 1 new phone lineup a year, and this is what they call an upgrade?
I truly hope there are some big internal changes we're not seeing.
I'm an Apple Junkie, and former employee, but I have to admit: If this is the iPhone 7 in its entirety, then the iPhone is no longer "Revolutionary."

Let's be honest here, they are too focused on making the thing thinner to add any new features.
At least Samsung is adding water proof features, VR headsets, wireless charging, curved displays, and more.

Apple is getting too cocky thinking people will continue purchasing slightly faster phones every other year instead of releasing new, actual features that could add value to the device.

I mean, if you're going to get rid of the headphone jack, why not keep the same phone thickness and add more Li-on?
-Bring me 3 day battery life.
-Add a bezel-less AMOLED display. It's very possible now.
-Start at a 64GB capacity like the others, quit being greedy.
-Add four speakers (2 at the top and bottom).
-Throw in a 10W charger.
-Bring me wireless charging.
-Make it waterproof.

This will be the first iPhone upgrade I likely will not make.

I don't mind a consistent design language. One only needs to see how infrequent Apple redesigns their computers, to guess part of their process. Create a design that can stand the test of time. My problem is that the iPhone 6 was ugly to begin with.

Exactly! :) The iPhone 4 could be described as a true design classic, also the 3G and 5 to an extent...

But the 6? No. Ergonomic issues (power button opposing volume buttons, awkward shape at edges which makes it harder to hold), compromises in too many areas such as camera (both depth and horizontal positioning) and antenna bands... This partially addresses the antenna bands and horizontal camera position but depth is even worse and no other elements improved, removal of headphone jack is purely a negative for users, nothing positive for user experience with that. 2/10 effort on this one.

I figure I would be upgrading my 5s this year, but yeah, this new 6ss or whatever looks disappointing. I sure could use a capacity upgrade, so I don't know what I am going to do. Apparently I am going to have to switch to this new AT&T next or whatever plan as well. And the no headphone jack is lame as my car doesn't have Bluetooth. So I will need some special adapter to charge and listen at the same time in my car.

I want to be excited about this new phone... but these rumors are making it so hard! If they're true, I really don't see much value in upgrading from my 6+. Like others have said, maybe there are some nice internal upgrades that'll help convince people to upgrade.

On the other hand, I have had this phone for ~2 years. The Note 7 reviews have been pretty positive... this is the first time I've ever seriously considered switching over. Curses!

But, but, but where's all the folks on this forum who were last seen arguing that the previous leaks must be fakes? And Apple would never release a new iPhone 7 that looks almost exactly like the iPhone 6S? o_O

For new MR members here's a lesson (with the exception of the iPhone 5 that had everyone fooled): if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck... dude, it's a darn duck.

It'd be interesting to learn whether Apple does indeed plan to introduce a 3 year refresh cycle.

So, 6 - 6S - 6SE confirmed? (Kinda)

They may or may not bring in the sales from everyone, but anyone with older iPhones would definitely use the spec bumps and even appreciate it greatly.

I personally would love this as I stare down my iPhone 6, it's almost two years old and it still looks good as new, and I don't notice any lag whatsoever from the first day I opened it to today.
Also, my wallet is really happy about it.. lol :D

I understand your point of view. But I've a hard time to believe this iPhone 7 will draw any switchers.

The Note 7 isn't a "major" resdesign from the Note 5 (they skipped the "6" so that it's the same naming scheme as the iPhone 7, how ironic). The only thing that looks remotely good is the Iris scanner but it doesn't work with glasses and is a massive gimmick. Also, people are going to look right idiots when they're in a queue and they hold up their phone to pay using the Iris scanner.

Agreed on the Note redesign point. You are, however, off base with the naming/numbering scheme.

First, there's no conclusive evidence the next iPhone will be called iPhone 7.
Second, Samsung skipped 6 to align the brand experience with the Galaxy S7 since they're both 2016 devices. I'm pretty sure their 2017 offerings will be Galaxy S8 and Note 8.

The iris scanner is infra-red and works with both glasses and contacts - only the setup requires their removal. It also works at night. Sure it might be a gimmick but then again, when using a phone with gloves it gives the user another unlock option. Gimmicks do have a place in changing the thought paradigm and spurring on innovation.

It's OK to be an unabashed Apple fan, however, you come off a something of a cult follower; unable to do proper research to support your points - not a good look.

Apple please just give me Wireless and Fast charging and I'll be happy. That being said, both of these are apparently not happening this year.

I want wireless charging, Fast charging, less bezel, waterproofing, higher resolution display and iOS.

Some offerings from the competition are offering all of that minus iOS. Eventually, and with the iPhone 7 this day may have come for me, but eventually the others will outweigh iOS for me.

Obviously a disappointment to have essentially the same design for the 3rd straight year, but if they do have something more radical up their sleeves for next year, it makes sense to get one more year out of this chassis.

I also think the complete redesign every 2 years for what amounts to a panel of glass and a backing is unrealistic at this point for a product this mature. The Galaxy line doesn't look all that much different than the S3 looked in 2013, but people don't seem to lose their minds as much about that.

After all the negative backlash, I bet they rename this the iPhone 6 pro, and then next year we get a completely redesigned iPhone 7.

You can't please everyone. I find it funny how people have already made their decision this year.

"It looks the same on the outside so it's exactly the same as last year's phone."

So funny. Once you hold on in your hand, see the pictures on Apple's website OR see all the new features it has, you'll want one.

For people on the iPhone 6 or below, this is a major change. For those with a 6s, maybe not so much, but trust me, it'll fly off the shelves.

And for most people the competition is more compelling like never before. I do have a still hope all these rumored pics and specs about the iPhone 7 are fake. That little hope comes from the fact that I can't believe that they can't come up with something better. Huawei, Samsung, xiaomi, even the never heard of brands can do it. So why not Apple with it's talented people and billions on the bank...

Can't wait to watch the keynote to see how Apple's PR machine spins this one. Introducing the new iPhone 6SS!

Everyone saying they're not going to buy? Check.

Apple going to sell record numbers anyway? Check.

The reality that comments from a vocal minority don't reflect the real world? Priceless.

Let's see the numbers and we will talk again. My prediction: no lines in front of stores. Big decline in sales. Will it sell big numbers... Sure. But Apple lost its cool when it is what the rumors suggest. Hard sell for that price.
