They’ll keep it around but pump new features into the sub. Maybe they will throw one timers a bone here and there but it’s likely moving forward those of us with the 1X will be flying in economy.

Now the initial sub pricing here isn’t so bad - but - and here’s the rub - once they lock you in they can price hike as they wish. MSFT just out of nowhere bumped me 1.3x to renew this year. Then there are the companies that give you no choice: Ulysses, Banktivity ,1PWD come to mind. No more 1X. Sub-up or go home.

I’d bet Apple takes the former approach but know that Investors LOVE subs, and they unfortunately are driving the bus.

I’m using Pixelmator for app icon resizing in my Apple development workflow, and it’s meeting all my requirements. I’m satisfied with it and not considering alternative tools.

Being able to outright purchase a version of Pixelmator Pro that Apple won't defile is a bonus in my book.

Even Apple updated it to v3.8, you think is dead?

Because they will not add any new features like the Magic Warp.

I'm thinking buy the standalone but I feel like buy dead software, with no future features, is like keep a dead app but supported by the OS.

It feels Apple will continue release the 4.1 4.2... 5 on the subscription and the standalone dead on 3.8.1 3.8.2...
