Anyone know if you can "try out the phones" and not lose your place in line? I am almost fully set on geting a 6, but want to try out the 6 plus. I really want the phone on launch day as my current phone is almost completely unusable.

I'd like to know about this too.

I ordered a space grey 128gb 6, but I'm now considering white.... Do you think they might let me swap when I go to pick it up?

Talk me out of it!

I wouldn't do it. Unless you fell in love with white from the very beginning go with your first choice, the honeymoon phase goes fast.

I am also waiting, ordered 3:30am est from the apple store app on my iPad. Still says it's processing. Still on 9/19.

I think you can leave the line this year and still get a phone with their new reservation pass system:

Just a question, do i need to wait for the pickup email before i can go wait in line? Or I can just wait in line and they will get me my reserved iphone?

YES I think so... I mean you can wait if you want, but you need that "your item is ready for pick up" before you can go. unless you can just go and pick up. im not sure, I always go after I get the ready email.

Thanks for the information, I guess I better wait in line and I am too excited about it haha

My understanding is that you go and wait in line in the physical queue So if you are 100th in the physical queue then when the apple staff get to you, you tell them what you want and they electronically check their inventory. If they have what you want then great. If they dont then you can choose an alternative. You will then receive your ticket and you can either remain in the queue to pick up your phone or leave the queue to go shopping or back to sleep or whatever and come back to the store later knowing that your phone is reserved and set aside for you and ready for you to pick up

I have two iPhones preordered for in-store pickup but if I wanted to wait in line to also buy the one I want for myself, will they allow me to do that or is there a max ?

It all depends on the store, number of people in line, and inventory. They will most likely ask you to get in the other line.

What if I just wait in the non-preorder line, get the phone I want, then later in the day when I get the "Your order is ready for pickup" email I get the other two?
They shouldn't give me any problems right?

That'd be a better option than doing them in the other order. However, asking your local Apple Store about it is the only way you'll get an actual answer.

I have a question regarding trading in my old iPhone and using toward the purchase of the new iPhone I pre-ordered to the store.

Can I use the Apple gift card apple will give me toward the purchase of the iPhone 6 I pre-ordered. I called Apple and they say because I already pre ordered the phone, it can't be. Is anyone wanting to use the gift card apple will give you for your old iPhone for a new one? I find it extremely disheartening that they wouldn't take it.

Thoughts?

I planning to do tis too. They can 'return' your phone and charge again I guess

I'm guessing that too because when I bought an iPod this past summer, what I did was bought the iPod and then came back with two iPods I wanted to recycle and they bought the money I got from that recycle toward the purchase of the iPod.

I'm still trying to fully understand this... If I'm doing an upgrade swap and they activate the phone in the store, will that kill the phone that is being used for the upgrade? IE I'm using my daughters upgrade for my wife, but don't want my daughters phone to stop working when I pick them up.

I've read this thread a couple times and can't seem to determine exactly how this will work. I always had them delivered before, so this is my first time picking up.

Thanks
