Apple did update Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and all the others even after the release of creator studio but NOT PIXELMATOR PRO !! So we are stuck on 3.7.1

Apple also shows that they use the creative app : https://support.apple.com/en-us/guide/pixelmator-pro/pix96e754af4/macos

They also never said that they will continue to update this app like they said for others...

So yeah we are deadass guys...

PS: App Store listing two different versions of Pixelmator Pro side-by-side:

I would suspect since Apple "JUST" purchased it a little while ago, they need time to make it work for their new agenda.

Probably was not ready for the release and just added it to show what is up for the future.

But who knows.

If someone who just purchased the subscription and used Pixelmator Pro before can tell us what is different besides just a fresh face lift and a new paint job, then we will really know what's happening.

The fact they still list it on the creator page as available for one time purchase if they don't actually update it is rather scummy..
I found out that Apple says that :

- For Final Cut Pro, some features might be exclusive to the creator studio version but the app will still be updated

- For Logic Pro, both versions have the same features…

BUT for Pixelmator pro, they only says that there is a one time purchase « version » available on the App Store ! This means that they might remove it at some point…

Yes, if they don't intend to update it, they should clearly state the old version is available for one time purchase, not that it is available for one time purchase which implies the same version.

Yeah lol it’s available but apple is surely going to get rid of it !

Erhm… okay. Maybe? I don't understand where the "surely" comes from. Any app on the store, including the Creator Studio versions, might also be pulled eventually.

If anyone still wants to buy Pixelmator Pro at a flat cost, perhaps this is the time.

It's not confirmed but it might come in the next couple of months... And yes if somebody wanna buy Pixelmator Pro, it's the time...

Just take in mind that it might not have any future updates... For $50 it's not a huge problem but yeah.

Pixelmator Pro 4.0 is Tahoe-only and subscripiton-only. Meh.
Tahoe is not really a problem, the main new feature is Liquid Glass so there would be almost nothing new if it was available on sequoia…

But subscription only is the problem !!

Affinity suite is free if you don't need AI stuff (tho it's Canva so who knows for how long) and far as I can see does pretty much everything Pixelmator does.
I tried Affinity and it’s not like Pixelmator pro, the ui is very different and not close to what we get on Pixelmator pro with Liquid Glass…

Pixelmator pro also has App Store templates that I need so yeah no way that I’m going to affinity… I’m not the only one who tried and didn’t like it !

I don't use it myself although I do have it installed. I found Affinity Photo v2 was better, more photoshop like (much more so than Pixelmator even). I just put it out since it's an option.
